  1. Booh. Bwoooh. Mwahahaha, you thought you were rid of me, did ye not? Even if I may be just a lone ghost passing by, my mark is still felt in the wake of my path.
  2. Yeah, it's alive, it just smells dead. ;/
  3. The irony is.., if I hadn't made that comment, this topic would have been ignored completely. Like usually.
  4. Hmm... undercutting my prices are you bob? xD If you think you can get it done you can have the job. Saves me the trouble of doing it myself.*goes back to the void*
  5. What year is this? Do you realize that program came out 13 god damn years ago? How far along is your project, is there any risk of it actually getting completed? Generally it doesn't sound like anything complicated, for the most part I just gotta move some windows around. And potentially do some compatibility resolution with other scripts. It would be most effective if I had access to the project itself, but considering the nature of the script, having access to the scripts file should be enough. I could do it without either of those, but I would be doing it blind. And yeah, some compensation would be nice.
  6. Hm, you say that but isn't that kinda the point. Getting the people the resources they need to complete their games.
  7. Hmm, you do realize, GDU is already the top search site for rpg maker ressources. I doubt marketing is gonna do much for you at that point.
  8. Well, for what it's worth, you don't need a script. You can display text messages during combat, and there are ways to insert variables in them.
  9. Hmm... Still at it I see. I finished work recently, so I can have another look at it.
  10. I guess that's why nobody knows about us. :u
  11. ^_^" I don't even use my FaceBook. After all, knowing someone, and knowing "facts" about someone, isn't the same thing. The whole point is getting to know a person-- personally. Shocker, rite? You still haven't told us, just what do you plan to do now that you are here?
  12. Hmm... That's a good question, where ARE the rules? In any case, there are just the usual rules. Be nice to people, don't spam, etc. And we aren't very strict around here, so you have nothing to worry about, unless you do something really bad. The points aren't particularly relevant. They are just an arbitrary way to determine how active you are in the community.
  13. Erm, Bob... only problem with your point is that having one of those traits in the first place tends to lead to the development of the others as well. So it's quite usual to find all those traits in the same person anyway, if not absolutely accurate. Anyway, Zeph. Just what brings you here? If you are just looking for a place to crash you can hang out at the chat. There is usually someone manning the place. :u And if not, there are always the random discussion section on the forum. Off Topic If you are feeling artsy there's the Creativity and Design section. "Community Projects" is where you can find a project to join, or to look for people to join your games. Or to browse through the new games, being developed. Or to showcase your own. Although, it's worth mentioning we have the special Games section on the site. We are supposed to use that instead. "Game Development" is the place for game development... Why does this thing exist? We have the Resources section on the site for your resource needs. That's where you go to leech on our collection of available content. The "Engines" forum section is where you go to beg for custom scripts for your games... and get ignored by our lazy good for nothing veterans... The site has a Tutorial section, and so does the engines forum. That's where you go if you want to actually learn how to make games, instead of shelling out crap. And the "Main Center", is the place nobody cares about. :u That's where "the government" keeps us updated when they fuck up. Like that time Mark allowed GDU to get hacked. Right Mark? x) All in all, you should feel at home, here. It's a quiet... and desolate, place. And we have so few active and productive members, that every new face is important. :u
  14. Ha, thanks for following my link, Ryan. Though in all honesty I should probably close this topic. RMXP is outdated, it was already outdated when I started the topic in the first place, hence the "major success". Of course, I'm always happy to help if I can.
  15. Enough is enough. I too am of the opinion that private conversations should remain private. However, the fact is, that those posts do not contain any information beyond a confirmation of the things you chose to make public by creating this topic. The death of the forum has nothing to do with Mark's leadership. Throwing the blame on him is a low jab, considering he put more effort into it than any of us. The fact is, we are all equally responsible for the outcome.
  16. What you are doing is assuming that we are being hostile with you, and acting accordingly. But we are not, and it's awfuly annoying to be treated as an enemy when we are trying to defuse the situation.
  17. You know, even if your conjecture is true, that still doesn't give you the right to speak to people that way This forum has rules, and throwing insults at anybody, is against them. I've certainly gotten banned for less, so don't give me that tone.
  18. =_=" You need to shut up and consider your words. I can tell you are being driven by your emotions, but that doesn't give you the right to speak to Mark like that. I'm pretty sure he isn't trying to rub anything in, just to lay things out in the open, in an attempt to cope with your betrayal. Give it some time. And in the mean time focus on rejoining the community.
  19. *sigh*... Let me repeat: Mark, Leon. The fact that you two feel the need to drag this discussion on, tells me that neither of you has matured past the incident. If you really feel the need to vent the past, at least don't do it in such a public manner. What happened is already done, it can't be changed. And picking the argument up where it was left off, it is only going to expand the rift that was created. Leon, do you know Mark at all? If I've learned anything about him, it's that he despises deception. Why do you expect such a person to welcome you back with open arms? If you want his approval you are going to have to redeem yourself, and that's not gonna happen if you run away again. Nobody here denies your value, nobody wants you gone, but you need to face the consequences of your own actions. You wanted to come back and "fix the past", then dig in and face the music. Mark, do YOU know Leon at all? If I've learned anything about him, it's that he is not malicious. I know how you feel, but he isn't the kind of man who deserves your wrath. And to be honest, as the owner of the site you have a responsibility to maintain your image and keep the community peaceful, not to perpetuate arguments like this. Also I don't really know what are these "many negative consequences" you are talking about, are you sure you aren't overexaggarating?
  20. Well Leon, you said it yourself. RMXP is a dinosaur, and dinosaurs go extinct, but that doesn't mean you should too. I know you are a capable programmer, there's still plenty you can contribute to the world, you just have to catch up. I personally moved on to Renpy, a Python based visual novel engine. I'm working an a specific project, which might be of interest to you, a VN/RPG hybrid. That said, it has been going under the radar, since it's still quite barebones, I haven't even implemented all essential features yet. Nevertheless I'm serious about it, and i could always use a couple co-conspirators. Here is the current public thread: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=36433
  21. You don't have to say anything, I hold no grudge against you. I don't think you have nothing to offer, but I want to know if you are ready to put an effort, or if you are just here to make yourself feel better.
  22. Hmm... interesting... There's certainly a couple of things I'd like to say in regard to this. But I'll spare us the drama. But the bottom line is, what are you gonna do here, if you return? We still lack active, selfless members. And if you aren't gonna be one, it won't make a difference if you come back or not.
  23. Or maybe you have a virus which isn't compatible with the old monitor. xP
  24. Ha-ha-ha. People aren't supposed to respond to something like that. Honestly though... I'm amazed at how far I can go, and people still think I'm being serious. And they say I'm too high strung... Oh well, in all seriousness, I don't suppose you are going to get much help, but don't let that discourage you. If you want to make games, and you're ready to learn, then go ahead fight for your ambition. In the end the biggest killer of projects is bad morale.Keep your spirits and you will get there, eventually. Peace--
