I'll test it out, but I don't know how. Is it a file you need to send me, or is it something just on the site that I can get to with a link?

I'll gladly test it out!

Can you reset self switches when entering a map more than once?
Yokuto Akiyama replied to railfan101's question in Support
You could also do a thing where the self switch only goes off once the player has defeated the enemy. So if the player loses, they can go back and fight that troop of enemies again. -
I've only been here since last year or so, but I'm glad we've made it ten years! I know I'm a few months late to be saying this, but ten years is a big accomplishment! :) And Marked, thanks for all the hard work put into making GDU, we wouldn't have all this without you. Let's keep GDU going for as long as we can!

Mapping Tips/Suggestions for a Wasteland?
Yokuto Akiyama replied to Kitsuki's topic in Engine Discussion
I know how to make a good wasteland map in Xp, I'll probably use it in my new game. I'll send you a pic of it. -

Ever wanted to hack into a computer, etc in RMXP? Yokuto's Hacking Minigame allows you to do that by inputting randomly generated number codes in order to get through the security. It's fully customizable and uses variables that you can change mid-game without having to make a bunch of common events for all of the different difficulties! It's probably going to be best used in a futuristic/technology game like Machine Made Rebirth or Cyberdrive Ninja, not a medieval game. You can use it in your game, as long as you put in "Hacking Mini-Game by Yokuto Akiyama" or something like that. Happy hacking :) -
Wow Mark, looks good! I'll be happy to test it out as soon as it's available!

Introducing a kickstarter project made by someone
Yokuto Akiyama replied to kaboth's topic in The Cafe
Sorry to tell you, but this is essentially another RPG Maker ripoff. It's the exact same thing, except it looks like a Poke'mon game. If RMXP wasn't around, I'd use Lotus (if it's a good price). -
Deadgeon II is in the making! I'll be releasing some mini-games along the way for you guys to use in your own games.

Are you using a different software such as Unity or Game Maker? (I'm not sure if those have exp systems by default.) I think you could just do something like this: e=1.5p Where e is the exp rate, p is the previous exp needed, and the current exp needed value equals the previous exp needed value times 1.5 (doesn't have to be 1.5, just a suggestion maybe) Hopefully this helps. I'm not really sure if this would work or not.

Ok, if you still want the demo, it's here. Not sure how to upload it publicly on the site tho.
-
Sounds cool. I'm not sure if there are scripts for that, but you could maybe do something like this: -Show a random generated variable code (Control Variables, Random 1-99999 or whatever else) -Use Advanced Message System (a script here on the site) to make the message auto-close -Player has 15 sec or however long to punch in the code -Do it 10 times or however many and you've successfully hacked the computer! -If you get the code wrong or you don't do it in the right amount of time it exits the mini-game and you have to re-do it I might make a demo of that, make sure to check it out. You can put it in anything you want, all I need is a quick mention of my name in whatever you do with it.

That let's play tho...

Based on my experience and some of the games I've played, I think Xp is the best for this. You can use Enu Tankentai XP for the side-view battle system (yes, I know they have that for VXA!) but XP is very easy to use, and there are so many scripts from people like Heretic, Rataime, Dubealex, Blizzard, and so many more to use in your game. My game's working great with XP, so it shouldn't be too bad for yours. To be honest, XP isn't that amazing by default, but if you have the 30+ added scripts that I have, Character Maker XP, and Face Maker, it becomes a very powerful engine, maybe even the best of the RPG Makers. It's an engine with lots of potential.

My game Gybonis Alpha Coming soon
Yokuto Akiyama replied to railfan101's topic in General Game Development
I think you should probably do what Polraudio said and make videos about Gybonis rather than releasing an extremely early demo. I think you should do an alpha/beta when you've pretty much made almost all of the game, and it's fully playable and all that.
