  1. Yes you can, but it may or may not cost money, depends on the exact business you wish to start, etc. I suggest http://www.legalzoom.com/ as I have used them before for filings a DBA. They deal in many legal documents and you can even tell them the exact business you wish to start and they will tell you if you need to file any type of paper work and how much it will cost. http://www.legalzoom.com/customer-support/customer-support.html Remember it takes money to make money!
  2. I liked them then and now; to each their own.
  3. Doesn't matter who bought. The question was more of a "do you have a legal version?"
  4. RMXP Unlimited, This will help me to decide what type of contest I should hold for my contest. Contest Topic: here v/Respectfully, Noob Saibot (Kage Kazumi)
  5. It's still would be considered a fan game because fan games don't need their own plot/storyline to be called one. Ask any veteran hobbyist game maker.
  6. This question is poor at best which will result in no real full answer. See from this question it sounds like you want to start an Affiliate Website Business. Which you will need a license to some degree. Even if you don't have employes or plan to sell actual items (which would require a Sellers Permit) you will still need to fill out paper work. Also if you plan on naming your business something other than your last name (i.e. Pirritano Studios; this uses my last name so I would not need to file a DBA) for example, Double Punch Studios. Then you would need to file a DBA (which is Doing Business As) which tells people that you, 'your last name here' are doing business under this name. I can give you more information if you wish, just send me a PM if you do not wish to give out your idea for guests to see. I can give you better advice if I know exactly what you want to do and the State you live in; cause every states business laws are different.
  7. That's a given. ======================== Just found the time to watch episode 10. F-ING AMAZING!!!!!!
  8. See here is an example of getting butt hurt over someones opinion. Your opinion. Thinking you are the best and being the best are two different things. RMXP Unlimited (RMXPU herein refereed as) is like any other RMXP Community, untill you add or do something that sets you apart from other communities you can never be the best. Even then if you where the "best" you RMXPU still would not be the best because perfection is fictional in itself.
  9. Well I could have told you yes with out RATED's post. This is a question asked on many forums/communities and it is always the same answer. Yes you can. People do do this and make decent money, but they use all original resources (maybe an RTP here and there though). Example: http://www.amaranthia.com/
  10. People get a wild hair and go with it. Even I once had a RMXP/VX site, but gave up on it. I then began looking into other options and I have had a few ideas (one of which was quite popular, I just need to get off my a$$ and start it. Well you can either be the bigger person and ignore it or leave. Over time it will force people to change how they run a community. I believe any thing is possible, but it is just improbable. So with that being said, people have a lack of experience and knowledge to take on projects that are more suited for a veteran maker. When I got into game making (as a hobbyist) I still treated it as if I wasn't a hobbyist and bought a variety of books to better help me work with a team, find the time, etc. It's all based on how bad and series you want it and will take it. Secrets of the Game Business, 2nd Ed. Business and Production: A GameDev.net Collection Team Leadership in the Game Industry The Game Production Handbook, Second Edition Game Development Essentials: Game Project Management Audio for Games: Planning, Process, and Production Now if your serious about making a game and having a team then I should not see any excuses like, "I don't have the money." Because it's called a Job (USA averages 15-16 to hold a part time job). I have never made a working, functioning game in RMXP/VX or Game Maker, but I still know how to use them to help people. Leave it to Kiriashi to not have a serious answer. I like RMXP Unlimited, but the reality of it is that RMXP Unlimited doesn't have ALL the RESOURCES or SCRIPTS that people may need. So your answer is flawed at best (no offense Marked). To compete even Hobbyists should take their projects serious as if they where working in the industry! Some people can't handle it! Depends on the site. Perhaps, but research goes a long way! I think most people know that the history of that community is staled with the ignorance of a rock every now and then. I think if someone want to start one, they truly have to make a Game Making/Development site and not focus on one software. But again if the person has never used Stencyl then their site may fail. After all who wants to join a community where the knowledge of the staff is limited. Not to mention no matter what site/community you wish to make you will need the basics of advertising your site. If you can do this then you can greatly improve your chances of being a site/community that survives. Agreed...to some degree. Anything is possible. I think it's more people grow up; not that making games is for kids, but more along the lines that they start having different interests and goals in life. I think it's a sense of people feeling that other people should know what to do. Things that they find simple to do (i.e. a chest to stay open) they assume others should understand it. Or that everyone should actually read through old and outdated topics to find the answer. A lot of people also use Google as an excuse and subject newbies to the old, "did you use google or the search on the forum?" Which in reality this goes against the point of a community/site that allows member to member support. I think overall people need to stop doing this and just answer the question regardless if it can be found in an old topic or a pinned FAQ. This is true, but also some people need to learn to take it, use it, and apply it instead of getting butt hurt! I disagree. Enterbrain is a business. They will let it ride and when people least expect it we will see a new maker. Not true and I'm sure Marked can agree. This community is only as good as what it offers. Any site, no matter what the content has room for improvement. I'm sure Marked even knows this. No this is bad business practice. If they want to compete with other makers (free or commercial) they need to make more then just RPG Makers.
