The question, more or less, revolves around what all scripts the CBS edits, or overwrites which methods; and how clean the code is.

It is tricky finding a good CBS written by someone who keeps the code neat, and only edits, not overwrites most methods.

Nope, we are still waiting on people to post their ideas...I might add a deadline soon, though, if still no one posts any

This is how projects die.

Lack of communication, and lack of progress. We should never be "waiting".

On that note, I am not submitting a story.

I heard Kiriashi was woring on a story.

he said he was,he even called my story an out-dated cliche by comparison.

That's why i was waiting to see what his story idea was,to see how great it is.

So while waiting for the storyline, let's go pick a name and personality since those two are a tie right now.

I like the "Crafty,quick-witted,and cunning. The ideal thief." personality, and Valerie for her name.

Two months and no story? There really needs to be some action taken now if this project is going to even get to rpg maker.

Why not elect a story writer? If no ones posting ideas, then they are the ones missing out by not having their ideas involved. Besides, the elected writers story can always be altered afterward.

How about we let you two work on a story, and everyone votes for the one that they think is better, will that work?

I like that idea, sort of. Its a good idea, but I don't know if I can still get a story written. It takes a lot of time. :|

I wish, like I said, that there was 60 hours in a day.

I'll make a story then (with the help of a certain generator), and we can all modify it later. How does that sound? Anyway, here it is..........

You begin the game as Valerie, a villager with dreams of greater things. You have been raised in a small town but have always aspired to be a world-renowned adventurer. One day you are out gathering firewood, and you return to find your town under attack by heavily-armored soldiers. You valiantly try to defend your town, but there are simply too many of them. You are forced to flee or you will certainly die from the enemy onslaught. With the help of a dashing rogue with a quick wit and a relatively lenient tutorial level you manage to fight your way to safety, but you can only watch as your town is pillaged and burned.

Desperate for answers, you and the dashing rogue with a quick wit decide that the best course of action would be to travel to the home of an old Sage Wizard. You head out immediately, battling a few small groups of spear-carrying goblin wolf riders along the way. Luckily none of them seem to be too much trouble and in a short time you arrive at the Wizard's home a few Experience Points richer.

You share your story with the Sage Wizard, who listens with great interest. After hearing your tale and witnessing a strange sign from the heavens it becomes clear that you, Valerie, are the Chosen One mentioned in an ancient prophecy; the one who will either bring lasting peace to the kingdom... or tear it apart. Next, the Sage Wizard informs you that the attack on your town was not a random event, but rather that the heavily-armored soldiers were actually looking to eliminate you before you could realize your destiny and the role you will play in shaping the future of the kingdom.

Then the Sage Wizard informs you that the mighty army of a power-hungry foreign King is consolidating its power and will stop at nothing to conquer the kingdom. Currently, the evil King is searching for four mysterious relics that, according to legend, will make him and his forces completely unstoppable. Of course, the Sage Wizard says that you and the dashing rogue with a quick wit are the only ones capable of stopping this evil force. Motivated by a sense of duty as the Chosen One, you agree to seek out the four relics and claim them before they fall into the evil King's hands. Once you have them in your possession, you can bring them back to the Wizard's home and the Sage Wizard will seal them away forever. To assist you in your mission, the Sage Wizard introduces you to a unassuming chick who is actually the Emperor's daughter who will aid you on your epic quest. Ready for action, you gear up and head out immediately to fulfill your destiny.

Your search for the first relic takes you to an abandoned settlement of nomads, where you fight through waves of mutant scorpions and giant spiders before finally battling the spirit of an ancient chieftain. Along the way, you come across the tiny home of a neurotic mage who is always losing things, who agrees to let you rest there to heal your wounds. Upon hearing your story, the neurotic mage who is always losing things decides that fate has brought you together and he agrees to join you in your mission.

With the first boss defeated, your ever-growing party visits a town where you upgrade some of your weapons and equipment and take a trip to a seedy local tavern. Inside, you see a barbarian warrior from an untamed warlike society sitting at a table challenging all comers to a test of strength. Intrigued by the prospect of adding a character such as him to your party, you slip on your newly acquired Ring of Strength +5 and step up to the table. Using the ring, you are easily able to win the match. Impressed by your display of raw power, the barbarian warrior from an untamed warlike society decides to aid you in your quest.

After outfitting your team with as many upgrades and healing items as you can afford, you then head off to an underwater cavern where you face some undead drowned sailors from a long-lost shipwreck and stronger giant spiders. The second relic is guarded by a giant crab-like sea monster. After some difficulty, you emerge victorious from this encounter.

