yeah i hate how it is right now D: in the screenshot ont he forum i got it from im sure they were staggered out, but im not sure how to move them. It looks silly doesnt it? XD i just woke up and the woman wants to watch a movie. ill upload a copy of it after the movie :3
-
I'd probably have to give you an unencrypted demo cuz im not sure if youd need the CBS script or one of the addons cuz the script has a few addons D:

Well heres an update! I had some help on another forum and figured out the ATB script problem. However, one of my team members had an amazing idea as either an AddOn or a small edit to the CBS. Would it be possbible to add images the battle. There is a lot of white space, and since it uses the overworld sprite as a battle graphic you cant really get a feel for the characters looks. With this little addition I'm hoping itll bring a whole new horizon to the battles! Here is the current look of what the system looks like now I have with me a little mock up my teammate made in photoshop. Obviously the images used are just ones from google. I would be using real art custom made for the game in the actual make up. if anyone could do this that would be SIQ one OPTIONAL thing that my teammate thought would be kewl is if you could make it so the person who's ATB is full/turn to make action if theirs was in colour and the rest were saturated like in the screenshot above. However, that is completely optional that he thought would be a kewl idea. if you dont want to do that portion thats fine! :3

well i got this figured out the only thing i need help with now is to hide certain bars since one of the addons for the CBS renders bars in my menu and so does my menu script D: EDIT: heres a screenshot
-
someone pointed out this code: which can be found by pressing CTRL+F and searching " œ ƒŠƒtƒŒƒbƒVƒ… " said editing the 96 and the 120 should move the ATB bars. So i played around witht he 96 and the 120. It seems the 96 sets the position of ALL FOUR ATB bars moving them either up or down. Higher the number the lower it goes the lower the number the higher it goes. The 120 seems to be the width of the bar, and doesnt affect the position. Higher the number the wider it is the lower the number the slimmer it is. Here is a megaupload link that has both scripts. The one i am currently editting is labeled ATB. The other one with ATB in the name is a bar graphic addon. ive included the the .dlls to run it, as well as the full RTP Standard has been uploaded into my folders, so it should run fine. imma see what i can do on my end. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GRZ25YQ1 EDIT: if you look above "draw_actor_cp_meter" there is a 160 + 4. The 160 is where the bar is located on the X Axis. the 96 in "draw_actor_cp_meter(actor, actor_x, 96, 120, 0)" is the positon on the 7 Axis. However. its still moving all four. imma keep playing with it EDIT2: So this is what I have so far. The bar position is pretty much perfect except for the fact that all four bars are ontop of each other.
-
I'd just like to point out that I have a composer. I am still recruiting for the other positions. Most importantly would be artists for icons etc. A spriter is probably the most important as my battle script is probably going to use the walk around sprites as a graphic.
-
I found this : ATB Addon however I dont have the script knowledge to move the atb bars to align witht he side view's script. can anyone do this?
-
the reason why there arent any screenshots is because they are coming as i get more sprites and other art that is custom and not default to RMXP. As for the story ill be reworking it when i get the chance. I pretty much tossed this together really quickly. ATM the only sprite I have is for the main char, and I think it needs some editing after I had looked through some sketches of him. Also need a sprite and more stuff for Mitsuka. I'll give the first post a read over and see how I can alter it. I don't know if itll happen within the next few days as I am visiting a friend I havent seen in about two years lol thanks for the comments though
-
i updated the first post with two screenshots. Had a Title and Game Over screen made. Also some new BGMs have been added for the title and the battle. Will be testing soon to see how long I have currently. Once I get the graphics I need plus 30m of demo play time I'll post a demo.

Yes I am actively recruiting :3 eventing is pretty standard I can do most of the eventing but I'll keep you in mind. however animations I CANNOT do lol could you PM me some examples of your work? ALSO updated the first post with two screenshots. Had a Title and Game Over screen made. Also some new BGMs have been added for the title and the battle. Will be testing soon to see how long I have currently. Once I get the graphics I need plus 30m of demo play time I'll post a demo.

