Why hello there little girl. Would you want some candy? o,..,o
-
Mhm, sure we were also playing kid games... like robin hood... Then they kept asking me when am I gonna take maid marian underneath the slide... and take her. Then there was also this one girl, bed time was a lot more fun with her... Ahh... the memories. It's really quite curious, when did we even learn about sexuality, when did we pass the line between mimicing the adults and understanding that desire, when did we learn the responsibilities and consequences that came with it?
-
Oh don't you dodge the question, you! Or we're through! Dx
-
I saw, I just don't see the point. Aren't you TRYING to get noticed?
-
And what portion would that be?

Ah, give me a break. As I specidicaly said. I'm neither stalker nor rapist. Heh, I guess I really don't feel like talking about this... But thanks for the "vote of confidence" Roocho-chan Literal translation, "Russia Contact Ju."... Lol! That's not conspicuous or anything. I think someone else is getting on one of those special lists. ;) ...by the way, what kids are you talking about? In kindergarden we had people humping their desks. Most kids are way less innocent than society wants to pretend. Also, no. If I get banned I won't bother looking for a way back. I don't have a habit of staying where I'm clearly not wanted.

...Roo...chu? What the fuck happened in the past day?
-
Should I be worried? That sounds just like stalking an ex.

Lol... and they say I'm a perv... I mention the word cute and everyone jumps into a conversation about how many girls are on the forum, and how cute they are. To be honest it was pretty hard getting what's going on, watching the video on mute. 'Cause my laptop is always muted. I have to say that part where she's googling baguettes made me chuckle. I never really realized frenchies were THAT obsessed with it. Though... Out of context, her being a girl... Just what are you planning to do with that baguette!? ...May I recommend a stale one? Nice and hard, and they will retain their shape after... use. x) ... ... Well, you guys shouldn't have started me up. It's obvious who's the master perv around here. :D Back to your hidy holes, peons. :u

Well... I was checking out the art section to see if there are any active artists on the forum. ...For my new gallery. Apparently not. I did come across this topic though. And when I saw Mark's comment I just had to respond, my honnor demanded it.

Damn, that sounds pompous... Well... among the other things I also dabble into drawing, sketching by hand mostly. It's nothing special, but it's getting somewhere, so I'd like to share my pride with the world. All I ask of you is to look and to enjoy. And to discuss and evaluate each picture. Share your opinion, choose favorites and defend them. Etc. I'll start off by dumping those that I am currently proud of. And will be adding new ones every once in a blue moon, when I feel like drawing. Now, now, Marky. Don't go abusing your owner powers like that, or I might just demote you. x)

Lmfao, shut the fuck up you! >_< What's wrong with chasing all the girls on the website? By the way ya'll gang up on me I'd think you're jelly? *smirk* ps: I just saw it. She's a cutie too. ;D

What brought you to this site? Google. Video games have always been my passion, so I figured it would be a good way to make a living. My current community was a small team dedicated to a free fan game. Realizing that I cannot achieve my goal there I set out to prove my potential to the world. I found this place. Why did you decide to make an account and actually post? Particularly one script that had a small bug which caused it to crash. But to post the solution I had to register... I didn't really approve, but after having a look I quickly realized this community was friendly. So I joined in and fixed the script, and started poking around. Why are you still here? 'Cause it's the only place that will have me. x3 During the countless arguments I made some friends. The place grew on me, and now... every now and then I return with another attempt at world conquest. ps: I guess a little time in the chat can incite a person to great deeds. Eh, Pol?

I wonder... what exactly defines member activity? Well... in light of our goal of helping people develop games. We are gonna need new ways of measuring value. This is where the points system comes in, I guess. It creates common measuring means. But that's rather secondary. First the foundation, I wonder would it be unrealistic to create a stand alone application, like Steam? I suppose so. The website will have to do. But rather than developing web based tools for freelancers to create content with, perhaps we should find a way to encorporate the ones that already exist. By running an executable for example. Our system should only be concerned with providing organization, of the tools which people use. Otherwise we are gonna end up in a race situation against people who have been doing for years what we are just starting. Okay, I'm a random guy who wants to be a game developer. I will try to get a team together, but I will get ignored because I haven't proven myself. Then I will try to join a team, but I will get rejected because I don't know how to do anything. .What is our solution? Well, we want a social oriented system.which uses the advantages of a website. I guess this is where we can explore the possibility of a tutoring system. ...But we are jumping ahead-- We have no people to take the necessary roles. I guess we can try creating a centralized tutorial, as opposed to having countless random totorials, of uncertain quality. The part that requires web development is organizing the list of tutorials. How about something like a "research tree"? Where all the tutorials are organized in a draggable research tree, you have to go through the tutorials in order, unlocking them bit by bit. Each lesson can give you GDU points, enable more tutorials and give you a custom title.
-
Well I tried to keep the conversation summerized in the beginning, but that only led to my posts getting ignored. The way I see it everyone is looking for what's gonna benefit THEM the most. The old members want features that will make it easier for them to spread their projects about. The new members want features that will help them complete their games. Nobody besides me is suggesting anything that will attract freelancers. And without the freelancers our current problem will not get resolved, so all the other features are premature. The ideas that have been introduced aren't bad, they just won't have much effect in our situation. And since the conversation has luled again, I figure it's time to push my ideas through. If anyone has anything against them they should speak, if not we should get working on a concrete plan. I know Mark wanted to leave it up to us, but I can see that the weight of his word helps us focus our ideas in a single direction. That's why I'm asking for his interference.
-
Well Mark, this is where you talk. We need to attract freelancers, I told you what they are looking for. And that's where you come in. You're the only person around who can do the coding for these features.