As you leave this realm, you meet a powerful cleric outcast from his order who claims he had an important holy symbol stolen from him by monsters. Luckily, you just so happen to have found this item in the last level. You give the powerful cleric outcast from his order the holy symbol and in exchange for your help, he agrees to join up with your group.

With two of the five relics in your possession, you set off to continue your mission. However, before you can get far, your entire party is ambushed and captured by a corrupt local magistrate. You and your party are thrown into jail where you meet a notoriously elusive thief-illusionist who you quickly become friends with. As luck would have it, he is actually the leader of a notorious thieves' guild currently on the way to rescue him. Before long, the notorious thieves' guild shows up and there is a brief level where you all break out of the prison. When you finally get to safety, the notoriously elusive thief-illusionist decides to join you and help you complete your mission.

With your party now complete, you venture to another town to replenish your supply of healing potions and learn a few new spells for your magic-using characters. At a nearby tavern you encounter a well-meaning Centaur who apparently got himself into a little bit of trouble with a local group of thugs. Talking to him opens up an exciting open-ended side quest where you can either help him solve his problems or sell him out for some extra cash. Being the honorable hero that you are, you of course decide to tell the thugs to lay off the Centaur. They try to fight you, but you slaughter them easily. This quest is simple and ultimately pointless, but for all you know it could have far-reaching potential to the outcome of your story. You encounter a couple more strikingly similar moral dilemmas along the way, but eventually stop caring enough to waste your time listening to everyone's problems.

You continue your quest for the mysterious relic, this time journeying to a forest made up of hundred foot tall trees, where hordes of poisonous spore-shooting plant creatures and the spiked vines and gnashing teeth of a carniverous plant are waiting for you. At first these stronger enemies beat your ass, forcing you to return to the World Map to try and raise your Experience by slaughtering some less-powerful royal assassins. However, in your aimless wandering you also come across a Masterwork Spear of Butchering +1 in a super-secret hidden treasure chest, which helps you even the odds and recover the third relic with little difficulty.

As soon as you take possession of the third relic, you are shown a brief cutscene where your party is confronted by the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King, who was sent by the evil King to take the relics from you. There is a brief battle, and you are able to defeat him far more easily than you would have expected to. However, he is merely wounded and escapes the battle with some witty banter about how he'll be ready for you next time.

Unfazed by your encounter, your party pushes on to find the final relic, this time journeying to a dark wooded cemetary. There you encounter zombies that rise up out of the ground before a confrontation with the physical embodiment of Death. This level is incredibly difficult and insanely long, but you eventually manage to get through it. With all the relics in your possession, you set out for the Wizard's home to seal them away forever and prevent anyone from ever obtaining such incredible power.

During your journey, you've managed to make small talk with your party members and at various taverns and towns throughout the kingdom you've been able to complete small mini-quests for the unassuming chick who is actually the Emperor's daughter, the neurotic mage who is always losing things, the barbarian warrior from an untamed warlike society, the powerful cleric outcast from his order and the notoriously elusive thief-illusionist that have ultimately made their lives complete and made them completely loyal to you and your cause. After the last level though, you are given a touching cut-scene where the dashing rogue with a quick wit finally professes his undying love for you. Before you can return the sentiment though, your party comes under attack from the forces of the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King. Your team scrambles to fight off the invaders, but you're hopelessly outnumbered and forced to surrender when the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King takes the dashing rogue with a quick wit hostage and threatens to kill his if you don't throw down your weapons.

Several heavily-armored soldiers surround your party as the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King demands you hand over the mysterious relics. Despite the dashing rogue with a quick wit's protest, you do so. When you hand them over the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King gloats, 'Now that I have these, I'll give them to my master instead of using them for myself'. When questioned about the items, he tells you that since you're going to die anyways, he'll let you in on what's going on. The mysterious relics are actually going to be used to resurrect an Ancient Evil Warrior. Once the Warrior has been summoned, the evil King plans to use his powerful dark magic to steal his soul and absorb his power, thus making the evil King virtually invincible. Having divulged this incredibly unpredictable plot twist to you, the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King then takes the dashing rogue with a quick wit and escapes with him while ordering the assembled heavily-armored soldiers to destroy you. You are attacked, but after a difficult battle you manage to defeat them all. Unfortunately, the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King is long gone.

Once you have finished off the heavily-armored soldiers, your attention turns to saving the dashing rogue with a quick wit and stopping the evil King before he can complete his nefarious plot. Luckily, the neurotic mage who is always losing things is well versed in the legend of the Dark Warrior. The neurotic mage who is always losing things informs you that the Dark Warrior terrorized the kingdom 1,000 years ago, but was finally defeated by a group of noble heroes who used a fabled weapon known as the Oathkeeper to slay him. You decide to find this weapon before going after the evil King directly, in case you end up having to deal with the Dark Warrior as well.