I hope this is in the right section. So I've decided to change to a side view CBS. I've been told by many of my testers to make this change, so I've decided, "What the heck?" Whilst on google trying to find a nice ATB/Side View script I found this: http://www.hbgames.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24608 I actually found another page, and on that page this one was referred. The previous one would have probably been decent, but this one has a nicer battle UI. The problem I'm having is supposedly there is a "Attack Option Hide" or something, but I can't figure it out. I have very little knowledge of scripting. I was wondering if there was any way of editing this script or adding an addon to make it ATB? I don't want Limit Breaks, or anything. ATB is my favourite battle style, so having an ATB in my project would be perfect. This CBS is bery pretty. The only thing it's lacking is an ATB system. Can anyone help me?

ah i read the post wrong XD i replaced "$" with "#" then i read your post just now and was like "doh before the WHOLE line!" XD that fixed it and it looks fine :3 dankedanke this is a really amazing script. with some help from Marked i can call it with W :3

I'm having a slight problem with this script. I am just now testing it, but I've had it for a while. I have finally made the ingredients to make my first crafting item! The item requires one body armour and two bronze bars. I have the items set properly, and have the script set up properly to my knowledge. However, when I try to craft my new armour piece i get this error: --------------------------- Æsir --------------------------- Script ' Leon's Crafting System' line 491: TypeError occurred. no implicit conversion from nil to integer --------------------------- OK --------------------------- that line is: self.contents.font.size = $defaultfontsize any ideas? D: I really was hoping to have a crafting script in my game :( EDIT: I just reread the post two posts above this and I think i have the same problem... EDIT2: I ended up breaking it more XD
-
ok kewl :3 i had this paranoid thought that if i left them on itll make things run slower once like 9132087509138532 switches are running all at once.
-
Ohai :3 So i've been kinda on hiatus cuz ive got a lot of RL stuff going on but to get my mind off things ive been working on my project more. Ive been doing quests and such currently. However, I want to make it so that you need to do certain quests to progress in the story. Ive been turning the quest switches off after they were completed. Would leaving them on forever do anything?
-
ok i couldnt figure out how to do it like you said so i tried making it only one conditional branch for the variable and it works now :3 thanks a bunch! <3

