  1. I'll get straight to the point. I think the biggest problem with actually getting a game finished among a community of random individuals is a lack of organization, and productivity. I know of an online service that could very well mitigate this problem, if not solve it entirely, called Pivotal Tracker. It's a powerful tool used by professional game companies to keep everyone aware of who's doing what, what needs to be done, and how things are coming along. The leader of the project basically creates a "story". This is basically a task that needs to be done like "Need mapping for town X". A value from 1-4 is then assigned to it to show how big of a task it is, 1 being smallest, 4 being largest. Each of the stories go into one of several "bins". These bins show how important these stories are, with the "Current" bin being the things that need doing most immediately. Any member of the project can go in, and look at what currently needs doing, and select a story to "start" it. Once they've finished, they can select it as done, and the story goes from the "Current" bin, to the "Done" bin. The real power of this tool comes in that it automatically determines how much work load to put in a single day based on the project's "velocity". This is basically how much work the members do in a week on average. That's what the 1-4 rating is for. So if a project has a velocity of 40, than that's basically a 40 point budget for the week. Pivotal tracker then takes stories from the "Backlog" (basically, the next step down from the "Current" bin), and puts them in the current bin each day, to try and match the average velocity. The project leader has total control of course. If there are some things that you'd rather get done sooner, then you can simply swap it out for something that Pivotal put in the current bin by itself. There are other bells and whistles, but the interface is very easy to use, and I think it's an essential tool to getting any sort of product finished, among those not being paid to do so. I encourage anyone seriously considering trying to make a video game among a community to sign up, and check it out. https://www.pivotaltracker.com/
  2. I've seen this happen too many times to get caught in it myself. You have somehow managed to completely miss each, and every one of my points, except perhaps that people should take precautions when dealing with sex. Posting them again is futile. If you can not divine the meaning of my original post, additional posts conveying the same information likely won't help. My only suggestions are to try reading my post again, maybe several times, or improving your reading comprehension. I really don't see how I could be any clearer. If many people have troubles getting the point of my post perhaps I will attempt to clarify. If not, I have no intention of repeating myself.
  3. *sigh* First off, unless you're on a message board for a particular religion you should never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever go around claiming that god exists. Argue, and debate all you want, but you don't just fling it around like common knowledge. If talking about someone else's mother is dowsing your electrics in gasoline before you plug them in, than suddenly bringing up god unquestionably is like filling maracas with nitro-glycerin. Bad form. Again, sex education is better than it ever has been in the history of man. I don't know what you people are going on about it not being taught properly "anymore". Well Jesse was saying that the only hole you should use is the vagina, so gay women don't have the same problem following Jesse's example as gay men. Again with this "today" stuff. There was never some sort of sextopia period of our history where only married couples had intercourse, and no one got STDs. In fact there hasn't even been a time where there wasn't a ton of it. Most of them are drunk and regret it? What are you basing this on? Television? I have only encountered this situation once during all the pre-marital sex I've had/have known others to have had. Once out of very likely more than 50 times (I'm not entirely certain on the number of times my friends have had sex, but I can get a good estimate). Long story short, if you know the risks, and take precautions there should be no issue, but of course, as the redundant saying goes; too much of a good thing is always bad. Edit: Nisage, stupid compared to what?
  4. I like it, especially the way that poll results are displayed.
  5. Well what on earth are gay men supposed to do then? Sit around holding hands? Jesse, it would be very strange if you thought vaginal intercourse was wrong and unnatural. As far as anal you'll only get anal leakage if you're doing it wrong (most people), or whatever you're using is very large. The general rules are to start slow until s/he's used to the feel, and there's no such thing as too much lube. You need to lube that stuff good, or like you said, man-diaper. Ok, you'd never kiss a girl who went down on you, regardless of how clean her mouth is, so would you also never use your hands to eat, or lick your fingers after you've masturbated, regardless of how many times you've washed your hands? Also, assuming you shower regularly, your genitals are likely cleaner than your hands. I don't know where this sort of general understanding comes from that your genitals are naturally "dirtier", but it's bunk. They're as dirty as you make them, which, left in your pants, usually isn't much at all.