  11. Now they need to hurry up put it on Blu Ray
  12. A new week (America starts on Sunday) so some new facts: 1) There is 15,140 dollars of Monopoly money in a regular Monopoly game! 2) Every time you create a text message you increase your chances of arthritis. 3) There were real trained squirrels in the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. 4) If a wolverine was the size of a bear, it would be the strongest animal on Earth. 5) Canada eats the most macaroni and cheese per capita out of every other country in the world. 6) You can marry a dead person in France. 7) An Avocado is a fruit not a vegetable. 8} An odd plus an even, will never even! Example: 5+2=7 | 7+2=9 | 9+4=13...Never Even! 9) Dolphins and humans are the only mammals that mate for fun, but dolphins can only get pregnant once out of every 365 days. 10) Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, was afraid of the dark. 11) Recycling a 3 foot stack of newspapers can save one whole tree. 12) When Heinz ketchup leaves the bottle, it travels at a rate of 25 miles per year.
  13. Yes tonight episode 10, 'Fire and Blood.' Cant wait!!! Sneak Peek (HBO SIte)
  14. Nice work. I once had a sketch book back when I was into drawing. Now-a-days I spend my time writing; which is not bad because I could never get the hang of drawing hands, feet, or faces (realistic). I wish I still had one drawing I did (which was in my sketch book, long lost now) of a chick sitting in a chair. That was my best and only great creation. Disappointing my parents lost it when I moved out.
  15. The maker would have to do it. Plus having the RTP is not enough as it still fails to run.
  16. State of Nevada; though people are trying to change it to be illegal.
  17. I found this well searching for spider information on Google: Man’s Pizza Comes With Free Topping: A Poisonous Spider
  18. I will quote someone from this debate: here
  19. When it comes to me I test all games on many aspects and one of those aspects is: 1) Usability for people who don't have or use RMXP. This failed that test first and has harsh as it sounds, it not worth my time to download to my computer which can play it.
  20. A picture of Gandalf the Grey (from The Lord of the Rings) can be seen in the collection of great wizards in Professor Dumbledore’s study in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
  21. It airs every Sunday, this site www.couchtuner.com/game-of-thrones/ usually has it up 12-15 hours later.
  22. 1) Prince William and Kate Middleton got married on the same day as Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun. 2) Odontophobia is the fear of teeth. 3) The average person spends two weeks of their life waiting at traffic lights. 4) During the movie, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lector never blinks while talking on screen. 5) A chameleon turns white when it is shocked. 6) A female mantis will decapitate and sometimes, eat the male mantis during the mating process. 7) A squid has three hearts. 8) When you kiss, 200 million germs per second are passed between mouths. 9) Charles Darwin was born on the same day in 1809 as Abraham Lincoln! 10) "Underground" is the only word in the English language that begins and ends with the letters "und". 11) A jiffy is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second. Thus the saying, I will be there in a jiffy. 12) The first non-human to win an Oscar was Mickey Mouse. 13) Albert Einstein was offered the presidency of Israel in 1952, but he declined. 14) Less than 38% of the US population is eligible to donate blood. 15) RICHARD MILHOUSE NIXON and WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON are the only U.S. presidents whose names contain the letters C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L. 16) Animals such as dogs, cats, dolphins, bats, and mice can hear ultrasound. 17) A person's sense of smell is better at night. 18) Only 3% of the Earth's population is immune to the affects of pepper spray. 19) In the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the words around The Mirror of Erised: Erised is Desire spelled backward, or how it would appear in a mirror. Also, the inscription reads "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi," which read in a mirror reads, "I show not your face but your hearts desire." 20) A woman's sense of smell is stronger than a man's. Bonus 21) One suicide victim who committed suicide by jumping from the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, left behind a note saying: "I'm going to walk to the bridge, if one person smiles at me on the way, i won't jump."
  23. That's because episode 10 hasn't even aired on HBO yet.
  24. Game of Thrones Based off George R R Martins book series, A Song of Ice and Fire. I love this series (season one Game of Thrones is book 1, A Game of Thrones) it captures the book series nicely.
