[DEVELOPMENT - XP] Doctor Who - The Time War RPG
evil cabbage posted a topic in Early in Development
Hello All! Welcome to the first ever RMXP project that I will be working on: Doctor Who - The Time War RPG. For those who do not know, Doctor Who is a science fiction television series that currently airs on the bbc. Here's the website: www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho (Please note that you may feel a little alienated if you have never heard of doctor who, so you may want to find some episodes to watch on Youtube.) As the name suggests, this game is going to be set around the unseen "Time War" in between the old and new series of Doctor Who It is going to be split into 12 chapters or "episodes" that span the story of the game (all of these will be in the one game, you understand.) Rough Synopsis This game will cover the story of Doctor Who from the start and end of the time war. I will be using an unseen (my own) incarnation of The Doctor between McGann and Eccelston for the gist of the game. The companion's name is going to be "Luna". Rough Storyline of the first "chapter" WARNING SPOILERS INSIDE!! Doctor Who – The Time War RPG Complete Synopsis Contains the storyline and all the “main quests”, side quests may be added later Written by evil cabbage Episode 1 - Strangers -
File Name: RMXP Pool - The Easy Way to Find, Share and Download RMXP Resources File Submitter: evil cabbage File Submitted: 20 Dec 2009 File Category: Tools & Utilities (Please note that the screenshot shown is of beta v0.1.0.0, the current version is v1) For the past month, I have been developing a program called RMXP Pool. Concept: Basically, it works like this. Have you ever tried to find RMXP resources and spent hours browsing through forums and then finding a broken download link? And then, the author doesn't leave terms and conditions of use? (I certainly have) Well the idea of this program is to make browsing and downloading RMXP resources much much easier for everyone. What do you do with it? Basically, you start by selecting the type of resource that you are looking for (animations, charsets, scripts, music, etc). Once you do this, you are shown a list of available resources in that category. You can quickly view original forum threads about the resource, view screenshots or download the resource. When you click "Download this Item" a dialog pops up with the terms of use that the author has specified. If you agree to the author's terms then the resource that you chose is downloaded quickly and DIRECTLY (no internet pages involved) to the following directory: C:\ My RMXP Pool Downloads. To sum it up, it's like Scrive, but for all types of RMXP resources. Click here to download this file

Other people are actually entering the competition. There has been one entry already posted and another guy is in the process of making his entry, although I haven't seen it yet.

For a while now, I have been making a program called RMXP Pool. To put it in a short sense, it's like Scrive, but it is for all RMXP elelments as well as scripts. You can view a lot more information here: www.rmxp-pool.com - click "Information" (I would have put that info in a spoiler but I'm not sure how to do that on these forums). The problem is that the database is built from people choosing to submit resources tthat they have made; and to make this program worthwhile, I am going to need lots of resources of any type. So, if you have made RMXP resources, then I am asking that you would kindly allow them to be included in the database of downloads in RMXP Pool- If you want to see what RMXP Pool looks like then you can either look at the screenies on the website or download the current version of the program (from the "Downloads" page on rmxp-pool.com How to add a resource you have made to the program: Go to http://rmxp-pool.com/submissionform.htm and fill out the form. Many thanks to everyone who rreads this!

There is now a beta version of v0.1 of RMXP Pool available for download! It features: -15 scripts, available for download -A BETA version of RMXP Pool Updater -The new redesigned interface As this BETA, is mainly for fixing bugs that involve the submissions of members; you currently must be a member on the RMXP Pool site (www.rmxpool.webs.com) to download it. With any luck, the proper v0.1 release will be available within 1-2 weeks time, and will be available to both members and non-members.

For the past 3-4 weeks, I have been working on a software utility for RPG Maker XP called RMXP Pool. Basically, it's like Scrive (Scrive is a program which lists loads of scripts and their download links), but you can also search through a library of other resources such as battlers, characters and background music; as well as scripts. RMXP Pool also allows you to download resources for RMXP directly through the program itself, without opening a browser window. You can view a few screenies here: www.rmxpool.webs.com/screenshots.htm Currently there are 2 downloads available: 1.) A tech-demo which basically shows you how the program works (www.rmxpool.webs.com/downloads.htm) 2.) A BETA of version 0.1 in which you can download from a library of 15 scripts. (as it is a BETA, member login is required) (www.rmxpool.webs.com/downloads.htm) The library is made of resources that people have chosen to submit resources they have made to RMXP Pool. As I want to really expand this library, I would love for anyone to submit resources they have made to me, or give me feedback on the program or suggest ways I could really build up this library
