How to check if no key is being pressed?

... replace the "reward here" part with a "set variable" and add 1 to said variable then wait 20 frames @> Control Variables: [xxx- TIME] +=1 @> Wait: 20 Frames then you can set a conditional branch that's prerequiste is aforementioned variable = 20 Place your reward under this and in the ELSE handler put this: @>Conditional branch: the down button is being pressed OK how exactly does this work? @> Simple. If the player ISN'T pressing DOWN : Else then it will check if he is pressing UP @>Conditional Branch: the UP button is being pressed If he isn't pressing up (set in the else handler) : Else then it will check if he is pressing the next key. and so on and so forth. it should look like this: @>conditional branch: Variable [xxx: TIME]==20 @> ""INSERT YOUR REWARD HERE"" :Else @>Conditional branch: the down button is being pressed OK how exactly does this work? @> Simple. If the player ISN'T pressing DOWN : Else then it will check if he is pressing UP @>Conditional Branch: the UP button is being pressed If he isn't pressing up (set in the else handler) : Else then it will check if he is pressing the next key. And so on and so forth.. I hope that works.. note: this method only works if it is set as a PARRALELL EVENT -

according to copywright laws anyone can copywright anything as long as it is completely original and not copied from anyone or anywhere.. All the resources in my games have been credited and may or may not i am not sure but i am putting all custom HEAVEN STAR material (in other words material ONLY found in heavenstar) under copywright act. Also, If things turn out good. There may be a sequel, hence the reason i don't want the resources leeched just yet. IF things don't turn out as well as i had hoped or plans to make the sequel fall through i will release the resources to the world. Good question though! ;) Copywright Laws (wikipedia)

... kinda.. the only things that are worth visiting rpg-palace for is inqs tilesets.. not even worth going there for Mode7 anymore because the New "Neo mode7" is hosted at RMXP.org (at least i am about 95% sure it is)

... BY CHOICE -- evil BUT ONLY IF I HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME ONCE BEFORE!! we all know that the main character of a game is supposed to be a SUPER HERO not a SUPER VILLIAN so i complete the game the way it was meant to be played.. then complete the game being the biggest prick you can be! XD

FIRST PROBLEM!! the third downfacing sprite's messy hair is messy on the wrong side (sorry it just stands out like a SORE thumb SECOND PROBLEM the same as the first problem but the UPfacing sprites hair this time lol other then them two major problems theres nothing really that wrong with it.. having said that.. i didn't play test this sprite XD

i think the only problem is that it isn't eye catching enough.. try adding some "dangling" (hanging) bits like straps or capes or something just to make it so that the animations look exciting! :D

what the window skin needs is 1 thing.. a more interesting border! the cursor and colors are fine. the border is just dull and not that appealing to the eye.

there is a very very simple solution to this.. why has no one mentioned it already?!??!?!?!? CONDITIONAL BRANCHES!!!-- COMMON EVENTS!! can you operate these two things? if yes then me just mentioning them two things will hopefully make the picture pop into your head automatically.. HOWEVER if you still are a little confused i'll go into a little bit of detail. Ok.. first of all.. make a COMMON EVENT and call it "check for no keys" or something like that and set it to activate when a switch is activated. the event should try to look something like this! @>Conditional branch: the down button is being pressed OK how exactly does this work? @> Simple. If the player ISN'T pressing DOWN : Else then it will check if he is pressing UP @>Conditional Branch: the UP button is being pressed If he isn't pressing up (set in the else handler) : Else then it will check if he is pressing the next key. @>"PUT YOUR REWARD HERE" HOWEVER! if the player is pressing a button at all the system doesn't work. the method i have used should work 100% flawlessly.. to activate the system create an event on one of your maps (WHERE YOU WANT THE GAME TO DETECT THE BUTTON PRESSES) and make that event activate the "common event" switch that we set earlier. Problem solved i hope! ;) -
if you are looking for a large array of resources. Your best option is to browse as many RMXP forums as you can find! just make sure to remember to credit the resource makers and script makers! here is a few sites to get you started: OH!! and also.. if the site has a gallery check it.. but if it has a forum.. CHECK IT! 9/10 there will be a resource subsection in the forum where people will post "workshops" and "incompletes" and what have you. sometime people start making sprites and then quit making half way through and sometimes they will allow you to finish the sprite and take credit for the work as long as they get a mention lol so yeah back to a few sites to get you started: lol rmxp.org (OBVIOUSLY!) -- RMXP ORG HAS BEEN REMADE COMPLETELY!! I CAN'T EVEN NAVIGATE THE SITE PROPERLY YET HAHAHA!! rmrk.net phanxgames.com rpg-palace.com (ORIGINAL HOME OF ONE OF THE MOST ADVANCED SCRIPTS EVER RELEASED FOR RMXP ~MODE 7~ also HOME TO INQUISITORS TILESETS!!) ALSO if you are using google.. you may find a crap load of japanese resource sites. get google to translate and good luck navigating them ^_^ --templates used to be found all over the place at rmxp.org i mean they were EVERYWHERE --every 2nd post = "OH my nw tmpl8 is h4x0rz!!"-- in my opinion.. rmxp only really needs two templates.. HK and RTP (oh and people should be making POSE TEMPLATES or someshit rather then a completely new template)

thans for the positive feedback :) amazingly i got the idea from combining a few movies together... Dreamcatcher - (the entity / alien and the meteorite) knights of bloodsteel - (this movie also gave me some sweet ideas) i've shown my storyline to my father and brother who both also think that its interesting. I am really looking forward to completing this project.. but i feel that will be months away. hopefully i will have some form of a demo or maybe a clip of something..

keeping the class systems from such mmo's as Wow and LineageII and even Maplestory does help with the creating of skills and classes. The idea of this class system is to give the game replay value, Also that little extra customisability for the player. My ideas so far are as follows: There are multiple races (obviously?) Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Orc, Elf, (expansion characters) Dark Elf Undead Kobold Deamon Pixie ---------------- Possibly more races to come? Also the player chooses gender, Male or Female Possibly later on a 3rd gender called unknown for deamons, undead, kobolds and pixies. Each Race has unique class ups plus also they have access to some of the other classes too. There are race specific classes that will be added in (similar to an expansion pack) so far the skill data base houses over 100 seperate skills (some have multiple lvl's such as my custom stealing skills and other custom skills) Soon to come will be a demonstration of the system. by the way, It's all 100% custom animations (using the rtp animation resources i have reconstructed all the skill animations) More ideas popping to my head soon.. i promise ;) :P

Hey, If you need help with xp mapping tuts.. Add me on msn - Emo.rhys@hotmail.com (i am an expert mapper i can give you some pointers and some tuts that got me started) .. Also, i do take map requests and make pre made maps for users... in other words.. describe me your dimensions of your castle town map, Give me the details of important landmarks (ie. clock tower) i make the entire map but the user must go through and re edit most events and make sure switches , variables and what not aren't conflicting.
