  1. I feel no need to defend myself. Your desire to publicly slander me speaks volumes for your character in itself. I wish you the most sincerest best of luck in your future endeavors. /Jonathon Stuart Bon -Someone who goes around the internet as themselves, not a secret identity because he has nothing to hide.
  2. This looks great. Dragon Warrior was the first rpg I ever played. I still have the whole game memorized, and I recognized the castle layout right away, good job. I was wondering would you be only including dynamics from dragon warrior 1, or would you be adding some of the dynamics from later in the series. Dragon Warrior 5 with it's generational aspects, monster capturing and long story was by far my favorite. I have since wanted to see another classic style rpg have options like picking a wife, and continuing the story as your child etc. I would love to try this, the download link forces me to also register or sign in to download it. I none register download would rock. -Cheers!

I am gone for less than a week and 3 people have contacted me directly for feedback, 2 I have never met. That's great, I don't mind it at all, in the future people can feel free to contact me through Skype at Jonbonium or email at boninkcreations@hotmail.com if I have been inactive for a day or two as I get busy.

  4. Awesome, all communities need an experienced 'wise sage' type so to speak. It's excellent to have someone with your drive and ambition here at this community. I hope people read what you wrote and are inspired to go forward with their hobby and potentially develop it into a career. Thank you for coming here, and additionally for sharing your inspiring story. I look forward to your posts.
  5. I use the same provider and in my opinion my website is far more bland. I designed it that way, but non the less, yours is nice while not be overly flashy in my opinion. It's not the greatest thing ever, of course because as you said you are just starting and it's your first site but I like it, an excellent effort thus far. I think your poll is a good poll, it gives people an accurate choice. I don't like to say what I chose, but I think it's obvious. Good job.
  6. Man, you are a great guy. I hope you are around, and I hope you don't think I was mad at you either. Every time I write something I think about when I helped you out with your great water poem. Every time I think about zombies (more than I should) I think about how I should get back to our RP thread, but I know once we get going we will want to go forever! I had fun with you mate, I hope you are feeling okay, and doing well and moving on in a good way. See ya around the bend friend!
  7. Yeah totally a fox. It's a fox with raccon markings I think. I generally try to make stuff with no outside influence or insight, without reference material and such. I just close my eyes and picture something then try to make it. I could never make what I imagined, now I can, it's a really cool feeling. The fox is a character race I am doing concept art for someone's game. I also drew an ape, a bug, and a few others I cant remember. But that is first straight in Gimp. Thanks again!
  8. Thanks, all self taught and whatever basic stuff I remember from art class in high school a decade ago. Yeah I am doing a mash-up so there will be multiple fair tales in one, Oz is the last one to be included, and the final story. Hey thanks for the link, I am likely not to check it out, as I want to base it as close to the books as possible, along with all the other fair tales I am doing, but the effort is very appreciated. Have you ever seen Tin Man? That was awesome. (I don't mind highjacking this thread for fairy tale talk, heh). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910812/ Thanks for the kind words, that was my first digital render, and from my hand drawing none the less. I started another one recently straight in GIMP with no scanning and penning, Coming along ok so far.
  9. Queen of Hearts added to the main post.
  10. Here is a poem I wrote for a game I am working on. This is dialogue the narrator would read between the played parts in a game. It's only partially edited for cotinuity and pacing, so there still might be some issues with the read. But it's done rough draft phase 1, and likely won't go back over it until the entire narration for the other stories for my game are also written.
  11. Not every 'free country' has the same free will, and some people in some free countries want to push their beliefs on people when there is no real reason to force others to do stuff unless safety is concerned. Really? Walk outside naked, cause no direct harm to anyone, do nothing other than wear no clothes in public. Then tell me you are free to do as you please. As long as it's not a matter of safety, there should be no law and people should be free to do as they please. That is free will.
  12. Body piercings, tattoos, and general body modification. I have a tattoo and piecing, I didn't do them myself, I enjoy them now, but heck they hurt then, and it's 'permanent'. Two consenting adults can do whatever they want to each other, as long as it causes no unwanted permanent harm to them or those around them. In any free country. That's free will, whatever your beliefs are, it's not a free will movement to force them on others. You are free to believe it, you are not free to make others believe it to. People should not be 'forced' to have the "best interests of society", that is ANTI free will. They should be AND ARE given the choice, that is called free will. No harm equals no fowl.
  13. Posted a new poem in the original post. Also added it here below.
  14. @ Bob I definitely did play that for N64. I also emulated when ZNES was brand new, so I was luckily playing the translated japanese games as they were being fan translated back in the day. I never mentioned N64 because I played that as a teenager, not as a youth. If I add even just the video games that influenced me from say 4-20 I would be here all day. There is just too much classic stuff nowadays, not many are willing to try it either. I read through everything everyone else put, and yup, it was all mainstream. I would love to see people influenced from something that didn't get splashed all over TV as a kid.
  15. What made you decide to draw Vincent Price?
  16. About as much as preventing or allowing anything causes anything else. Yes we are creatures of learned behavior and of opportunity, but that doesn't change who we are. A rapist is a rapist, they don't need to see it first to then want to do it. Like a thief or a murdered needs to be shown how to take, or kill, nope they just want the end results and take it through whatever means, they need not be shown. Some girls enjoy that type of 'role play', so as far as I am concerned two consenting adults can do whatever they want to each other, as long as it causes no unwanted permanent harm to them or those around them. If they want to record it and others want to watch, then that's their prerogative, as is free will.
  17. You are missing the point. There are many methods to the whole 'free' or 'pay'. Picture this model for instance, you play a game for free and there is a tiny scroll ad along the bottom, you pay $1-10 for the game and the advertising disappears. It's not just the whole 'micro-payment' subscription stuff, that's small thinking from the past. Imagine a complete game and you only pay to remove ads, or have additional content that is not game breaking or necessary, aesthetic. Besides all that, the point of this system is to allow anyone the ability to make 'classic' style games, more powerful than a cell phone, and on a television, and available to thousands of people through their network. Plus the thing is open source. Put it this way, I was years away from being able to develop a game with custom peripherals designed by me for it, now that's a reality. Now I can develop for a console without paying tons of cash, now I and other indie developers can do things they never dreamed of with a fraction of the budget it would normally take. This won't play or make 'the next modern warfare' that's not it's purpose. It's for indie developers and classic gamers who want to play these types of games. And apparently $3.5 million can't exactly be a 'bad sign' of peoples interest in what they propose on day 2 of 30 day funding. As far as trusting them, I have spent more money on worse things, this holds big things for the video game world, and I have more than happy to have backed it. If they wanted 950k, and had this big of a dream for gamers, I shudder to think what they will do with x4 or more.
  18. If you never played 'tag' or any other 'free game' like this reply here.