Your search for the Oathkeeper takes you to a secluded monastery hidden in an undiscovered valley, the weapon's last known resting place. You journey there and are met by numerous spirits of long-dead clerics sworn to make sure the weapon does not fall into unworthy hands, which you must defeat before battling the weapon's guardian, a an enormous spectral dragon. After an intense fight, you emerge with the Oathkeeper.

At long last you set out for the Black Realm and your final confrontation with the evil King. From the moment you arrive, you must wade into hordes of heavily-armored soldiers, mowing them down with the Oathkeeper and the fact that you're at least thirty experience levels and twenty hours of gameplay more powerful than you were when you first faced them. Tense action music is playing as you slaughter the ones responsible for the destruction of your town and head towards the ultimate final duel.

After clearing several rooms, you are once again face-to-face with the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King. After a terse dialogue, the two of you square off one-on-one. You notice that he has new abilities and is way more powerful than the first time you faced him. You are taken off-guard at first, and are really getting a beat down. However, as things are looking bleak you cast the spell Demon Breath and a blast of negative energy slams into the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King. You then quickly go on the offensive and use the Oathkeeper to decapitate him.

With the warrior bound by honor to defend the evil King dead, you rescue the dashing rogue with a quick wit and the two of you are reunited. However, there is no time to waste... you rush through the final door and face the evil King, who has already begun to resurrect the Dark Warrior. Upset at seeing your entrance, the evil King decides to finally deal with you once and for all. Your team squares off against this threat and after a difficult battle against an incredibly powerful enemy capable of killing your weakest party member in about two hits, you manage to emerge victorious.

However, there's no time for celebration. After a brief respite to heal your characters, there is a cutscene where the evil King uses his last bit of energy to complete the resurrection ritual, bringing back the Dark Warrior! You're then thrown headfirst into an INSANE boss battle, where the Warrior uses all sorts of crazy spells and powers against you. Explosions, lightning, fire and all kinds of stuff are flying all around the place and shaking the entire board, but ultimately you are able to use the power of the Oathkeeper to defeat the Warrior in all four of his various humongous forms and save the kingdom from evil, fulfilling your destiny as the Chosen One.

FIN

There, we have a story.

I like my story better. Can we at least use this as an intro? I spent a lot of time on it.

(Repost in order)

The opening scene shows soldiers raiding a small village. They're looking for a special family who incredibly strong magic to use them as weapons. The family consists of a grandfather,a 12 year old boy,Philip, and a baby.

(The baby is Valerie, the main hero.)

The grandfather interupts the enemy soldiers' raid on the village. He looks like the harmless old man,110-Civilian10,and then he transforms. He casts a youth spell on himself, making him 50 years younger, but still with gray hair. The spell he casts is a suicide spell, that restores his body to when he was at his strongest for a short time. He takes up his sword and starts slaughtering enemy soldiers left and right. Finally,He reaches the enemy general, who has crapped his pants by this point. Suddenly,He just stops moving with his sword two inches from the general's face. The grandfather is dead in full rigermortis, still standing in attack position.

Minwhile, the boy escapes, with the soldiers in hot pursuit, the boy is forced to abandon the baby on the doorstep of the nearest ophanage.

The soldiers, unaware of that he was even carrying a baby, continue chasing the boy and pass the ophanage without a second glance.

Soon after they catch the boy, they take him back to their castle and brain wash him into being their king's slave.

(Philip later becomes one of the final bosses.)

Sadly, the orphanage the boy left Valerie at was just a little better than Hell itself. The child is mistreated severely and beaten within an inch of her life for the slightest disobediences. This is where she learns how to be a cautious thief who never gets caught.

One day,she is attacked and punished by one of the "enforcers" and out of sheer terror she subconsciously puts up her light shield, knocking back the enforcer flat on his butt.

In pure rage, the enforcer shouts,"WITCH!",and goes in the for the killing blow with his night stick.

An older blind boy,Lucas, immediately jumps in and blocks the attack with his walking stick.

The boy grabs her hand and they take off running. They reach a back room with a high window,he quickly lifts her up so she can escape.

Unfortunately, life on the outside isn't much better than at the orphanage.

Wandering through the city alone, she is forced to fend for herself.

(This is where the player first takes control. With her light shield already equipped.)

(Extra Character)

Seth Aiken, the rival thief. Seth plays an important role,he is a random event character who seems to show up

when ever Valerie is caught in a trap. He,then, offers his assistance, for a small fee of course!

Seth also likes to loot areas is Valerie is too slow in getting to them. She will often find an empty chest or two with a note that says,"Seth was here."

