Is that an edit of something, or a from scratch? I can definitely touch this up. May I have the original?

I honestly can't remember how far I got, I have tested to many games recently it's hard to keep them all straight. Unless a game is 100% complete I don't play it like I normally would, I just run through with no strategy. If I get some time I will go through again and actually try to get as far as I can.

Hmm never heard of tales of Versperia, but I assumed this was a spin off of the Tales of Symphonia series of sure. Oh well, unique is always better. Wow I had no idea there were so many. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_%28series%29

[poll]GDU: Sidebar vs Topbar
Jon Bon replied to Marked's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
All votes for the side bar should be dismissed, no one has said any reason why it would be BETTER then a top bar, we are comparing two things, we need a pros and cons list going here. If there are no pros for the side bar that are a con for the top bar, why even consider it? We should use the one that is the most efficient, both can be made to look pretty. I believe top bar is the most efficient for the many reasons listed above. Someone give me some reasons for the side bar being better over the top bar please, like the 3 who voted for it. -

I'll do my best to update the resource pack for Moonpearls maker and to include those things as top priority. -
[poll]GDU: Sidebar vs Topbar
Jon Bon replied to Marked's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
Standard definition is the way of old, the horizontal of the screen will always be bigger. Top bar makes more sense to me because it allows for more space for more functions and can leave the overall site display more clean. Bars on the side tend to be wider if you need to put words, or force you to use symbol because of the limited space. Side bars have always seemed more clunky to me. They also take up valuable real estate for the site, where as a top bar sits nicely into an empty space when at the top, and moves along with you as you scroll up and down, for all intents the top bar doesn't really take any space, where the side bar could be a different content area unique to each page rather then a big static bar. Then again I have yet to see a side bar done well, maybe if we had one it would be cool, but I think top is more functional and logical, and unless I hear any points for a side bar I can't see why to consider it. Need reasons for a side bar, not against a top bar. We have reasons for and against a top bar, and reason against a side bar, but no reason why it would be better. That's how you weigh a choice. -
Yikes! Reminds me of the dos days.

The spiral was a mountain I believe. Spiral being the path. Yeah I really like the art style, not much more I can say. Bah, you'll get better with time, from what I remember they weren't too bad. The player can normally see 10 squares up, down, left, and right, that may help when you make maps, I try to keep it in mind.

Sorry mate, I saw that in the list with the kindle fire, and phone I just assumed it wasn't on your pc, seemed weird to list it with mobile devices. Well, good stuff!

I would still grab chrome if I were you, it's faster then all three and stream lined so next time you can just boot it up when IE isn't working and know in seconds if the problem is browser specific, instead of the hour and 5 people it took. I don't care if you swap, but you could easily troubleshoot this problem in the future if you had two browsers.
-
I never use chrome but I downloaded it so if my IE and firefox aren't working right I have something else to test and see where the problem is. Even if you just had another browser you would have known in seconds if the problem was IE specific or not.
-
My IE is working fine here. I constantly use both IE and Firefox, and have never had a problem here that is IE specific. Although I use both browsers, it's mainly because I keep two emails open and two browsers is the easiest way to do it and not have them linked in any way, I still prefer firefox by far, IE always has weird issues, and if you check your idle processes it's more taxing on the system. I know you don't want to hear it, but everyone is trying to help you, firefox is better for now, why not try it out? It's virtually identical in operating methods, which is also why I use both, but its performance is noticeably better. In any case my IE is as well as it normally does on this site and others. Even if you don't want to use firefox or chrome how can you be expected to test your IE to see if the error is specific to it or your computer/connect? You need a control for your experiment, you need another browser to be able to figure out where the problem is. Then just still use IE.

I know exactly what you mean mate, I am glad you like RPG Maker XP. One of my top 10 all time favorite RPGs. Multiple endings rock, especially when you can end the game in the middle, and new game+ and end the game right at the start, best feature ever. It has such dynamic characters. I totally lost lucca's Mother, and the robot (can't remember his name, the only one I renamed) the first time I played through, then the second time I figured out how to save both. Also Masa and Mune are two sprites I will never forget, that game was awesome I could go on forever. If you ever need any sprite work done, definitely post on this site with a new thread request and I will do my best to fill it. I have experience editing the RTP for RMXP and would love to help you animated your characters to match your mind's eye story. Populous rocks, few ever mention that. Kingdom hearts was awesome too, never played much into the series past the first one, but I loved it and replayed it recently actually. Glad to have you aboard mate, definitely check out the scripts section, there are tons of stuff there you are likely to want to check out or look into etc. Also if you are just getting into rmxp, you may benefit from my RTP addon pack (in my signature), which has stuff to match the RTP graphics and give it that bolster a new comers needs, as well as a link to Moonpearl's sprite generator which I make the database and is still being made using RTP graphics. Well, enjoy your stay, I look forward to reading your stories/playing your games.

Better then I could do. It definitely looks awesome man, better then rmxp rtp in my opinion.

[poll]GDU: Sidebar vs Topbar

Since we write left to right in English, I say top bar, it will be easier to work with. -
;) ^That's SO true, I couldn't possibly agree more. Once you start watching interviews of people who are succesful you start to see the same drive and passion in them and hear it in their voice, once you have it yourself you start to recognize it in others too. I agree, which was surprising because she is so distant and cold normally, it was nice to see her finally feel for something. I appreciate the vote, it means allot to me and to her. Thanks to anyone else who voted as well.

