Hello all! I've decided to start up some eventing classes for your own benefit! I will try to make one of these tutorials 1-2 times a month. So, let's get started shall we? What is Eventing? Eventing is like scripting, don't get scared and run off by the word "scripting" because "eventing" is so much simpler. Events are your friends. Don't make them you're enemies by making things so much more complex than it needs to be. Basically, in a easy to understand nutshell: events are things that basically help your game do stuff. Think of them as Santa's Little Helpers. They can do some "dirty" work as well. Eventing is very powerful. Everyone using the RPG Makers needs to know how to event to even "really" begin anything. Do you got that? What you were supposed to learn: Eventing is essential and simple. Lesson 1: The Three Pages of Commands Difficulty: Absolute Beginner If you open up your event editor for the first time, you might get a little overwhelmed. Ignore everything else and double-click on the little @> Bar. Your first page of event commands comes up... This thing: There are some pretty simple commands on this page that you can learn right off the bat. The very first command you should see is the "Show Text" command. Select it. A box should come up. Write some random text in it like: "Hey Dude!!" Click "Okay" once you are done and your event should appear in the big white box. Now: Do you see the bottom-left area of your event page where it says "Triggers"? A lot of these "Triggers" are self-explanatory. Action Button - When a player presses the action button(Enter key) the event activates. Player Touch - When the player touches this event on the map during play testing, the event will activate. These are the only two you need to know about right now. Anyway, make sure "Action Button" is selected. This will make the event activate, saying "Hey Dude!!" when you press the enter key at your desired location you put your event at. Press Okay on the bottom of the event box and playtest your game using the green arrow in your toolbar at the top. This is what should happen: If everything runs smoothly, you have successfully made your first event! Congratulations! But.. Wait.. Wouldn't it be so much easier if our new event wasn't blank, and there was a person who said that in the game? Well, fear no more, this is very easily done! Go back into your first event, around the left area you should see this: Double click on it. A giant list of sprites should come up! Wow! All you have to do is select one and presto! Your event now has a graphic so we can actually "talk" to it. Press okay and play test your game. You should get something like this: Isn't that neat?! I told you eventing was simple! There's nothing to it! So, I think that concludes today's tutorial. What you were supposed to learn: How to make an event have a graphic and say something. Assignment! Listen up! Your goal until the next tutorial is to look around through the first event page, preferably that first little column. Have fun with it! Thanks guys. Eco ^.^

Crescent Moon [Update, finally]
Ecowolfsteen replied to Ecowolfsteen's topic in Early in Development
Yes it is like the one in Secrets of Mana. It can be found here for more info on it. As for my story.. I think it's quite simple. You get captured to use your abilities to get magic gems for some ex-Imperial soldiers, something goes wrong when you touch the gems and the soldiers steal them and leave you. But the Underworld Elemental Clan claims that the gems are their's so they can rule the world. You have to defeat the UEC to bring peace back to the world.. What are you not getting? And thank you for the comment on my screen shots. :) -
>.< Stupid chat logs. I knew this was going to happen. <_<

Oh My Lord... Well I'll be damned. It's Joey.. Welcome back! :sweatdrop:

