  1. XP you get 7 special tile sets that consist of a big picture that expands to show all of its parts as you spread it out on your map. With VX Ace,all the title sets in Side A are like that, then Side B consists of single miscellaneous items.
  2. I liked it, but it was better just to loot the resources and use them in XP. XP Pros Lots and lots of custom scripts. Just about every added feature in VX Ace can be done with custom scripts, and more. More sprite frames. Can use MIDI audio files. Cons Less built-in features. VX Ace Pros Easy character maker All the VX features: Dungeon generator,Easy map maker, etc. Can play .OGV movies. (No idea how to even get a .ogv movie file.) Cons Very similar to VX to the point it's like...why? Limited sprite frames. Can't use MIDI audio files like XP can. There's little known way to convert .MP4 and .WMV to .OGV movies.
  3. Link to DL section: http://www.rmxpunlim...ace-in-english/ Link to actual Download: file.rar I uploaded the file to 4shared since I can't ever get the DL section to accept my files. Here's a the YT video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYL9bYg0L7k I already translated it to English, scripts and all. (I was VERY VERY BORED today!) This is currently the ONLY ABS for VX AcE at the moment. Also, I REALLY want to know how he enabled two characters. That's not in the current Demo available.
  4. Ok, so I was in the student center at my community college playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, and I saw this girl clinging to the wall, apparently she kicked a hacky-sack up there and she climbed up there to get it. she was about 2 feet off the ground and her friends were just standing around thinking of what to do, so I decided to help her. Well she still fell, but luckily she had something soft to land on...ME! She was only like 5' and maybe a 100lbs at best, so I wasn't hurt from her landing on me, but did I even get so much as a thank you? NAW! She just walked off with her friends giggling! she didn't even really look at me!
  5. His name is Kyle, and here are his attributes: -Loves the smell of burning flesh. -Controlling, Demands the praise and admiration of his servants and will slaughter all those who mock him, and condemn them to eternal suffering and torment. -Deceitful, he tricks a man into nearly murdering his own son to please his own ego. -Has a thing for young virgin women, during his massacres, he will frequently spare young virgin women for his servants' later use. -Likes to test a servan's loyalty. (Would you kill for me?) His servants murder their own families as part of their initiation into his group. -Likes for others to kill in competition for his affection. -Wrathful and hopelessly arrogant -Gives strange magic powers to his servants to see how they will use them. -Murders women and children on a whim, as well as all those who complain his murders. -Also people who defy him(or just don't like him), are promptly stoned to death by his followers. -And to his most loyal servants, he promises eternal life in paradise.
  6. I've updated the demo, let me know if you like it. I added a tutorial and updated the opening.
  7. Yeah, the last forum project I ended up finishing myself with little to no help from anyone.
  8. lol no id have to use my cousin's pc for that. Mine can't even do hyper cam without being horrifically slow. the audio and visuals would fall out of sync, destroying the video in it's entirety.
  9. my boss fight or the one in Runescape? My game uses an ABS,so yes, he can kill you in one strike, but you can run away and range him. The one in Runescape, you have prayers that fully protect you from one type of his attacks, magic, or range or melee. The trick is watching is movements and knowing which type of attack he's using, and to switch prayers accordingly.
  10. Sorry not changing the letters. Chief made those from my original title screen: and like magic he made this:
  11. I'm trying other ideas. I'm leaning more towards this one.
  12. What's wrong with that? He lowers stats by a set %, if you were too weak to start with, he'd crush you. Most final bosses are insanely easy. I prefer "impossible without a strategy." Like the boss from Runescapes Tzaar Fight Cave (well before all the "awesome" items were added... >.>) Anyway my point is, it doesn't matter to that thing if you have 99 all stats, if your strategy is flawed, it will destroy you (in one hit).
  13. forgot to mention, he's the final boss. Well, one of the last bosses. He has horribly low stats, but he brings all of your characters down to his level. I like reality check for the name.
  14. The human, in the game I'm making, has a combat skill that actually limits his opponent's strength to his perception of them. Meaning he can size up his opponent by looking at them, and that's exactly how strong they will be when he fights them. So, basically, he could be fighting a super demon monster, who happens to looks like a normal guy, and he'd completely win because he thought he was fighting an average person. He is the Brawler type with no perception of "power levels," and attacks opponents without the use of weapons or secret techniques. "Man to Man." He also cannot see or be affected by magic attacks, simply because he doesn't believe in magic.
