Actually yes, IMPRESS is a good word. Because you re REQUIRED to do something that the ELDON "likes" or "agrees with"; so yes I think impress is the correct word. All video game companies do stupid stuff. Like for example CAPCOM and their choice of releasing Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 when they could have made it DLC instead. They just wanted to sucker money out of the die hard fans and the idiots fell for it...hook-line and sinker! Actually it's no different then "clicking a word that says attack" in older RPGs or even newer ones that still use the classic battle system. The player never really controls the character. Plus you cant judge a book based on a movie or judge a video game based on the crappy movie until you try it. So regardless of what people think about the first FF13 game they can always just try it before judging it based on their experience with the first one. It's quite stupid to do so; just like a person saying they hate Corn, but have never tried it. Perhaps people need to learn that things change...for better or worse...its life! I can some what agree to that. You expect perfection so it sounds like a your problem. Actually, its not a Pokemon like system. You simply defeat them and selected ones join.

Yes I am aware of other people complaining. Since you replied it makes sense I adress you. But you hinted at it when you stated it was not like other FF games. There is a difference between random encounter and a battle. Final Fantasy 7, 8, & 9 are examples of RANDOM BATTLES. FFXIII-2 uses (yes) random encounters, but a battle does not start until you or the enemy touch each other. You can also get "the first strick" by hitting the enemies. So again it is a modified version of Random Battles, but you the player still have the choice to battle or not. 1) They tried something different that all. People did not like it so it was improved upon in 2. Though I'm not sure is you can summon any Eldons as the demo did not cover that. However, you can change the LEADER in the heat of battle. Plus again the FANS expect Square Enix to keep it simple and go with what the fans want. However, from a creators point of view they tried something (call it down grading if you will) and it failed. 2) I can agree to this one, but I still enjoyed the game. Its not my Fav FF game, but worth owning in my opinion. 3) I'll see when I get there. I owned the game since it was first released and being in the Navy I did not have much down time. Now that I'm out I'm catching up on my gaming. 4) I was not bothered by this aspect of no MP and I consider it an upgrade. 5) Who knows. I think your exaggerating on the whole 10hrs because there are not that many and none where more then 5min if your a fast reader. Like wise you can find rons of comments on people who liked and had no issues or minor issues with it. After all if everyone liked it that means the game would be perfect and theres no such thing as perfect... I disagree with the cure and curaga spell thing. However yes you need to impress instead of defeat.

1) yes the demo is short, but then again I drove right through the main story of the demo. According to YouTube videos if you EXPLORE you can turn the 30-45min gameplay to a solid 2 hours. 2)It wasn't confusing at all really. I got the jist of the story and some what was going on. Plus its a Demo so its not like there going to spoil a lot of things. Its no different then RPG Maker VX ACE and what Enterbrain has been doing with the RPG Maker series in general. However YOU can't expect every franchise game to be like the ones of the past. New teams and owner ship changes many aspects of a companies games. Plus I have seen far worse bull sh!t pulled by Capcom and EA. Plus its not random encounters because those REQUIRE you to battle. You still have the ability to walk/run from the battle just like in FFXII and FFXIII so its not real random encounters.

Reader, Jan 31 2012 is when this game is released in US and FED 3rd for Europe. Despite the lack of a complete open world feel to the first one I'm going to get this because I enjoyed the first one. I recently played the demo (quite short) and it looks to be better then the first. However, the story so far dosen't seem all that appealing to me. v/Respectfully, Noob Saibot

Reader, Any one remember this cartoon? It originally aired on Nickelodeon and then later Disney bought the rights to it. This cartoon is one of my favorites; especially growing up and watching it. I remember it because my mom liked watching the Rugrats (Nickelodeon) and Doug came on after it at 7:30. I liked it so much; and still do, that I have began collecting what DVDs they have, books, and even toys. I only wish reruns still aired. ~That's right I'm 28 and am proud to be a Fanboy of this cartoon! What is Doug: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug (nickelodeon) What is Doug: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122815/ (disney) v/Respectfully, Noob Saibot

I've been in this topic before and was curious about that as well. I always thought it was a work in progress.

Thank you. I have seen a lot of Alien and Bug themed TDG, but not a lot of animal based ones. Well seeing as how the game will have a cartoonish look to it I was thinking just normal gun turrets, but with a cartoon animal twist on them. Well he's not just protecting nuts, but fruit as well. Though I was thinking of having a type of nut that is the currency/money.

Nothing to get excited about. Just a gloated version of the original VX.

I have always wanted to create a Tower Defense game and I finally came up with an idea for one. I call it Muntch; which is also the name of the main character who is a squirrel. The game will be released for the iPhone and iTouch (perhaps iPad version as well) as well as 'Muntch: Nut Edition' for Windows and Mac. I am still deciding if I will make it in Torque Builder 2D or Stencyl. I have a designer from Deviant Art who will be making pretty much all the graphics in the game (her gallery) and she also created the squirrel above (geto text is my doing). Her next project will be to create Muntch's nemesis (other squirrel who is trying to steal Muntch's winter stock of food). Once I have more info I'll make a project topic.

Yes, I just started a Scifi website so I have been watching many shows I have never seen (i.e. X Files). The site also will have daily articles for episodes of Science Fiction stuff so I went out and bought TNG and just from watching it have even thought of a few YouTube videos I can do. I have only seen a few of the Deep Space Nine episodes, but do plan on getting it. UPDATE I just managed to buy Star Trek Voyager; all 7 Seasons on eBay unopened for $136.99.

Just got my DVD collection today. Completely CHEAP A$$ packaging, but I still enjoy the fact I have the whole series. My next one I'll be adding is Star Trek Voyager.

Reader, This discussion can be used for almost any type of television series: The Event, Heroes, Eureka, Warehouse 13, etc. However, for this discussion and example purposes I'll use Fringe. So I recently was reading a review on Amazon for Fringe and read one such review where the person stated that the show, Fringe (like many other television shows) are full of a lot of "filler episodes' and they went on to say that the show(s) should just get to the point. So lets discuss filler episodes. To do this lets look at a video game in the sense that the main plot is like the main plot of a television series and the side quests are our 'filler episodes.' If the player plays straight through the story and plays no side quests then they get at best (example) 40 hours of game play. If they play through the game with side quests they get (example) 80 hours of gameplay. Now look at this in the sense of your own life. Lets say someone wants to write your life story of how you became a stunt man/woman (example). However, they leave out all other experiences the person has or may have some how influenced them (our side quests or filler episodes) to become a stunt man/women. We would have a bland and emotionless story with characters who seem to have no drive. Now as I said taking Fringe into account. If the show got strait to the point they could take the whole 4 seasons (season 4 not released yet) and make it about 2 seasons or even 1.5 seasons. Plus filler episodes can allow the viewer to get more in depth and feel what the characters are feeling or get a more sense of the characters personality and reactions to life (or main plot) in general. v/Respectfully, Kage Kazumi

Spike Awards are over rated and an advertising gimmick. The only real awards that matter are the official ones aired on G4.
