Mmmkay.. noticed just one problem. Everything worked on the first run-through. But, once you try to call the event again, it shows multiple "Cancel" selectables, and you cant use those to cancel anymore, have to scroll down past to a blank selectable to cancel. Any way to get rid of the cancel altogether? I think people will have to suffer through having to push the cancel button instead of selecting it. :)

Am I the only one who just DOESNT like this game? Everyone I talk to, loves it for some reason, but out of curiosity, I bought the game and started what would be another adventure into the world of Final Fantasy. How wrong I was. I started playing, played about 8-10 hours into the game, and realized, I wasnt enjoying it. I cant really describe it, but it felt like the game was hurriedly done, with graphics at the forefront of importance. I mean sure, I didnt get very far into the game, and didnt reach the harder portions, so I cant really comment on the storyline too much. The graphics were beautiful as well. Its just, I've felt this disconnect with the Final Fantasy series since FFX came out. Anyone else feelin this? I almost started a rant on the many reasons I dont like the game, but ehh.. thats another time. EDIT: Today is the day of many fails for me, it would seem. :( I post, got a double post, and now, I see that there's another topic that's already been done! I'm gonna go /wrist myself for the next few hours until I am competent enough to type on a keyboard.

Awesome! I'm still giving it some testing out, but it looks exactly how I wanted it. The day at a time will not be necessary, AND you've made it so I dont have to use switches! If you werent a guy, I'd make sweet, sweet binary love to you. :drool: Well, I'm gonna get to testing it, see how it fares. Well, if you're gonna take a crack at it, all I really need is the calendar itself, but need the option to set events that will occur once unlocked/discovered. (I'm leaning towards switches for that) Here's an example: Soandso visits TownA and talks to someone who notifies them of event, switch# on and now event is viewable in calendar. I cant really visualize how the script will be, but if you would like some more detail, feel free to PM me. Thanks for wanting to undertake this task! PS: Oh, are you going to work on the one that shows the month, as opposed to one day at a time? If so, that would probably make your work a LOT easier.

Hmm.. yeah, doesnt look like the break part of it needs to be in there another time. I cant figure out the Scene_ShowWindow line 11 problem though. Seems like its having trouble initializing the whole thing, but I know next to nothing about what to do about it. Sorry I couldnt help you more.

What's the name of the map with the rock? Cuz right now its got me in Mysterious Desert 03 and I see no rocks with an event. EDIT: Alright, so using the Debug tool and knowing what switches needed to be on, I turned them on. Freeze. Alright, so I checked all your events, etc.. to see if something with it was messed up. Nothing, perfect. So its gotta be something with your common events or maybe even a script calling that specific switch.. EDIT2: It was that switch itself. Dont use switch 76 for some reason.. try using the next available and it should work out just fine.

Alright, are you trying to make the bridge appear one section at a time? As a whole when you check the sign, or as soon as the RocksGone switch is off? Cuz I'm confused by the tons of events you have here. A little clarification would be awesome. :)

Okay, try this and let me know how it works out. Also, Im pretty sure this needs to be in there somewhere, just not sure. Anyone else got any ideas? I'm completely new to scripting myself.

Did you copy and replace the "def update" section with the one provided in the tutorial? That might be a part of the problem. For other people who know more about scripts than me, posting the section or line of code that is giving you trouble (ie. 46) can help them to figure out what went wrong, if they decide to help. :)

First off, I would like to point out that this is not a personal attack on anyone in any way, shape or form. However, being a discussion about prostitution, a profession dating back millenia, this topic has moral underlyings that can and probably will offend someone. It is not my intent to offend, only to open eyes. Well, being a Nevada resident, and having actually been to one of the establishments for a bachelor party, I would have to say that legalization of prostitution would overall not be a bad idea. The health precautions taken by some of the more reputable establishments are nigh-impossible to way-side. If a woman doesnt get her bi-weekly check-up with the doctor who comes to the establishment for examinations, she is barred from working until she has been cleared by a certified practitioner. Also, the women who work in these sort of places are independent contractors, not slaves. One woman made over $100k a year, and with renting her accommodations, she still made out with over 75k in pocket, before taxes. Prostitute/whore, whatever you want to call it, they may fit the bill by profession, but are certainly more professional, and by and large, treated better than your common street-walker. So, you may be morally against the idea, but on the larger whole, for the greater good of those people who are forced into such situations, I think it's a pretty fair deal. Mother of 3 cant work for some reason or other, and has limited options. Without the legalization, if she were to resort to selling her body for money, there's a greater chance of her contracting an STD, becoming addicted to some sort of drug, assault, and a slew of other dangers associated with walking in the streets at night looking for lonely johns. Whereas, the woman who decides to take the same route in a legalized state, has less of a chance for any of those things to happen. Also, taking a look at the economical side of things, the women who do not work in a legalized state are subject to jailtime for doing what they do, make much less money and also do not have taxes filed on their income. Women who do work in a legalized state, have larger incomes, mostly over $50k a year, and have to file taxes on their income. Sure, it can damage relationships in situations where a married man sleeps with a woman who is not his wife, but that's a common problem throughout society, not just in relation to prostitution. So, from an economical and health/safety standpoint, the motion to pass legalization is logical. From a moral standpoint, it's your choice. But like I say to everyone, how you feel about it is your own opinion, but to deny the women who are mostly forced into non-legal prostitution, the opportunity to make more money, in a cleaner, safer manner, because someone is uncomfortable with it is just selfish.

Are you making sure to not have them Autorun? They should all be set to action button, that way they wont freeze your game. What you have works, but it seems your problem is stemming from autorun trying to run a set of commands that do not exist, thus the looping freeze. If that doesnt help you out, I'll need a little bit more information on what's going on. Hope that helps!

It appears I was quite vague on my last attempt. Let me clarify: I am looking for a script, that can display a calendar menu from an item. Below I have images created in GIMP that show sort of what I'm looking for. Each month has 31 days, no fussing with what month is supposed to have 28 days, etc. I would prefer to have a calendar that I can open the day itself to view events. However, thats a daunting task. Instead, I would like to have it to where you select the month you wish to view, and it would show you in list form, what events are occurring. You'll see in my images. If anyone is interested in doing this for me, I would greatly appreciate it, and you can PM me for better details. If however, no one is interested, please after viewing, post simply "Not interested". It will save me from having to wait weeks, and bumping to find out no one will help me.

I see now.. I was confused. You were talking about changing the graphics of the alphabet, not the actual letters. I have no idea how to help with that, srry.

Ran into a slight problem. Fixed it by copying the Scene_Map script into my own project. Now it functions perfectly. Great job guys! Thanks for all the help. I gave you both + Rep for the help. Now all that's left to do is figure out how to make a calendar. :alright: Topic Closed.

And, you'll need a font that has the alphabet system substituted. EX: Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee ------Ff Yy Tt Oo Cc If you want to do it the quick and dirty way, you could always just substitute the letters yourself and keep a notepad of your substitution system. But if you've already got a font, Great!