Hey everyone! I've recently wrote up a couple pages of a Transformers Fan Story. I thought I could share it with you guys and update it constantly. Heck, why don't even some of you post some Transformers stories of your own: if you have any. :alright: Here we go!! TRANSFORMERS 20 YEARS AFTER THE EVENTS OF THE DARK OF THE MOON A deep growl bellows out into the night sky of Cybertron. Cybertronians all stop their activities and look up at the sparkling, pitch black night. Streams of smoke and fire whip by in a mess of mechanical body parts, thrashing and kicking. The blurred fight comes to a halt and one transformer breaks out. This transformer is unknown to the Cybertron population, a threat nonetheless. It is obviously male the glaring crowd assumes with squinted eyes. He is Unknown. The transformer wears black and red armor and has several weapons attached to his shoulders and back. There is a face-guard shielding his identity though, a face most likely of evil. Another transformer makes itself visible, this one is Flarenite. Flarenite is, or has been, the “new” Cybertronian hero. Optimus Prime you may ask? Optimus has died, Optimus is scrap metal. Flarenite is a muscular robotic-type, with the only color of red, with the exception of his black metallic heels. The Unknown raises his shoulder cannon, unleashing a volley of ear-shattering sounds and fiery projectiles on Flarenite. Flarenite hurls toward the ground and smashes on hard pavement. Dust springs up in asthmatic eddies. Unknown softly hovers toward Flarenite and lands about ten feet away from the hole where he lies. He chuckles and bars his teeth. “Is your grave comfy Flarenite?” He chortles, peering over the edge. Flarenite looks as if he is out cold. There is no reply from him. Four Cybertronians rush over to Unknown and start hitting him senselessly. Unknown sneers and pushes them away with a strange air blast of force. The crowd awes as the Cybertronians fly into a nearby building, toppling over everything in their trajectory path. Suddenly there is a whirring noise. Unknown growls and looks at Flarenite. His eyes are lit up. A raspy breath escapes him. “This is going to be your grave too!” Flarenite releases with a blast of fiery force directly making impact on Unknown. Unknown flails about and falls helplessly to the ground. Flarenite has gotten up and has ejected his green, glowing blades. One blade on each hand. Unknown dodges a blow from Flarenite and his blade gets caught in the ground. Unknown delivers a kick to Flare’s torso, releasing his blade from the clutches of the ground but sending him flying into a wall. Some bricks topple over on him on impact. Unknown chuckles again. “Stop playing games Flarenite. You know you can’t beat your brother.” He says. The crowd gasps but is too terrified to stop anything, seeing as what happened to the other four Cybertronians. Flarenite grunts and points his right blade at Unknown. Unknown beats Flarenite to the attack and fires a searing hot beam into his right arm. Flare’s arm blows up into chunky metal bits. Flarenite hollers in pain but the crowd is too helpless to do anything. “This family feud ends right here, right now!!” Unknown screams, sending a super fast kick into Flarenite’s face. More hollers of pain escape him but to no avail. “Why did YOU always have to hog up all the glory?!” Unknown questions, pacing back in forth in front of Flarenite. “I-I’m sorry.” Flarenite lets out with a big breath. Unknown stops. “Hm? What did you say?,” Unknown says leaning into Flarenite, “Say that to my face.” He finishes. Flarenite grunts and looks Unknown dead in the eye. “I’m sorry you had to be such an arrogant prick.” Flarenite says with a smile. Unknown’s face goes blank. He snorts and throws a hard blow with his fist into Flarenite’s face. “You had your chance…,” Unknown says, stepping back. Unknown’s chest opens up and a sinister looking weapon pops out. Suddenly, the weapon generates a green orb on the barrel, aimed right at Flarenite. “Look who the big brother is now!!” Unknown exhales in a tight, loud scream. He fires the orb at Flarenite, who’s eyes are closed and has a smile on his face. He knows his time has come. He has done good for Cybertron. The orb grows rapidly during the fast travel, almost the size of a house. The green orb crashes on Flarenite and sucks his cybernetic body parts in and it seems as if time has stood still, all for except Unknown’s constant laughing. A scrap heap of Flarenite swarms the insides of the orb and spin around viscously. Then time resumes… The orb explodes, firing shrapnel everywhere, destroying houses, buildings, anything in it’s path. Almost every Cybertronian in the crowd dies except for a few, who have severe injuries. The whole city is turned to dust, flames and ashes. Only Unknown remains, on his knees, staring into the horrible mess he has sprung on Cybertron. Several minutes pass by as Unknown keeps still. He retracts his face-guard. Then, a tear sheds. Two to be exact. Then a smile crosses his face, an evil, dark, sinister smile. “I’ve finally done it..!” He says, vanishing into a thick, inky colored smoke, and he is gone. For now anyway.

Ecowolfsteen replied to Ecowolfsteen's topic in Early in Development
Hey everyone!! :bye: Take a look at the first original post with a new story, new title, new features, and new characters! The game has been re-worked a lot and I've basically merged two games together now, kind of like killing two birds with one stone. So, take a look and enjoy! Thanks! Eco ^.^
