  1. forest making advice IN 30 EASY STEPS w/ SODA! Obtain Soda Obtain another Soda Open up a new map and make it relatively small 20 by 15 recomended set it to the tileset you want to use copy this map into 6 maps forest entrace/exit, forest center, forest entrance/exit 1, forest /entranceexit 2, secret area/dead end, plain on first map fill first layer with grass go to 3rd and sporadically put trees go for at least 12-20 let them overlap in your free space put extra items flowers, mushrooms, happy tree friends Proceed to taste soda Sip soda, become suspicious, then shrug it off and continue on the second layer put the parts of the trees that were cut off this will give the effect that the trees are covered, DO NOT PUT THE WHOLE TREE, this waste layering instead put a blood thirsy squirell on the second layer and a branch on the third layer, so it looks good Utilize free space for crowding the map, you want to have it form sort of a path leading to the entraces and exits of that map, You can use the 4 the layer(event layer) to add dynamic item:Animals or to act as a 4th mapping layer if you used up all the other 3 using the event layer if using as 4th map layer use it sparingly, because you have to make sure the event doesn't mess with forest interaction, block path etc. drink soda Take Break Repeat steps 6-12 for each map, adjusting the "Path and Open spots" in each map example: Forest center will have a open middle area with entrances on most sides enclosed by objects, Dead end will only have one entrace and exit and be enclosed, the entrance can be hidden via tree cover(tileset events with tree alwas on top) Make a 7th map large enough to carry all of your map parts. Name it Forest :lol: It will be the actual map Using the pencil tool copy and paste each layer of each map to there respective place in 7th map Drink soda(it should be finished after this point Using a pencil tool tip select the grass tile and create paths linking the parts of the forest together, try and make it as sporadic as possible but make it rational as well. no straight lines, and no squigillys Open second can of soda. At the intersections of each of these paths you can either leave it as is, or widen it as to make it is on area. surrond the paths with trees and tree cover, on third layer and throw in some foresty objects visible to the path, make it so that the path is 30-60% visible. Make sure it is not possible for the player to leave the path. Hidden paths can be made for hidden areas, see hidden exit in step 13 Soda... on the third layer fill in the gaps that the paths surrond with tree cover Soda Test Play Soda Fix Glitches Test Play Soda Happy Dance EXTRA:When you add events, that are important, teleport events, bgm etc. not just for display, give the event a name so its easier to identify EXTRA:Finish Soda

Go to material base, export the tilesets you want, open paint, open up the 1st tile set, take the bottom edge and drag it down to the length of the second tile set(note, find out the pixel height of your 2nd tileset by using the properties selection(right click file))MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE WIDTH you can tell the width has been changed if you see white on the edges of the top tileset) once it reaches the correct height(when increasing the height of the picture in paint the increase is shown on the right side of the bottom toolbar) paste it in. Select the background color of one and change it to match the other one try andhave a simple background color so it does not messup ur tileset of the save it as png anyname u like preferably tileset 1andtileset2 etc. You cansave it directly into the graphics/tileset folder of your game or import it by going to materialbase > tilesets> then import navigate to the folder u saved it in and import it. Then go to database copy the tileset that you imported first and or put at the very top of your new multi tileset, and paste it somewhere else, preferably an empty spot,change its name to "tileset name" and select the tileset you imported, finnally, the longest part is to manually match the other tilesets to have the same characteristics as the original. Even though it contains the graphic file, it won't contain the map/terrain info like passability, you have to set that your self

  4. :D I really like your graphics the CMS and Title Screen are Awesome I have some advice, you know for story plot. If you make back stories for your characters you can create sub plots from those back stories and use those sub plots to warp your story so it becomes more intricate. As Of now I though I like the overview of the plot. When can I expect a demo?

(Double post due to being self resolved) I found out how to do it by my self its $game_temp.common_event_id = Its pointless to use in a Event call script command cause all it does is the same thing that call common event does. You put in the script and when thats activated it will bring up the common event

  7. @DrakeClawfang Dude, you do realize your still at fault for spreading misinformation. I know you can't trust whats on the 50% on the web, but when you do make stuff up like that, it lowers the credibility of valid sites, and makes people more reluctant to search for information on the web. Which along with communication is the most important function of the internet. You should've expected people would be really angry at you because they were decived by you. I'm naturally skeptical and I hardly believe anything when I see regardless of where I get my information, some people like Crimson, are alot more trusting and wouldn't expect it if they weren't looking for it. I'm not saying you should say I'm sorry, nor should she have to forgive you. But what you shouldn't have done is responded here, its really pointless to make an account just for that reason. Especially in a technical forum(where people want to work or design RPGMAKER games) You probably don't care if Crimson gets pissed off and your response is not going to justify you and just piss her off even more. This is how flame wars get started. @Crimson I recommend you not reply to him and if you do, do it while controlling your anger, rationally. In fact just completly disregard paying attention to him, thats most likely what he wants. BACK@DrakeClawfang If you deny not wanting her attention, not wanting any of our attention, or not trying to justify actions to the people who have read her comment about you, then you have just eliminated any possible rational motives for your total posts or making an account for that matter. This is unless of course you plan to make a game with RPGMAKER XP/VX, then I suggest you introduce yourself in the welcome thread. If none of these are the case than the reason you did this was the simple childish motive that you are mad at her for saying mean things about you because you made her mad.
  8. I really have no scripting expertise at all So when I decided to add an extra Icon to it, I doubted that I could. I ws successful however, and able to create the Log Option, which will act as the characters journal. The problem is I don't know how to script one of those, especially already inside of another script, rather, I would like to event this system, which would be very easy very quick and very effective for me to do. The problem is alough the icon is there, it won't do anything because it has no functions. What i want the Log Icon to do is to call the Log Common event, which will be seperate from the menu and once exited the menu will still function correctly. I need to be able to call this common event from a script.