Æsir A Work in Progress About the game Æsir is a fantasy RPG: Magic, Swords, Samurai, Monsters. Judging by the content, and possibility for fowl language the rating would probably be T-M. It's not going to be too over exciting. I don't know anything about scripting, and I lack the computer artistic talent to make animations, or sprites, so the simpler the better. That and I want to make it have a feel like the old classic games. 2D battlers, low tech, good story. The games we grew up with. Basic Story Welcome to the land of Shurnir(Soor-neer)! It is a land filled with many bounties. One of the more prominent of which are those whose thrall over the elements is great. These beings are known to be above the others around them as they can do things others cannot. The vast majority of these being would also use their powers for the greater good of the land, or their fellow "man." Some use their power for building, some for demoloting. Some use their power for training their body, or their mind. However, a dark cloud has been seen over the horizon of Shurnir. This malevolent force has been edging it's way towards the land. The devastation that It is to wrought could be very counter productive for the people of Shurnir. It will be up to a select few the Æsir have chosen--their Einherjar--to meet this force head on, and defeat this threat. The threat call themselves the Vanir. Beings of terrible character. They use the gift passed to them from the Æsir to wreak havoc on the land. To destroy what many have spent their lives to build. They wish nothing but to push the Æsir out, and control the land of Shurni with their own iron claw. The worst of these beings is one with whom much trust has been place. One whom would not be expected to do such a thing. Will the Einherjar be able to defeat such an opponent? Can they really be expected to bring their blades down on one whom they have trusted so much. With their very lives. We shall see... Good Guys and Bad Guys The Good The main character is Ramen Toshio Uzumaki. He is 20, and wears medium to heavy armour. His weapon of choice is the Katana. He will have various degrees of said weapons. Some will have elemental affinity; others will be used to cut through beasts with ease. He comes from a clan of Samurai. His element is Wind. He was raised by his Sensei Mitsuka. He is 35 years of age, and wears heavy armour. His weapon of choice are decorated Katana. He will be seen throughout the story, but will only have few minor roles. His element is also Wind. Kinrugi Neko is a female fire mage. She is 12 years of age, and has only a slight grasp on her abilities. Wears light armour. Throughout the story you will see her making mishaps with her magic trying to help her friends. Her weapon of choice is her magic, but they are enhanced by staves. Her element is Fire. [More to Come] The Bad Lillard Tepesh. He is 22 years of age. Wears Light to Medium armour. A ninja that specializes in steath, and ninjutsu. He uses two small straight katana as weapons, but also uses stealth skills, and ninjutsu to fell his foes. He starts off as a good characters but ultimately falls in the "bad guy" category. His element is Thunder. Xero Izumi Uzumaki. He is 18 years old. He wears medium to heavy armour. He drew the short stick and was born with his mother's name as his middle name. Ramen's younger brother. He left the village not believing in their principles on how to use their skills. He felt he should be able to use his power whenever and however he wanted. His weapon of choice is a straight katana, but sometimes falls to two short ones. His element is Ice. [One or two more to come] Team As of now my team consists of myself, and a friend Sanctum38. He has done some of the music, and made the title graphic. Æsir Recruitment Thread About the game Æsiris a fantasy RPG: Magic, Swords, Samurai, Monsters. I kind of like the default battle system. It gives a nostalgic feel. I may use side view battle system if i can find a good ATB one. Recruiting I am pretty new to RPG Maker. I don't know much about Scripting, and I lack the artistic talent to do spriting. However, I do find myself pretty decent in mapping, and eventing. I am looking for an artist(s), a spriter(s), tester(s), composer(s), and possibly a scripter(s), eventer(s), and voice actors. The reason why I say, "possibly" is because I can do the events myself. However, I do run in to problems from time to time such as the problem with my doors giving an error when you enter the city; which I still don't know how to fix. As well as a scripter in case of problems. As for voice actors: I just haven't decided if I'm going to roll that way just yet. Artist(s) What I need from the artist(s) are a few things: Battlers [back facing the player], Status pictures [front facing player], face graphics, a logo, a title screen, and maybe a banner for my [our] Recruitment thread and project thread. They dont need to be individual banners. One banner can do the job of two. I can draw, but I am not that great. If it comes down to it I will do the art myself, however, I'd like the project to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Of course you will be added to the "Team" section of the project, and added to the credits under any name you choose. Spriter I would love to have all custom sprites so I don't have to use any of the defaults. Using the default animal sprites, or sign sprites doesn't bother me. However, player sprites, and maybe some NPC/Monster sprites would be nice. Also if the spriter(s) could do the icons for items/weapons too that would be great. Testers I currently have many friend who have been testing my game. However, many of them ignore faults, or spelling errors, and that isn't helping me at all. I have included a .txt file that is for people who are testing to rate/comment/mention errors while they are playing. Those who find errors, or just simply email the form to me will be added to the credits at the end of the game. Sometimes there may not be any errors, so if the form is filled out properly thats fine. Composer I have found a composer: Sanctum 38. Going to have a fantasy/dubstep feel to the music. Scripter The main reason why I want a scripter is to fix problems I may have. It would be awesome to have custom menus, battle systems, etc, but that is just a bonus. Having this game look original as possible is very important to me, but I am willing to work with what I have. Eventer/Writer Same as above. I can do the events myself. It's mainly to fix problems. Maybe even help with story. Voice Actors I haven't decided if I want to have voice actors. That being said it is not hard to add them as far as I know. It's simply recording the voice and playing a sound effect. Isn't it? Anyway. It would add a bit of depth, and character to the characters, and keep the player intrigued. Maybe if I get a few good auditions I'll add it. I would love to have it, but until I get some interest in it is it just up in the air. Information on the characters can be found in my New Project thread. Link is below. Team As of now my team consists of myself, and a friend Sanctum38. He has done some of the music, and made the title graphic. Mapping, finding scrips, and most everything else has been done by me. Scripts have been credited to their respective owners below. thank you kiashi! @ Raikou: I dont have an event that triggers the battle. I was hoping to use it as a random encounter. I do have two troops though. One with 1 Urufu, one with two both evented the same so i didnt think i needed to paste them both hehe. I didnt really want to have to set up events on the map to do it cuz of the random encounters D:
-
msn can add pretty much anything i believe i have my mom on my msn whom uses yahoo
-
awww sorry to hear you're going Joey! I never got to meet you. if you want you can add me to msn ive been playing monster hunter since ps2, i have MHFU, MHFO, and MHT :3
-
i dont think its adding though. i have a condition in one event where the variable is 1+ to say how many wolves you've killed but it doesnt work. this is what I have for my event/troop. It doesnt go passed page 2 of the event no matter how many wolves you kill. Troop: Event:
-
So im trying to make a quest where you have to kill 10 of a certain monster. Doing this in the troop i have two conditional branches: one is "if the wolf quest switch is on" then inside there it is "if the wolf quest variable is less than 10" it would increase the variable by 1 or 2 depending on which troop. one troop has one wolf the other has two. my question is: do variables carry over from map to map? if not how would i go about making this quest? i am willing to upload an unencrypted version of Æsir so you could see what my event looks like if it is needed.