I was just curious if people still played hockey in the middle of the street, or tag, or 20 questions anymore. Or if everyone needed a digital device for enjoyment.

I play sandlot baseball if that counts.

  19. The following are all things I enjoyed before puberty and had heavy influences in on me as I watched/played/read them many many times. Some of the stuff came out the year I was born and a few before but was so popular I grew up with it as a small child. And some was kind of inappropriate for my age, but hey we had American satellite at the time, and TV was great for us Canadians before internet and when everyone thought we lived in Igoos. I'm sure I forgot some, but I would bet 90% of the stuff here is 'cult classic' type stuff or really forgotten as I came from the pre internet, mid 80's marketing days where you had to read magazines, and share cassette tapes and vhs of stuff to keep informed. I tried to only put the best of the best from what I remember. Then of course there's all the stuff during my teen years, like final fantasy 7, Unreal, Warcraft/starcraft 1, The Big Lebowski, south park (watch first episode, it was an uproar), Mallrats, Fear and Loating in Las Vegas, Dark Tower Series, Stephen Kings IT, Dragonlance, etc. So much good media in the past, much harder to wade through it nowadays.
  20. New video game system that is a developers kit built in $99, and it works on a 'free game' platform.

  21. This kick starter campaign launched today and is already at 3.5 million as of this posts last edit of their desired 950 000 desired money to raise. That's right day one and they are almost double the funding they wanted for a 29 day funding campaign. The game console offers such features as $99 to back them and have it mailed to you, +$20 for outside US Every console is a game playing machine and a developers kit Every game on the system has some form of free component to it to some degree The entire console is open source, from top to bottom, they even give out the specs for free to build one. It's already being launched with titles like Minecraft, Madden football, and many others. They are in talks with other game devs such as 'thatgamecompany' and others. Need I say more? Check their kickstarter campaign out, read the whole message, and watch the video. I will definitely be developing for this console, I backed it at the $99 tier. http://www.kickstart...onsole?ref=live Update 1: Here is an interview with the women who founded the console. http://venturebeat.c...sive-interview/ Update 2: Reached 2mil, and we got this official update. http://www.kickstart...e-console/posts
  22. Hey there. Welcome aboard. I too prefer rmxp, excellent engine. There are some pretty darn talented people on this site in their different fields, if you ever need help don't hesitate to post a thread. As far as guidance, definitely. The people here are very constructive with their feedback, and equally openly posting their own arts and media. Glad to have you, have fun!
  23. My fear is publicly announcing my fears and then having someone plan an elaborate trap in order to get exactly what they want from me using my inner most fears.
  24. Heh. My buddy showed me a guy playing guitar and was like that guy makes me want to stop playing right now. I told him, well you know what you can't be the best you can only be your best. You're right though I will likely never be able to render art that well on probably using any medium, but I'll now likely draw forever non the less. Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder, but don't worry I have a fiery sword+1.