  15. In Ishtar, there is no Hell. Instead, there are three doors for spirits to go through when they die: Paradise, Reincarnation, or Oblivion. With oblivion, spirits are erased completely. All the people they killed come back to life, all the crimes they committed, never happened, and any children they may have had are erased, too. It's as if they were never born. The current poll I have going on another site shows Hell being worse, but I want to hear your opinions.
  16. Party switching http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php?topic=116.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTgO9tRUkH4 and new game plus can be done via eventing. Have the player save after the final battle, then turn on a switch. Add a condition branch to the first map, that if that certain switch is on, gives the player certain items(ex. Excalibur)so they start the game better off. Then also have restorers in place to turn all other switches off and reset on variables to 0. So, you're game will start again like new.

  18. Downgraded back to windows xp. =) win 7 finally wore out its welcome.

  19. I fixed it by using my windows xp computer instead, so it was definitely a windows 7 issue. I don't know how to get Windows 7 to stop doing that.
  20. It's destroying my tilesets's shadows! Any thoughts?
  21. Step 1: I'm not sure where to put this tutorial, so I'm just posting next to part one. This one is designed to make the characters lively in the non-literal sense. When creating a character, I typically draw the character out right, but you can also just use your imagination. Also decide on a name of course. This is Alina. Step 2: Current Occupation. What does he/she do for a living? Alina is the Goddess of Ishtar, the creator of all life on the planet, in a way, she is their mother. Step 3: Think of a back story. What defines this character, makes him/her, who he/she is? Alina's earliest memories are of the cold, darkness of space, drifting along side her beloved lion, Jeremiah. Step 4: Dialogue. Think, how does this character relate to the other characters? Obviously, Alina has a very close relationship with Jeremiah, there things she would tell him, but never tell her other "children." Her fears, for example. With other characters, she talks to them like a mother. All except for Ryan, the human boy from another planet, whom she is simply fascinated with! Step 5: Problems and Fears. What does that character fear the most, and what problems does he/she face everyday? Alina's greatest fear is being completely hated by her creations, especially the humans. Thus, she very hesitant to involve herself in their conflicts, so as to not take sides. This could lead to one of the factions of humans considering themselves the "master race" while the other factions feel she neglects them. After meeting Ryan, she realizes she is not the only God or Goddess in the universe. This, in a way, terrifies her. What if they're not friendly and try to hurt her or destroy her planet? Later on, Ryan confronts her about not stopping the humans from going to war with one another. This causes her doubt her leadership abilities and gets her to interfere in a village siege. Then, soldiers yell at her, claiming since she had never been human, she had no right to tell them how to live their lives. This leads her to desire to be human for a while, if only to understand them better. Step 6: Motive. What makes them do what they do? What do they get out of it? Alina simply enjoys bringing happiness to others, but more than that, she craves their acceptance as their creator. Step 7: Hobbies and habits. These are what make your character truly unique. Hobbies: Alina enjoys caring for small children and the elderly in the village of Abel, and in her spare time, she likes to create random new species of flowers, which make certain areas in the game extremely beautiful compared to others. Habits: Alina's powers are not only immense, but they have a direct relation to the entire planet's weather. If she is happy, clear skies. Angry,it storms and hails with a chance of tornadoes and hurricanes. Depressed, it just rains, and if she's scared, it snows. (Yes, snow is a sign of impending doom on Ishtar.) Step 8: Now draw many faces of your character to use in text conversations. Such as Happy, Surprised, Scared, Angry, Blushing, etc. A picture is worth a thousand words after all. If the player can see the fear on your character's face, he/she knows the scene is serious.
  22. This tutorial deals with the literal definition of "lifeless." It has nothing to do with personality. It's a simple tutorial to make your character look like he's/she's breathing and blinking, like a living being. Instead of just sitting there staring at everything. I could post that script of how to do this, but like I said, I could never get it to work, and this method can be turned off and on. This is actually a revolutionary tutorial, if I do say so myself. Think back, how many RPG Maker games have you played where the main character just sits there, bug-eyed, not moving an inch when the player idles. (Too, too many...) From now on, none of you reading this have any excuse for making characters without an idle animation! (Bwahahaha!)