Seth is sly and crafty, and when surrounded by enemies,he will suddenly use a smoke bomb and disappear leaving Valerie all alone to take care of them! He has no real loyalty to anyone except his own wallet.

Only if he is cornered by enemies with no way out, will he actually fight back. His attacks are lightning fast, but very weak, which is why he likes to avoid fighting when possible.

He's an opportunist,he sneaks after Valerie, when she has already cleared a path, and the guard is weak.

As the story develops,Seth becomes infatuated by Valerie after seeing her use her magic.

He begins to appear more and more often, explaining each encounter as "pure chance".

In one case,we could have Seth become a playable character and rescues Valerie from a trap,or maybe protects her from monsters when she is knocked unconscious.

Jesse, I actually like Nisage's a little bit more, because yours doesn't include the whole concept. Nisage's doesn't give all the info just yet but he planned it from beginning to end.

Yeah but his story SOUNDS like he pulled it out of one of those story generators.

We can use some of of it though,I can rewrite it to include my idea, too.

He didn't even include the part about her being a thief.

Continuation of my story:

You start of on the streets of Lindain City, you quickly notice the hunger and body temperature meter, which are running low. This forces the player to pickpocket money or take food from the vending stands,or to sneak into buildings to keep warm. While venturing through the city at night,Valerie stops and notices the most heavenly smell coming from the Royal Palace.Freezing and hungry, she sneaks into the palace against her better judgment.

While raiding the kitchen, she is captured by the prince.During brutal interrogation in the dungeon, the prince is interrupted by his little sister. With the threat of being "told on",the prince is forced to release Valerie.

Afterwords, the princess and Valerie become good friends. The next day, princess introduces Valerie to her father, the King, and the prime minister. The prime minister notices Valerie's strange hair and eye color, and believes her to be related to an old woman who lives just outside the city.

After receiving supplies,Valerie leaves the city to meet her.

Once there, the old woman immediately recognizes Valerie's name is the same as her sister's baby.

The old woman then tells Valerie about how her village was destroyed, and how Valerie became an orphan.

She also tells her about her brother her was abducted during the raid.

The evil emperor is gathering people rumored to possess extraordinary magical abilities.

Valerie's grandfather was one such person, who fought for the emperor's father during the great war, slaughtering thousands of enemy soldiers. However, during the peaceful aftermath, her grandfather mellowed after becoming a father, and retired to the small village, where Valerie was born many years later.

It was that power, the new emperor eagerly wanted to obtain, when he sent his men to attack the village.

I'll post more later. Let me know what you think.

Part 3 of my story:

After hearing her aunt's story,Valerie decides to go pay the emperor a visit, and hopefully find her brother and avenge her grandfather. The aunt gives Valerie the item: Hand-Made Coat,a none-usable item which protects her against lightly cold weather. The first in many coat-type items to protect Valerie from harsh weather.

She also receives home-made cookies and an apple pie,and some money, which will help buy more food later on.

Along the way to to the Emperor's castle,Valerie is forced to cross through a dense, dark forest. It's there she is attacked by a wolf, when she is rescued by a passing archer;the wolf escapes. The archer offers to protect Valerie while she is in the forest. While nearing the forest's edge, they are confronted by the wolf again, this time it brought friends. Surrounded by wolves,Valerie's power emerges again, incinerating all the wolves.

The archer is in awe. He/she,then,asks Valerie about her magical ability. Valerie explains about herself and her quest. Now interested, the archer decides to go with her.

Unknown to them, they were being watched by a demon disguised as a cleric. The cleric gives an evil and mischievous smile.

Having cleared the forest, they arrive in Furran village;a village presumably devastated by the emperor's wrath, the smell of blood hangs thickly in the air. Ravaged bodies are everywhere, pecked and gnawed on by crows and wild dogs. In mist the destruction, there is a lone cleric digging graves, burying the bodies one by one.(The same one seen briefly from earlier.)

He tells Valerie and the archer that this village was destroyed by the emperor's soldiers.

(This is a lie, however,as the story unfolds, the player finds out that the cleric destroyed the village, and the cleric is a servant of the emperor, and he destroyed the village as part of his cover story. In actuality,he is after Valerie's power, wanting to absorb it,and become emperor himself.)

Valerie tells the cleric about her village, and her brother, and the emperor's evil plan.

The cleric, then, offers to join in their quest.

(Side Character info: The cleric's weapon is a staff shaped like a crucifix, externally it appears to by a holy weapon, but it is actually just a sheath, hidden inside is a sword of destruction. There is deeper Biblical meaning behind it,when a crucifix is turned upside down,it resembles a sword.)

I'll post part four later. Tell me what you think, about this part, too.
