So, Drakiyth777 is long gone. He's begun doing other things with his life, and well, there won't be any more contests from him. In tribute to what Bad RPG Maker Games was based off of, I will be hosting 2016's Bad RPG Maker Games contest. The original rules from Drakyith still stand with a few modifications. Please read the below: RULES: 1: Games made should only be 15-20 mins long. 2: Please do not include anything in your game like extremely difficult mazes, items to find, hidden doors, or anything that would take a long time. 3: Please try to be as funny as you can in your game even if it's off-the-wall insane just try to add some kind of humor and madness into it. 4: Please don't forget to make your game bad! The game should follow all of these rules and it will be a hit on the hell meter! 5. RPG Maker Games ONLY. This limits to: 2000, 2003, XP, VX, VX Ace, and MV. Unity, Unreal, or Game Maker games will not be accepted. 6. Do NOT send me your official works as a "shameless plug". This has happened to me countless times, and will instantly disqualify you, or any legitimate entries you may have. 7. I will take games aimed to make fun of audiences, so please keep that in mind, if your an observer, and the game makes fun Undertale, FNAF, Sonic, or anything, please take it with a grain of salt. 8. Although these games suck intentionally, make sure your mapping, and eventing does not block off advancing the game. This will not disqualify you, but you will lose many points for this. Unlike Drakyith, I do not plan to have a review staff. You may send links to me through GDU, Youtube, (or post links here if Marked or the mods will allow it.) There are no prizes. This is just a fun little event I made. GOOD LUCK! TIPS: 1. Do everything opposite you've learnt as a game designer. 2. Bad mapping, and poor eventing. DEADLINE IS MARCH 15TH, AND VIDEOS OF IT WILL BE UPLOADED. ANY GAME SUBMITTED PAST THAT POINT WILL FALL UNDER REGULAR EPISODES.

So, I've been playing around with the trial run of RPG Maker MV a bit, and I have to say... I'm a bit disappointed. Let's go over it's strong suits: The Character generator: It's actually better than VX Ace's in so many ways. No really, Ace's custom faceset burnt my eyes. It was that gross. MV's faceset's are gorgeous! They look like they're from Fire Emblem Awakening. Comparison: The resemblance is uncanny! Anyway back on topic. The side view battler sprites look nice! They complement the original RPG Maker 2k series, and modernize them. They fit perfectly. Overworld sprites are okay, but when I look at one from the front, it's just... TRESH. Eventing is more or less the same, with the exception of Plugin commands. Can't say much aside that the plugins are nice utilities. Higher resolutions, different menus,etc. Just nice little things for your game. Mapping is the same as VX Ace's and I'm not liking it. Give me XP's mapping any day of that week. The art style is very colorful, but I'm not a big fan. It's good, but it's just not my style. XP's artstyle kept a sense seriousness. The whole Chibi thing isn't really a good look for a game with a serious tone. However, I can't forget HTML5, and mobile porting. HTML5 is excellent for one reason: Playtesting. It makes thing's for a user who wants to playtest a game much less worrisome about viruses, and can just play it in their browser. However, load times suck, and they're indeed, there. I wouldn't recommend making your final product on the browser. Mobile porting is also great for testing games on the go, and showing them off to your friends! RPG Maker MV get's a 7/10. It's okay, but it'll need just a smidge more to beat XP's golden days. Maybe once scripts, and new plugins come for it, It'll be just fine.

Okay, might i just say, this website is great. No overusage of memes... no cringelords... everyone here is pretty neat! However, we can't deny that this community has shrunk more than the Ouya's relevancy, over the past years. So, when i drove in through the walls on a buggy with a 'La Cucaracha' horn, this place was pretty desolate. We see the same familiar faces and the such. But don't worry, I have an idea! It's a good one! However, the moderators are gonna have to agree to what will be written below. So here's the layout. Now we MOSTLY focus on RPG Maker content. Oh, and not to mention Unity. This website has Unity content...? Those are the only ones featured. We should try and appeal to the less known engines, and try and attract people that know about the engines in question. So here's the first thing I want you to do: List other game design engines! Thing's like Game Maker, and IG Maker. I volunteer to be doing the logo's for them, so no need to worry. AND THEN WE BEGIN INTERNET DOMINATION TO BECOME THE ONLY GAME DEV- Oh. You guys aren't supposed to know about that yet. Nevermind. Back to the point. You guys can contribute more ideas in the meantime, I'll keep brainstorming ideas. Don't worry, Mr. Owner-guy-who-runs-this-website-and-is-a-floating-eye! Your wallet won't go empty for nothing!

I'm not gonna post my face, but if it's any constellation, I made the 2 iterations of dusty. EDIT: Actually, I maned up. Still not posting my face but heres the sprite Dusty, and young Dusty Now watch me whip.... I'm so sorry. thats the impression i get from these animations.

Not sure if I'm hijacking or not, but I had an idea that's on topic to this. Why don't we welcome even more engines like Game Maker, IG Maker, etc. I'd be willing to make the logos!

I love this. The load times are non intrusive, and I've seen it done with 2003, which is pretty neat, but this looks fantastic. I plan to stay with XP until an MV converter comes out, but this is fantastic for people who have RPG Maker MV.

Their doing a mini series to hype it. So far it's just been Eric (Ace) Ralph (VX) and then they chose to bring in Aluxes. He's been appearing in a few episodes. Like i think he showed up 7 too. You'll see what I mean eventually. They treat him like Roy in the "Fired Emblem comic".