Creation Modes Easy Intermediate Advanced and you can switch b/w them for what ever Easy mapping with advanced database control on, which you can switch whenever yah want Inproved Map explorer, instead of the file tree system you could have a GUI where you could link maps together via teleport built in sprite/pixel editor ability to load and open swf files in game 1 click game installation custom icons, built in unlimted party members/levels built in varied MS and BS MORE RTP ReSOURCES for all different places and TIme Periods think thats about it oh yah and 3-d Support
  10. Well, The reason It doens't move me is exactly because of that. I understand that... But People die all the time, and I bet there are many people who are sad because of their parent's death. The only reason that fictional character moved me was because it was an extraordinary hellish expereince. I'd rather have a fictional character go through that torment then see a human suffer through something as equally tramatizing. REAL pain is conveyed through insubstantial emotion, which doesn't only exist in the physical world. I feel sorry for the girl yes, I like Micheal Jackson yes But The way I see It if I have to be sad for their loss why shouldn't I be sad for the other fathers who die every day. I don't live my life like that. Furthermore, the main reason it moved me was because I had learned about the character and they had a breakthrough. Isn't it rational to feel for someone or something that you know or understand more about. What really pisses me off is how the same people who accused Micheal Jackson of being a Molestor are now reverering him now that he is gone. My Heart isn't that wishy washy like most people. And Even Worse, Who GIVES A DAMN, what they did for him. IT WAS AFTER HE DIED THAT PEOPLE STARTED to feel sorry. What would have moved me was that if Paris had said what she did when he was alive. Most people now a days don't do that. Cherishing should be at its greatest when its there, cause that when it matters the most. I don't want to live with regret knowing that I waited till after my dad died to tell him I love him with tears in my eyes! To me Paris has an excuse, because she is a child, so she didn't know it could happen. But what about everybody else in Jackson's Life?! That's what saddened me, it wasn't his death but his life. EMOTION is REAL regardless of where it is, if feeling more emotion from a fictional character rather than someone else is fucked up, than honestly I don't give a damn.

I'm one of those people who aren't conventionally moved. It takes alot more effort to move me. In fact: during the micheal jackson memorial service, I had to supress my urge to insult him on the chat so much so that I couldn't type anything. I'm not a fan of melancholy so thats probably y. There are people like me who could just be bored but not have the willpower, the sincerity,or the forethought to see how the affect others.   15. All of the above, I like to make dynamic characters. How the player views them throught out the story. IF The player sees them as good close to the end they will normal be killed become evil become neutral end up in the sequel if bad changed killed become good then killed become the main character in the sequel if neutral will not die will acheive goals pick a side dissapear and reappear in the sequel But i am a firm believer in benifit of the doubt If a characters personality changes or emerges, it will have a cause, that forces the player to reconsider how they see them That way they won't know what to expect. Even the nicest person in the story could be come sadistacly psychopathic in my stories
  16. that was it I wanted to see if some boy would point that out, the real question i have is that is zero really a value or is it a concept like infinity, because we treat it like a value, in mathematics. But technically its a value of nothing. I guesss its a good thing that we cant divide by zero because then 1 would really equal to or n=all real numbers in any other value n/n=1 but in 0/0= it would be undefined but couldnt it be argued that it equals 0. If you have nothing and divide it among nothing then you will have nothing. That should mean it is possible to divide 0 by 0 only. But if 0/0 doesn't = 1 then what kind of value is that? at the same time if you have nothing and divide it among nothing then you will have something? Which sounds like theology(creationism-something from nothing)which leaves the realm of the natural and enters the supernatrual, where math doesn't function correctly anymore. :o see what I'm saying

  22. I had a dream so real once, it felt like an out of body experince I say that mainly because in my dream I was a totatly different person. I was like some girl that tried to commit suicide by drowning herself :huh: And I had never seen that person ever, I was actually scared I was going to drown, It was as if the I being this person couldn't get up and out of the water, and just lay there, when I woke up, I was out of breath. 2 or 3 years later, I saw on that show 1000 ways to die, some lady died similarly like that with botox. The only difference was that the girl was younger, blonde, and not poisoned. It really freaked me out.