No worries! Now you know, can't learn unless you try, and sometime it takes a mistake. Cheers!

Most excellent. I will be sure to do that when the time comes. I got three topics outlined, just need time to write it up. Cheers!

Sorry, that's not what I meant. My site is a business site for my business and staff, not social. I have no problem linking to your site, but I will likely never link to my forum from social networking sites. I appreciate the offer though, and if it were functional I would definitely affiliate but it would serve no benefit to you. What I mean is; I want to write an entertainment blog, and it would be related to the function of your site . I want to know if there is some way I can just post my blog where ever I post it(as I wont even post it on my forums) and have it automatically post on your site too, like how blogs can feed into other places. Does your forum offer such a feature is my question. If so I would auto feed my blog there, if not, no worries.

The series itself has King Uther(arthurs father) and its prince arthur and merlin who are both in their late teens/early 20's. It's a good show, it's like a prequel to the whole legend itself. Check it out.

It's in my signature mate. I am making a Merlin The RPG, based off of the tv show BBC's Merlin, aka The Adventure's of Merlin. Took forever to complete the database of items, skills, graphics and characters alone, working on and off of course. Fun stuff though, so many great mythos out there.

Well, I am already doing a tv series game, and i have like a dozen more ideas for tv series before I would consider that one. So I guess for now it'll stay as an idea until the day someone wants to go through with it. If you ever noticed resources that might work for a game like that, post the link and credits here, that way this thread serves a purpose. Just a thought.

I totally agree. I am a PS3 booster, and am not pro X-Box, but I most certainly am not anti it either. I am the first to admit that the kinect is better then the move (in my opinion), and that xbox's UI is much better then sony's XMB (again in my opinion). Blind hate arguments definitely help no one. That's awesome that you are one of the people starting it, I believe I have agreed with pretty much everything you have said about video games on this site. I would definitely value your opinion. I wanted to recently start a video game blog called 'Where Are They Now' and cover old titles and such, and how they should or are already coming out. Is there anyway to link blogs into your site, I would definitely remember to link it in there as well.

I have heard nothing but great things about that show. Have yet to watch it, but I intend to. I would think you could start making the game now, it'll likely take you a few months just to get the right resources, sfk, sprites, game dynamics etc etc. Then you can have a whole 'Game of Thrones Engine' done and ready and you can make infinite episodes out of it. I would think it would be worth it.

Most of us here know how much a kind word and a support system can help you get a long way with your creative aspirations. Some of you may have gotten a kind word from me, someone else on this forum, or anyone else in your life at one time or another. Those kind words we get really matter, and often times we remember the people, the time, and the places when it happened, it can really be a turning point for some. I write this now to this community as you are my community of choice for creative inspiration and direction, to ask that you help inspire a fellow aspiring independent developers such as many of us. I recently took the time to speak with my 17 year old little sister. I asked her 'what do you want to do when you're done high school?', she replied with 'produce movies'. I was excited as I had also looked into a film/acting career in my late adolescents, so I hate much advice to give her. So I said, well you know most producers start else where first, screen writing, plays, acting, anywhere they can really get in the industry. I went on to ask her, 'well do you have a youtube channel, or any videos you have made, what do you do with your spare time?'. She gave me an excuse about no free time, and how she was waiting to study it in university, and a bunch of bull. I told her, well you know there are plenty of youtube stars out there already, trying to make there dream, not to mention the people who are actually making money off of it with T-Shirt sales, and whatever else they do. I went on to tell her, well hey you need to start doing this, you are in high school which has an Audio Visual club, so why not join it, get access to thousand dollar equipment and start making movies and such for your last year of school. I told her about this site and how the people here have helped to inspire me and fuel my ambition for my own goals, and I talked about where my direction is going and how well things are going in general. I told here to look into websites that can help her learn her craft, post her craft, and talk to and share information with other people who love her craft too. Well, today I got an e-mail from my mother (how personal, jk) and it had a link to a video of my little sister. What I heard her talk about and the passion and truth I could hear in her voice, made me a little teary eyed. Here she was finally realizing she could do whatever she wanted in life she just had to work towards it and never stop for anything or anyone. Something that took me nearly 10 years after where she is now age wise, she was figuring out for herself with my help. I hadn't realized how much impact I was having on her the day I was saying it, I was just speaking from MY heart talking about my own beliefs and passion for my hobby. It's amazing how infectious dedication and passion can be. The point of all this is that I would like people here to vote for her video (if they want to) to help her get her chance to meet an inspirational idol of hers, and show her that others feel the same way she does respectively about their own passions. Please keep in mind that the quality of the video is atrocious, but it's the message/content you should be concerning yourself with. She should have asked me to help her in production but I don't think she is even far enough in the creation of her art to feel confident enough to even ask help, let alone show anyone. So I applaud her for going forth and trying to do something with her life. Here's the link. http://www.youtube.c...entries_2656_59 One inappropriate comment about my sister, and I will literally disown the person who publicly made the comment forever.
