  1. @Marked Isn't this your first website?

  2. Reward: A phoneless cord, a bladeless knife without a handle and a sultana. Quest: Find a legitimate DVD outlet in Bali
  3. So, what is the worst RMXP game that you have ever played? For me, I have two: 1.) Aveyond Games - All of them. Please don't flame me for this, as the games themselves actually aren't bad, but I really don't know why anyone in the right mind would sell an RMXP-made game. There have been better community projects, so I really wonder why Aveyond sells so well - just people curious about a commercial RMXP game I suppose. 2.) Bladefire - What is this? A really bad RMXP game that I made when I was 9/10. When I made this, I had had some exposure to scripts, but I had never -Played anybody else's games -Viewed any tutorials on mapping whatsoever (my mapping is better today, but it still sucks) -Planned any aspect - I just made it up as I went along. Maybe one day I might upload it as a bit of a joke.
  4. Hello all, This is going to seem a bit silly, but I have lost the original installers for all my RMXP Utilities. At the moment, I am setting up a personal site which will list all the projects I am/have been working on. These projects include EXTREMELY bad games that I made in succession around three years ago and non-rmxp related apps. Obviously, as the DM is down, I need will to reupload my apps (to FileSavr - they allow 10GB for free and have memorizable URLs!), but I can't find the original installers! If you are reading this and you have one or more of the original installers, could you please send them to me? Thanks a million.
  5. Sometimes I wonder how people get viruses, as I have never had any....... but I don't download stuff illegally and I scan everything with three scanners, regardless of the source. Do you guys mainly get viruses from crack/warez sites?
  6. The currency of Australia is Australian dollars, but the prices I have shown for Steam and D2D are converted into AU$ from US$ already.
  7. I recently received an app request for an app that auto-saves a specific project every 5 minutes or so when it is open. There is one way that this might be possible, so I thought I might ask for some help. When RMXP loads a project, there must be some temporary RGSS files that are saved somewhere in order for the program to store temporary information (database changes, new maps, etc). If I am able to find these files, then I could make an auto-save utility. Does anyone know if RMXP generates such files? EDIT: And if so, where does it store them? Just a note, don't expect this in a while, as I am prioritizing on the game I am making with Gary at the moment.
  8. As you may know by looking at my signature, I am in the process of making a game based on Doctor Who (with Gary the Duck), which will roughly be based around the unseen "time war" between the old and new series Click here for more info on the project itself. Anyway, one of the resources that we most certainly be needed is an interior tileset of the TARDIS, so this thread is a request for that very resource. I would prefer to use the first new series interior design, here are some pictures: NOTE: If you want a really indepth look at the TARDIS then watch some Doctor Who episodes from the David Tennant era. In terms of size, it would need to be big enough to fill more than a "standard map", but not force the player to have so much scrolling that walking around the TARDIS becomes tedious. This would need to be custom made, so if anyone could help with this, I would be extremely grateful. Thankyou.
  9. Okay. In terms of the content (without mods, just as it ships) what is the gore comparable to? By that, I mean is it comparable to Oblivion, or is it as gory as say Bioshock for instance.
  10. After reading my little "annoyed scribble", could you please tell me whether you think EB Games is overpricing? Thanks. I am very annoyed about this. You see, Australia has a little habit of having only one or two big brands that dominate an entire market. For instance, across the whole of Australia we only have three main supermarket chains, which all rake in huge amounts of dosh and undercut farmers by paying them less and less. The video game selling industry is very much the same, except as I am living in a town hours away from a city, the only place I am able to buy games (physically) from is EBGames. Now, EBGanes (obviously) is a chain of video game distributors, but unlike in other countries, EBGames virtually owns all the game shops I have ever come across both in Perth, where I live and in other states. The irritating thing is that EB know for a fact that they practically run the industry and Western and Southern Australia, so they pump their prices up ridiculously high, simply because in many places, EB is the only place where they can buy games. I have some examples here: (When they first came out this is what these games cost on PC): Empire Earth III: $90 COD 4 MW 2: $110 The Sims 3: $100 (This is a right shocker:) Dragon Age Origins (No Expansions): $130 Also, virtually every new game on XBOX360 or PS3 will be at, over or just below $100 Personally, I think that game retailers really overprice nowadays, so I now buy games of Steam and Direct2Drive, as even when you convert the $US to $AU, most games still work out cheaper. These are those same games (if available) with their Steam/Direct2Drive prices (whichever is cheaper) converted to $AU. Also, I can guarantee you that where I live most of these prices will still be the same, as sometimes they do not change for years. Empire Earth III: Not Available COD 4 MW 2: $64 The Sims 3: $52 Dragon Age Origins: $52 I found that in the most part, if you go to other stores, the prices are usually cheaper, especially in Eastern Australia. Because of this overpricing, I now using Steam and Direct2Drive to get games (Steam is my first preference, but if a game I want isn't available on Steam, I will obtain it from D2D) So, is EB overpriced? PS: If anyone uses Steam, post your username (on steam) and I will add you. My account name is "henryfagan" (without quotes)
  11. A game I am thinking of purchasing off Steam or Direct2Drive is Dragon Age: Origins. Click here to read my little rant on why I won't buy DA or any other game from a store unless I have to. Anyway, -What is it like?/Is it any good? It certainly looks good from the screenies I've seen. -What kind of combat system does it have? -About how long will it immerse you for? -What kind of content is in the game (by that, I mean content in terms of violence, sexual content, goriness, etc) - as there is no demo, I need to determine whether I would be allowed to play it. -Is there a demo available? (a link would help) Thanks
