Minkoff Animated Battlers Enhanced - Help [RESOLVED?]
Nisage replied to CrimsonInferno's question in Support
Sure, that's ok. You're welcome, and I like to help. I see on XP/VX sites questions that haven't been answered and I see the answers to those questions the either the same site or on others. It's sad :( So I'm doing what I can to help out, evne if it's only a bit since, if I had any questions, I would like them to be answered (nicely and truthfully of course, not like how you were answered on that site you mentioned a few posts ago). Oops, got a bit off topic, sorry about that. -
:P She still has her front claws, so I don't know if I want to. Also, she's heavy (last time she was weight she was 15 pounds).

I'm on it once in a while, but not recently.

Minkoff Animated Battlers Enhanced - Help [RESOLVED?]
Nisage replied to CrimsonInferno's question in Support
That's ok, this is isn't your "normal" script. So let's begin with turning VX Sprite Sheets into XP-style Sprite sheets. For XP Sprites, Row 1 and Row 3 are the Sprites that are standing still and not moving..... Like the Sprites in the middle of a VX Sprite Sheet..... You just copy the middle row of the VX Sprite Sheet (or Row 3 in the XP Sprite picture I have), and paste it on the far left and it'll look like an XP Sprite Sheet, but with a VX style (since it is a VX Character Sprite Sheet, it should have a VX style :P ) So it should look like this after you add in that middle row..... We might have to give them a background color to make transparent, I went with pruple since the Sprite doesn't have any pruple on her. Then you just Import the newly customized VX Sprite Sheet into XP and there we go. To give them the Sprite you want to see in battle, you go to the Actors tab in Database, go to Character Graphic, and give them the Character Sprite you want them to use, it's simple as that. Now enemies are a bit different for setting them up for battle, you will have to do some scripting. But let's deal with one thing at a time, ok? Any questions so far? -

Yeah, so long as it's a 4x4 Sprite Sheet like this..... and not a 3x4 Sprite Sheet like so..... It'll work fine. -
:P Another question, what happened to the link to the mibbet chatroom?

You just have to make a Sprite Sheet like you did with the blue guy. You don't have to make a Sprite Sheet that's holding anything, the game makes them hold the weapon. -Sigh- Humans only say that when they either never had it, or had bad experience with it. They could have said it in a nicer way as well. -
I was working on a 91x90 map for my game (huge map, I know :P ) When one of my cats jumped in front of me and started to sniff my eggos. She then jumped off and started to run. I then noticed after she ran, that an eggo was missing. She stole my eggo! I got it back since she dropped it a few seconds after she landed on the ground, and after I told her to "let go of my eggo" (almost like in the commercials :P ). So, uh... Yeah, just thought I'd mention this funny moment :P I didn't think this would go into General Chat, so I put it onto th Spam section. What are your thoughts on the eggo-stealing-cat?

There is a Character Maker XP that makes XP Sprites, and the link Rgangsta posted to make VX Sprites. Unless if it's making the Sheet have 4 rows instead of 3, then I can do that. Just make all the Sprites you'll use, and I'll add the 4th row. Ok? Edit: Also, some people might still like RPG Maker 2003, it's just they use XP and VX more. -

You could try and make a team now, or as you said later once it's big enough. So you won't use the Side-view then? Sad :( -

But we all like to help eachother out in anyway we can. That's what tutorial videos, forum lessons, and asking for help with things like that are for (mostly the tutorial videos :P ) Besides, I only know how to recolor sprites, not make them from scratch (unless if you count making monsters in a Frankenstein way, or Chimera way as I like to call it) I think I saw something that can convert RMK to XP, or was that someother kind of converting from A to B? Didn't paid attention to things like that since I never had RMK. -
Huh:? -Goes and looks- Didn't notice that before :P Thanks Wyzrd :)

Alright, it's time to vote :) Edit: Question, I nominated Formlesstree4, why isn't he on the list?

Nope, that's the icon that XP comes with, it's the script that's dealing with the weapon images (depending on what your characters weapon is, like sword, dagger, etc....). For the one I posted, you just need a Character Sprite Sheet, and a Face Graphic. I downloaded it before and used it for a demo so I know a little on how it works. Look on the bright side, you have everyone here on RMXPUnlimited for help, right? :) -

Huh? All I did was Import your Blue sprite into the XP game, in the Character Sprite section, and that was it. The weapons is only what you equip them in the Actor Database. Let's say I make a mage, I give him a wand/staff (whatever you call it :P) in battle when he attacks, he uses a staff/wand. All you do is just Import the Sprite. Simple as tha.... Well you might have to make Face Graphics for the Script I posted a link to, but that's simple. -

VX is good, but you can use this XP Sideview.... http://www.hbgames.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=60521&hilit=sideview I put your Blue Sprite in, it works. Though one small guy on a team where everyone is twice as big made it look weird :P Edit: It's not the one that you have a picture of, but this one is more interesting. I think, never got the one here with the broken link :P -
Or you can go all the way to the bottom of the Forums oage, and click on "Today's active content" :P Just found that out a while ago.

@Rgangsta: Interesting Sprites, where did you find them? @CrimsonInferno: Do you need helpwith the VX Battle System, or the XP one? The link you posted only has VX, and I found an XP version. -
Question, how do we find out who posted what in where? There was a button that said "View New Posts" before the upgrade.
-
Glad it worked :) Yeah variables can be confusing at first, but they can be very useful once you know what they can do.
-
No problem, glad to help :)

I did that once, but a bit different. As soon as you step on the floor, the hole would appear :P I'll go make a demo on how to do this, hold on........... http://www.filefront.com/14369019/Hole%20in%20Floor.exe The hole is 4 steps down, basicly go down 4 times, wait a bit, and Game Over :P

I can't seem to download the demo :( Can you upload the demo onto a site like Megaupload or a site like that?
