  1. Alright, well, I'll compete then if that's OK. I'll just be by myself and won't have a team.
  2. Marked, I'm not sure if you'll get to read this or not and I'm sorry I missed the farewell party. What you built here - this community. It has seen a lot of people come and go and its sad to think that your time has come too. I know I haven't been active in a long time, but I do think of this site from time to time - its always been part of me.. Christ, it's older than my kid. That's a funny thought. Anyways, I'm terrible with words. I just wanted you to know how much this site meant to me. Thank you for being a big part of my childhood, thanks for being a cool guy, and I can't wait to read about the sites history from your perspective. If I'm in the story, please make sure to mention how insanely charming and good looking I am. I know Pol and Bob will do an awesome job filling your shoes. All the best dude!
  3. So uhhh.. Absolutely no gore whatsoever? No blood at all?
  4. Thank you for the detailed and well though out reply Ardaceus. I will definitely use the advice you so kindly dispensed. Also, I would like to see some of the maps you've drawn, if you could post them at your convenience. Thanks again for your reply!
  5. Looking for some advice and tips regarding map design. More specifically, I am trying to figure out how I want to pre-plan my maps. Should I draw them out of paper first? Should I just go with the flow? Any article on solid advice for this? I want my maps to have purpose, each one carefully tailored.
  6. A little late to the party. But cheers! What I find is crazy is that I'm sure the RPG Maker community is bigger than it's ever been due to it's official release on Steam. I wonder if forums are a dwindling format?
  7. So uh.. Do I get the OK to get my pitchfork and start lynching and committing arson?
  8. Yeah, it was sometime in 2012. That design is referenced in the "About Us" section. http://www.gdunlimited.net/about-us
  9. *Drool* Where can I get it?
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWL-h7w6jOA I was going through my old project files and found a GDU game I was working on a few years ago. Sadly, I ended up not finishing it due to being unfamiliar with the user base at the time, lack of design method on my part, and the website itself was going through a transitional period. The game itself no longer matches the look and feel of modern day GDU. Anyways, just posting because I thought others may find it interesting. Cheers!
  11. I think your mapping is fine. But I also wonder if you intend to retain things like the MP system and such? I wish their were most custom graphics so it feels more Suikoden-esqe. But I'm relating it more towards Suiko 1 & 2. I hate you Konami.. I hate you so much...
  12. You people are so much more diverse than my friend circle! Gracias, amigo.
  13. Hai Gais! I need YOU for a super Alpha game, it would only take less than 10 minutes of your time. Download Link (Press the GREY Download This File) Don't hit that green one! Sorry for the semi-shady site! After you are done playing through, please screenshot or tell me your highest score(s)! ALSO! If you'd like to go one step further, below are the abbreviations. Feel free to tell me your feelings! Weither I suck and am totally off, you feel it was accurate, or somewhere in between! Every bit helps! I apologize for poor grammar! The dialogue was written in haste!
  14. Sounds like a threeway child of Heavy Rain and the movies Se7en and Saw. It's a mild concept, I give it 2.9/5 starts. If there is an appearence of cocaine I'll give it a 3.5/5.
  15. I agree. It's bad. I read a review on Dragon Age: Inquisition and had a feature that doesn't come until much later in the game (and obviously was supposed to be a surprise) ruined for me. Evidently I am a fan of said game and have watched trailers, since Youtube is designed to show related videos, I have now had these talentless Let's Play hacks ruin the game for me by inserting spoilers in the video titles. Now while I don't outright disagree with you, I do think your focus is on the symptoms and not the problem themselves. I COULD write an 100 page essay on what I think the problems of the industry of today; trends, shortened development cycles, unnecessary multiplayer, micro transactions, DRM pushing, on disc DLC, "HD" Remasters, etc. Name your pick. I don't think there is a lack of story driven game play, I think there is a lack of GOOD story driven game play. Just remember, we have to start voting with our wallet. If a game is good, buy it, if you support DLC, then buy the DLC. Find review sites you trust and read their recommendations, get a Gamefly account, it's only $15 a month and pays for itself if you don't buy 3 full priced crappy games; conversely it can help you find great games to support that didn't have Destiny or Watchdog level advertising. If a game company keeps releasing the same shitty game every year, stop buying it unless it actually ends up being a awesome entry. This is the only way that we can get Square Enix to understand that we HATE FINAL FANTASY XIII STOP MAKING MORE OF THEM WE WANT BETTER WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ARGGHHGHGHHGHGHDGHSGHSDGLSGDGJL And finally, I'm not a big fan of the Indie scene myself but on Steam but there are some fun and amazing games out there, made by people who don't have shareholders that dictate their vision and passions. Fresh blood that isn't afraid to push gaming in a different direction, I definitely recommend checking out that scene more if you haven't already, but again, do your research and see if these people are worth investing YOUR hard earned money into.
  16. Well.. Ha, ha... You know, just in case. :youcandoit:
  17. I feel Game Jam's are most effective when you provide the mould and tell them what to build from it. You can say; only 5 maps allowed, the theme is horror, medieval fantasy, dystopian future, etc. Must be longer than 30 minutes, but no longer than an hour and a half. This could help limit the issues Marked described whilst still giving creators freedom in presentation. Judging should be scored in different areas, Music, Gameplay, Story, Sex Scenes, etc. and tallied up FTW. It would be difficult balancing limitations with multiple engines which is why I feel like it should be exclusive to one, in which case I suggest majority rules. I also vote that this should start on a Friday and end on Sunday. HEY, TOMORROW IS FRIDAY LOOKIE THERE!
  18. Nah.. Couldn't do it. Sorry human race. I tried to rationalize the need in my head over and over again. Gives me shivers. I always wondered though: Would the chance of defect decrease as generations went on, or stay the same?
  19. Like I know the difference. I like it a little better now.. Miss the Infinite GDU symbol. Are we staying with this design? I'd like to know. It's been dynamic. It sucks when you are trying to make a game about it.
  20. At first I was trying to find the About Us page because I remembered those GDU screenies. Went to Road Map and Mission Statement, thinking it was that page. Wrong pages. Found About Us. Wrong. I went to Member Map next. Why and when I clicked on it, I do not honestly remember. I was expecting something subtle, or hidden between the lines. Nope. It was just straight on the page. The End
  21. http://www.gdunlimited.net/membermap BOOM MAH NIGGAH ironically not of African Descent fellow.