  12. Sorry, discussing pirated... stuff is against the rules as far as I know. What show were you talking about anyway?
  13. They are actually .exe files. The download manager seems to do that for some reason. What you need to do is right click the downloaded file, go into properties and remove the .HQX extension and change it to ".EXE" (or ".ZIP" if that applies to the specific case.
  14. For a while now, I have had the "You are being monitored" sign as my avatar, but I am thinking of changing it. I like my avatars to be comical, so my current ideas are: >Some text saying "Insert Insult Here", against a white background >A graphic with an arrow pointing down at the next poster that reads "I'm with stupid" >A cabbage with an angry face drawn on it in paint. >A picture of Kevin Rudd, defaced with fake mustaches and a cigarette in his mouth >A message which reads "I'm not lazy, I just find exercise uninteresting!" What do you think? Should I go with one of these avatars or stick with my current one.
  15. Yes! I am the only one here who drinks diet drinks! I will also drink most things, except alcohol.
  16. I don't think he is really that active now. I apologize if this sounds a bit out of place, but for future reference you should never pay for something before you receive it. Anyway, I don't know what his problem with finishing your script is. What did you actually ask him to make?
  17. @ Broken Messiah Sorry, I am going to add your battlers to the DB tommorow. I keep forgetting, as I have a lot of stuff on at the moment.
  18. If you have an XP install disc, then you can use a free program called Sun Virtualbox (Google it) to boot Windows XP inside a virtual environment. Once you get XP running in Virtual Box, just install RMXP and activate it in your virtual machine.
  19. Hello everyone. I was wondering if you guys could tell me how good my laptop is, in terms of it's specs and whether those specs are outdated or not, etc. I got this PC for my birthday a few years ago, and the graphics card has blown twice on it about once every 10 months or so and if it burns out again, I get a new PC!) At the time that I got it, this computer was meant to be a "gaming PC", but now I am not so sure, seeing as the new family PC's score for gaming graphics is 6.0 (this new PC is not even supposed to be a gaming PC!) My Specs: HP Pavillion dv9700 notebook PC Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate) Intel Core Duo 2 CPU 4GBs RAM DirectX 11 NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS Realtek High Definition Audio Windows Experience Index: Processor: 6.1 Memory: 6.1 Graphics (Aero): 5.0 Gaming Graphics: 4.3 Hard Drive: 5.2 So are my specs outdated? Is this as good as you can get with a laptop?
  20. I had the same thing once myself, I think that it was caused by a Windows Update if I remember rightly. Go into Windows Save and Restore and try restoring Windows to a point before these problems began to occur. If it works, make sure you set Windows Update to not download and install updates automatically.
  21. Hey guys, what forum(s) do you think is/are the strictest around? So far I have come up with the following list: Microsoft Forums: Anyone who posts ANYTHING containing (even) a reference to a non-microsoft product (e.g: why can't microsoft "X" have "Y" feature like product "Z") gets an automatic ban and the post is deleted. The Game Creators Forum: Every post has to be approved by a moderator before it can be posted. You can receive warnings and even bans for posting a topic in the wrong forum. The Nexus Forums: The depressing way that moderators word goodbye messages to those they have banned. Most will look something like this (and will be posted openly in a thread):
  22. No, it was based on an original story. Aftereffects of roast dinner.
  23. Okay, everyone seems to be doing this so.... get with the questions everyone.
  24. I agree with Pol, but many people don't realize that many of these animated movies are actually aimed at 9-14 year olds anyway. It seems that many adults have a pre-conception that any animated or cartoon film is made for really young children, therefore older people should not be watching it.
