If HL3 ever actually gets made, all valve needs to do to advertise that it's coming is put a big "Confirmed" on the steam store, maybe with a release date.

look up a tutorial on animations and movement. GUI is a good start too. Really helps to have an idea of what you want to make too. Take baby steps and learn one thing at a time. Pirating is a little off topic, but I just want to point out one more thing... The kind of pirating we're talking about isn't even stealing. It's making a copy of something illegally and giving other people copies of it. The original owner still has it. If internet pirates were theives, they'd be going to people's houses to take their computers, but then we'd just call them thieves.

Marked actually used to be very careful about that. Never wanted anyone say anything about being ok with piracy, just in case. Personally, I don't exactly "agree" with piracy, but I do think it's not always unethical. Especially if you're pirating from Ubisoft...but that's another story :P

Welcome back! If I were you, I'd use 8 with "start is back" ...legally or otherwise... And Open Office is a really good (and free) replacement for MS Office.

Unfortunately, the best way to do that that I've seen so far is just trial and error. :\ For each enemy, figure out how strong the player should be by the time that enemy is first encountered. Then, set the enemy's stats based on the player's and just do test battles until it's perfect. Edit: I ended up creating my own battle formula to make everything easier, but I caused more problems than I created because I never got very good with RGSS. If I had my laptop, I could give you a script or two that can help you create your own stats. Also, creating your own formulas can help balance things if you do it right. I know I found an online damage calculator for the default formula somewhere, but I can't seem to find it :(

Last I checked, the Ω (omega) symbol is automatically changed to O when entered into any of the text boxes, so I doubt it supports anything but basic keyboard characters...kinda sucks :\ I wanted to be unoriginal and name an upgraded version of an item "ItemName Ω" T.T edit: although...the script editor supports some special characters, like these: ▲►▼◄ I used them in one of my menu scripts, but I have no clue how to use them in messages :(
