What is more important, race equality or LGBT equality?
Enigma replied to Bob423's topic in Debate and Mature Discussion
The answer to this question varies widely based on which "society" we are talking about. In the most general sense racial equality has been more prevalent over the century. So LGBT equality typically follows afterword, simply because its otherwise too fractured to become a meaningful movement, i.e LGBT women wouldn't be able to advocate for such without women's rights anyway. Are you sure you could say the same, disregarding an influences society has had on your opinion? That's why these "distinctions" are human constructs. Short answer: No. Long Answer: Making this comparison requires you to do it in a sociological lens. You're technically right. A valuated claim trying to quantify the level of oppression is subjective and biased to experience, in some part of the world homosexuals aren't even considered human. Although its a matter of semantics, magnitude would be a better choice of word because racial inequality has been going on for so long among a significant portion of the world and Racial equality was basically a prerequisite for the other forms. The internet is the last true haven of the free world. -
http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/10458-fp14-we-have-technology-engine/ Engine depends on if we have a facilitator for it;i.e to use Unity or RMVX we need a facilitator with those engines. thats why we are limited to voting on the setting right now, once we have a setting we can evaluate how well it can be done in our engine and then we can use it to frame how our story develops. Technically, bob added the suggestions which are supposed to be anonymousish to protect integrity, plus if the setting can be described in one phrase then its more mutable. Today is the last to vote, in the event of a tie, I will break it.

What is more important, race equality or LGBT equality?
Enigma replied to Bob423's topic in Debate and Mature Discussion
If you are a utilitarian, the answer is race. Else its not quantifiable, however if we cite Dr. King, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice everywhere...", then LGBT and Racial equality are equivalent and part of human equality. Furthermore, sexual orientation and race are just constructs of humans desire to seperate themselves from others, then they are simply artificial divisions on equality because we can't institute the whole thing at once. -
You fresh guys are too sensitive...Franklin's topics were a lot more controversial then the ethical dilemma of Eddie vs GDU

You give Obama to much credit, sure he isn't a figurehead and has some executive power but he still has to deal with bureaucratic red tape and partisan differences, which ofc shut the government down last year. Rather its the unregulated 1%, specifically the banks that the government has allowed to be to big to fail. I'm all for lazzefaire but citizens should be protected from the tyranny of big spenders. Ironically, the US is designed in a way that at its optimum bipartisaness, where power isn't centralized by party is when its at its least effectiveness. Essentially, the sign that our democracy is working to decentralize power, makes it really hard to get anything done. Which is why we should focus on reducing greenhouse gases and alternate energy solutions. Also the standard of living in US makes people lazy so as the saying goes, "Peace has made you weak, Victory has defeated you!" Also if you watched the state of the Union, the US is technically in a better position then it was 3 decades ago specifically with reliance on foreign oil, education, alternative energy source, and emission cuts on greenhouse gasses. Also the deficit is finally going down.

a good futuristic jrpg is Xenogears Game Mechanics are linked to story and narrative, but the game mechanics simply serve as a mode to tell the story. I think its a misconception that story frames gameplay or vice versa because limitations of assets and programming obviously restrict more than a story. Granted a first person shooter necessitates projectile based weaponry and first person viewpoint but not necessarily guns, or a militaristic setting. In other words, we should't get ahead of our selves this isn't the place for discussion of mechanics, right now developing the setting of the world in which our story will take place is of paramount importance. Although, there is no dedicated topic in the story thread, stories, characters, and plots are to be discussed there.

I don't understand how this is at all confusing. Perhaps if one doesn't understand the sociological and psychological ramifications of the name Eddie...but even that is more obvious that what gdu stands for.

I got into the ESO Beta

Have you played Mass Effect? Also, we technically aren't talking plot just setting. Going off the title alone doesn't do each of them justice, but I don't think this site supports spoiler code anymore, so each topic just links to the post that describes them. I can at least vouch for my suggestion in that it isn't necessarily space exploration, its an alternate earth taking place during the "space age" which takes place from the moon landing to now except that there is no cold war, and magic has replace technology. The story takes places on one planet mainly, but there are Aliens who make contact with Humanity, and those aliens are related to the ancient elf civilization humanity descends from. At this point, they are just exploring there own solar system, which doesn't have any aliens just mythical creatures. You can suggest another Idea, but the only ideas we are voting on currently is story settings i.e the world the game takes place in.

Technically a fully fledged story is not needed currently, just a setting that the story takes place in. It can be very specific or can be very broad like "Ocean". I've added your setting to the option, and will probably add your suggestion to the story thread later. The only thing being decided on right now is the setting however, so the plot is subject to change. But the gist of it, humanity moving to another planet will remain the same.

you can vote for which ever setting you want.

Everytime late at night I find myself asking this question, should I go to sleep?

The first round of voting has begun! More ideas can be submitted, but those being voted on will be in the main discussion spot light. Round 1 voting will focus on setting! http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/10541-fp14-voting-machine-dre700-elected-president-story-voting/

Voting machine DRE700 elected President Despite the fact that we are living in the apocalyptic future of the year 20XX, where Voting Machine DRE700 has been elected president with an astounding 100% percent of all votes cast in the United States or any of its numerous territories such as Asia, Europe, Russia, and the Southern Hemisphere, we still have our imaginations, and imagination is power, at least until they harvest that too. In the meantime, we should at the very least make a first step in our project to save the gaming industry and the whole world and for that we are going to need a Setting. Voting on: Coming Soon This round of voting has commenced. Round 3 voting will begin soon. Please read the story descriptions... 1. Unite the World This is the Story Voting thread of the FP14 community event. PP: N/A point per vote *You can vote on any plot you wish, including your own. *If the plot has not been added to the poll yet, please make your vote into a post, then vote again when the option is added. PP: N/A points per meaningful post * A meaningful post can either be constructive criticism (criticism with a suggestion), a suggestion for a setting, or an explanation of a vote. Asking a question will result in 2.5 points instead of 5. *To vote on an unlisted item please do so in a post on this thread.

You know what would foster a stronger sense of community, increase activity, and attract some new traffic?

New to this site, and RPG Maker in general

Welcome. This is a great place to start: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/10459-fp14-theres-no-time-to-explain-general/ -
Oh, My Apologies, I forgot to elaborate. The Role Mascots are essentially a holdover from P12, Each Role had a mascot that represented their duties They aren't really necessary, but I think it adds some flare to the project. However, there are some important distinctions between P12 and FP14. 2 Roles instead of 3 classes, since no one will be assigned specific tasks like before. This ensures that everyone can do whatever they want. One day, you can be making events and the next you could be thinking up a plot while perusing some resources on the web. The second major change is that P12 was an organized team project that required joining and staying in contact. FP14 is a lot more open, you can come and go as you please and membership is automatic; the instant you post on any thread in the subforum, you are added to team. Or you can request to join. FP14 also rewards any kind of participation, rather than assigning tasks like P12. So yah mascots, we don't really need them, but we could have them anyway.

unfortunately, it uses windows. For this project I'm not using windows. Also for a seperate project, do you have an ACM that supports like parties of 20 ppl, possible changing the dimension and layout of character bars in the menu

This thread is now closed. Votes have been cast, engines have been chosen, thank you for participating.

custom save and load menu rather than using the load window
-
Thanks Moo..Saltome, but it has occurred to me that That I need a similar method to store save files also, where should I put the "def load (id)"
-
Or anyone else who can script in RMXP The normal way of loading save games is through the load game window. I need a script that can load a save file through a script call in an event. I.E I want to load file 2, @>Script: $scene = LoadFile_2.new or something like that.