My logic is that while people are going through the tutorials they are going to need help, and they are going to get it right here, on the forum. It will cause them to be more active, and hopefully stick around and return the favor. Another point I want to make is-- if I can find what I need without talking to anyone, I'm not gonna talk to anyone. So having the solutions permanently available is gonna reduce the amount of people who look for help. But if we put that idea on hold... We need something that will give us immediate active memberships. That means a motive. So, what can we do to motivate skilled people to come to us and help with requests? Well a project management system will help... the developers, not the freelancers. So, if I'm a freelancer what do I want? To keep track of my work, my work history, my associates, my ranking among the competition, and advertisment of my services to thousands upon thousands of potential employers.
-
Well, tutorials is probably a good place to start, since we ourselves(well me personally) need to adapt our XP exp to Ace exp. This will also allow us to educate the visiting newbies into the future generation of gdu.
-
Well, this has made one thing clear to me-- We should focus on Ace. It is accessible, popular, and a big source of traffic for us. I'd rather cut off xp and vx simply to avoid expending energy in maintaining things that aren't as beneficial. We don't really have the luxory of squandring our resources. Letting them to continue to rot is fine too... but generally you wanna remove a necrosed limb.
-
I don't see the point in advertising the forum, we are already on top of the google search, if people don't come here now they never will. Yeah we can use a bit of optimization, but first we need to decide IF we are gonna continue supporting the same outdated engines. No point in optimizing the forum then deciding we don't wanna support half the engines and having to rearrange it again.
-
Well, there is the risk of people precieving it as badgering them. But given the right approach, it will create an interaction between "the website" and it's users. Strengthening the bonds within the group, which has it's own benefits, like increasing motivation, cooperation, loyalty. Improving the efficiency and quality of the recruitment process. Further more, I plan to help people actively seek out team members, as opposed to waiting on a random topic to yield results. And it's certainly hard enough to find people, without turning out that the position I'm searching for is already filled, or otherwise closed. You are looking at it the wrong way. Instead of saying, "we have nothing to offer", you should ask, "what CAN we offer". And the simplest answer to that is credit. In addition to the credit you get in the project you work on, we can keep another set of credits, as an additional incentive. It will also function as a failsafe, because you will get credited for your work, even if the original project gets abandoned somewhere along the way. On a side note, we can also subsidize projects so they can pay freelancers, of course that's not a viable option unless we have a source of income ourselves. In any case, I'm a strategist, not really good at getting things done. But sometimes you just gotta take your strategy upon your own shoulders, and carry it to fruition before anyone believes in it. Only reason I'm actually discussing this is, because people believe in authority. If I have a way to prove that I'm officially doing this, people should be more accepting of a random person asking them to do stuff they don't understand or care about.
-
Hmm... allow me make one concrete suggestion. I want a new moderation task to be added, to keep in touch with project teams, to make sure that the recruitment topics are kept updated. Naturally, I'm ready to take on that responsibility personally, and immediately.
-
Tck tck tck. I know you're all eager to place your suggestions out there, but I think we need to make sure we agree on where our focus should lie. Otherwise, we aren't gonna do anything more than throw some random ideas out there, before the topic dies out. - Which is already happening. "Power without direction is chaos.", and that is certainly what we are having here. If nobody else is gonna speak out, I suppose I will continue my train of thought. I think we should focus on actively seeking out skilled people on the internet, and provide them with the opportunity to get involved in various projects requiring their skill. This will help us create connections with said skilled people, And the reputation of helping people find work will attract more creators to our side. This does beg the question, though, what kind of skilled people should we get involved with? Coders? Writers? Artists? Composers? And which style of completing each task? I suppose the propper answer would be all of the above... Hmm, we started with having too many requests and not enough people to fulfill them. A simple solution to a simple problem. "If you can't do it yourself, find someone else to get it done."
