First off if you release a so called Demo that people can play through say 25% or your game then it is not a demo it is a Beta version. A demo consists of playing key points in a game with out giving up the story. For example lets say your game has the following systems: 1) Quest System 2) Hunting System 3) Summoning Monsters The problam with people is they make a game then when they release a so called demo we end up playing the first half of the game. As I said this is a Beta Version not a Demo. Using the example above a Demo shows off PARTS of the game not 25% or 50% of the game; using the example above the demo would be made by taking a spasific event and combinding them to create a TRUE demo. Yes I am picky, but I only state the truth because I bet you released a Beta Version not a Demo. Now don't get me wrong SCmike I am not pionting at you I say this to everyone when they release a demo and it is realy a beta version. The fact is: I mean come on people if your going to make games even low level then stop making Beta Versions and calling them Demos. When I play a demo I don't wan't to see your introduction to your game; heck I don't even want to see the first 15 min of it. What I want is for you to like what you have done so much that you make a true demo. This means copying the whole game in a new project folder, then taking the interesting parts of what you have so far and create a demo. So this means when I click New Game a selection comes up instead of an Introduction (credits are okay). So using the example above my demo would start off by say one of the chracters on a blank screen (map) and asking the player: a) Noob Saibot Hunt B) Juraka's Quest c) Battle With Turaka Then when I pick one I start off on a limited map, so for example if the map can lead to the World map I can not go to it because this is a Demo, so it is showing off what's in the game not showing me the game!!! So remember people take some time to make a true demo and not a Beta Version or I will be ever so nice to repeat myself in your project topic!! Attention: This topic is not pointing the fingure at SCmike, I simply saw a post by him and thought I would make a topic on these so called Demos that pop up. It is directed at everyone!

There are many areas on the site that are not posted in a lot. This could be due to lack of great activity or to the fact that alot of us don't do this or that. Spam Forum-- personal I don't like these forums and as you can see it only has 8 topics so it is useless. Role Playing & Interactive Story Telling Forum-- yes another dead forum with only 2 topics in it. Entertainment Forum(s)-- This is not a very asctive forum so I say combined all the forums in there into one forum. There are many things so feel free to post your opinions or ideas to help SCmike make a better layout, what to keep, what not to.

Well I am the only one at my place who gets on any RMXP or game making site. My sister uses my computer as well, but she is to busy with her Neo Pets to worry about RMXP/Game sites. But Marked made a suggestion in another topic and I plan on trying it.

Now that the forum has been moved we should beable to fix this. Because I and I am sure others don't like having to keep logging in everytime we visit the forum.

I plaid one of those Metal Gear games. And it was just not my thing. To much stealth involved.

Good, question, but nothing can be mine if I did not start it. To be honest I used to be a member of: gameingw.net, rmxp.net/.org, and many other sites. They all just did not have that thing that grabbed me. That was because of the following reasons: gamingw.net -- has to many up-tight people and some that should grow up. rmxp.net/.org -- has to many people who think they got what it takes and act as if they shit gold or something. Basic decree is I find most Free RMXP sites do quite better and are not so up-tight. Sounds like you would like to see this forum become a professional forum. Having three domain names proves that even more. Also, someone with adminCP access means I can have the time away i need. This offer just may be what we need to push us into the right direction to make a successful forum. That would be correct. Most RMXP sites focus on some basic stuff, but the idea is to seem more serious about it. This includes 3 domain names (and helps prevent copycat sites).

I already know this (waiting on the domain names). As for not being around that long, it does not hurt me any if you all say no. I know plenty of other RMXP sites on free forum services &/or hosts that would jump at it. So it matters not to me.

Yes of course the offer is open if you stay, besides you would have to move the forum any way. I'm not here to take over the forum (should it come to that then okay). And no you don't need to add the License, but perhaps after or before the move. About the domain names... I plan on getting all three that way people can use any of the like to get to the site. Plus I think we would be the first to have all 3 domains instead of just one. This may also mean members get to choose their email as in: .com, .net, or .org.

Trap17.com is based on the admin staying active, and even now there are a few errors still present on the forum because of this limitation or just not fixed yet. Now this site could realy become something big (perhaps not as big as gamingw.net, but perhaps rmxp.org and Creation Asylum. Yes thats a long shot in itself, but I think having our own hosting and domain name would attract more members. Now you say, "well free is not bad. I can even point out some free forums that do quite well." That may be so, but name one that uses it's own domain name and maybe I will care. Yes it's harsh, and people these days don't care for ads (thought this place does not have them). The idea is to help this community and I feel the best way to do that is to give it it's own host. The host I plan on using is AN Hosting; there information can be found here. Now there plan says $6 a month, but they changed it to yearly payments about a month ago. As you look over the host details I am sure a few questions come to mind. So below is a FAQ I added to help you (and myself). FAQ Question: Would your hosting account always remain active? Answer: I can say yes to this, but in the case they go out of business the forum would be backed up daily. So in such an event a new host would be found. Question: If you have paid for one months hosting, and cannot pay the next month, the forum will go down. Answer: No the new hosting plan is paid by yearly. Ans money is not a problam as I have a saving account as well. Whith back up money in such a event should arise. Question: Can you ensure this would not happen? Answer: Yes I can, as stated above besides having my normal Checking Account I also have a savings account for back stuff such as: paybills, gas money, medical bills, etc. Now seeing as you said: "meaning you would have complete control." Well I have given Marked simple advice, yet he took it like some 12 year old and shoved it in my face. So clearly I will not stand for such childish rude comments. You may have taken the advice the wrong way and you did. But if you want to call advice telling you how to run a forum then you have that right. Feel free to take me off the staff, the lose is your own, but I will not tolerate some 17-20 year old acting like a 10 year old about such a small thing. You took it personal and it was a clean debat not an argument as you made it out to be. It became one with your childish post Mark; and that would be post number 14 in the topic "The System." I am not saying I am leaving, just leaving the staff as clearly someone needs to grow up or perhaps reread my post. Because if you did read the WHOLE thing and not just what made you mad, you would have seen I gave negative and postive pionts on Academy. Plus I simply gave ADVICE and IDEAS how to make this place better (is that not the point of staff as well to help improve the forum and how it runs) and some how you fumbbled my words into an insult instead of simple advice. Next time try not to use the old term "this is my forum I will run it how I want," I am 23 years old and do not need a course in how things works; that itself I took as an insult, as if you where telling me something with out actualy saying it (reading between the lines I belive they call it).