  7. You know, it's not a very good idea going about telling 1/3 of the world how, and what they think.
  8. Well, it's been nearly a month now. If people haven't voted, they're not going to.
  9. Rauru trained his body, and gave him new clothes.
  10. Most people know the chars from the show.
  11. Anymore? Sex education has always either been weak, or non-existant. There has never been a golden age of sex-ed. You can't look honestly at the way sex has been taught through the 20th century, and not say we're getting better.
  12. The sonic cast are all very well established. Perhaps you didn't know, but there was (and still is) a Sonic comic, off of which the show was based. It would do you good to read some of that. I also think that doing Sonic in anything but a visual medium is a set up for failure.
  13. A giant evil turtle has captured the princess, and you, a fat italian plumber, armed only with your absurd jumping ability, and affinity for mushrooms must save her from certain doom. The world is in turmoil. 4 fiends have stolen the 4 elemental crystals, causing the world to begin crashing in on itself. You are a group of 4 heroes. Fix it. Pig-man took the princess. Save her. PAC-MAN! Unfortunately no. The main thing in ALL videogames (at least good ones) is gameplay. Videogames is an interactive medium. If the game's not entertaining outside of the cutscenes you should either seriously rework your game, or scrap it, and turn it into a show. And as for games becoming more mature, no. We just have the technology to better demonstrate the maturity of our games. 2 prime examples are Custer's Revenge, a game who's ENTIRE gameplay revolves around a naked cowboy dodging arrows to get it on with a nude native chick. The other being Mortal Kombat. This game is still among the bloodiest, and goriest to ever be released. I think the only reason that something like this wasn't released earlier is because of graphical limitations. Finally, let's not forget Mischief Makers. The only game the world over where you can shake babies.
  14. Motorcycles are automobiles as well. I'm not sure, but motorboats might be too.
  15. Do not be more "mature" for maturity's sake, but to better tell your story.
  16. Well, as with all things, don't knock it 'til you try it ;) Anyway, sex is not a shameful act, and I think the 100-man orgy situation was kind of ridiculous, but they do have the whole "family honour" thing over there in China, so I can see why THEY'D disown her, but I really don't think they should. Honestly I'd probably try to figure out why she did it, and fix whatever issues caused such a thing (unless of course she is just completely sex-crazed, and she can't help it. If that were the case I'd try to support her through her condition, not disown her). As far as her friends leaving, I can see why somebody wouldn't want to be caught talking to Sex-Girl. At least women anyway. Men probably would. I imagine she'd be embarrassed about the whole thing, and probably wouldn't be putting out like all the guys hope she would. Then without her getting into anymore shenanigans she'd probably fade into obscurity, and be able to lead a normal life again, unless she's sex-crazed for real.
  17. Hmmmm, this may not be the best place to ask such an opinion. The main problems are the dark, boring background, but most of all, like Nisage, I couldn't read the name of the game because of the colour. Even with those problems rectified I'd give it a 7, because it's pretty nice with the orbs, but that's all it is. For reference, something I'd likely give a 9 to would be the Ocarina of Time File Select Screen. It's fairly simple, and easy to look at, but it also shows a fair amount of information about the file to let you quickly gauge your process. Music is also a part of it, but as yours is a picture with no music yet I couldn't add or subtract points for that.
  18. I wouldn't say I've really accomplished anything. I've been a part of 3 massive failures, one of which could've been reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllly good, but a total breakdown in communication kind of sunk that ship. Now that I think about it, 1 of them wasn't a massive failure. It flat out never even got started, and that was the most recent RMXP Unlimited Project. I think all I've really managed to do was learn some stuff, which isn't bad. I've also been getting better, and better at composing music, but as far as RMXP I've done pretty much squat.
  19. Actually that doesn't seem like a whole lot to me. That's not even 3 years yet. To think I've been here for half of it, and just look at all I've accomplished! *looks left, looks right* There really has got to be a better way to get things done around here. CONGRATULATION! *just one*

  22. I think I shot for something a little too big on my part. If ever it's finished, I'll let you know.
  23. This is how projects die. Lack of communication, and lack of progress. We should never be "waiting". On that note, I am not submitting a story.
  24. Can we use any resources we want? Even from other games?
