@isaacsol: Your japanese skills will come in handy :P Eventually we'll need to approach them. @RKO: Requesting of features is going to be an issue. What is imperative in getting attention and achieving success here is professionalism. Therefore I think there is no place for a list of features to officially be in this petition. There are several reasons for that. If you want me to explain fully I'll be happy to do so. But in the end I dont think its even proper petition etiquette. However, as we do plan to show this enterbrain depending on its success, comments are possible and this is a way of communicating those desired features. Furthermore, we could do it properly: compile a list of desired features and then create a poll to get the most wanted features, and then its possible to give that information to enterbrain as a side not to the petition. Ok, I got 100% on that quiz I was talking about so I started writing up the component. Mainly just a little design and no real coding has yet gone into it, but here's what I got so far. Writing isn't my strong point, so advice on the text is strongly desired! There will also be the number of signatures there in nice large text, and our goal (I'm going for 100,000). Lets make userbars for our sigs (RGangsta, I nominate you for this :P) and spread it around the internet :D

Oh yeah, I've seen those before. As you can see in one of the errors it says that the mysql server has gona away (which is odd coz other stuff using mysql is showing up) therefore its like a host error and therefore its temporary. Just lost the connection, I think. Are many other people seeing this same thing?

Yeah the upgrade actually changed my settings: Thats in your settings - blogs. I think there may also be a skinning issue where the drop down is missing to approve comments, though thats a guess.

You know what, I knew I was spelling it wrong it when I was typing. However, I came prepared. I shall write a little application to make our petition legitimate. I just think that a topic, for example, wouldn't be as authoritative. So a proper thing won't do us any hard in being successful here. Here's the deal. I got an online quiz to do for one of my courses. If I get 100% tomorrow, I'll write the app tomorrow. It should only take a few hours, might take me to Thursday... @joman195: Yeah true, we actually discussed a change in domain name quite a bit. I even made a topic about it. I eventually came up with gamedevunlimited, nice and simple, (could we shorten that to gamedevu.net?) I even make designs for a new site back in the summer holidays but I didn't finish. However I hope I can just slowly transition this site into what I had planned all the way back then. By the end of it, I'd be a pro coder :P

RMXPUnliminted in 2011 Hello RMXPUnlimiteder's, In Todays blog I'm going to go through a list of my current future plans that will you a little confused and hungry for more (hopefully). So, whats in store this year for RMXPUnlimited.... A new theme This site is in major need of a new look. I thought this one was cool when we first got it, but now its getting old and leaves a lot to be desired. Its not even unique. Real User Profiles I did a little experimenting to see if this was possible. Turns out it is :biggrin_002: Lets face it, IPB's profile system wasn't designed for gamers, there's a whole lot missing. These new profiles will be honed for gamers, incorporating the developer, with all the necessary social features in there too. Forum Restructure Yeah I know, its like the 20th forum shake up. In fact I think what I have in mind we've done before, but this time we'll do it better. It will see the prefix system scrapped and engine specific forums, hopefully done the 'right' way. Projects Section & Other Content Sections The projects forum is sadly leaving us. So are several other forums. They're replaced by applications designed for that content. The projects, which developed has already started, will also specialize in team management. This sections will also having posting ability and may even increment the post count. These components will probably be the most major updates. More Staff/New Staff hierarchy Integration of new engines (hopefully)

Haha. I think there are 4 in NZ in total, but still, thats pretty impressive. I was thinking this would be useful for young developers who want to work in the industry at least get in contact with companies in their area. That would be pretty cool if someone actually joined up through that link.

Yeah they definitely need to do something drastic in the next one. So far the community is divided neatly into in XP and VX people, a new engine needs to win the people in both groups. I have an idea.. How about we start a partition? I'll set up a thing where members and guests (to increase numbers, but force a post per IP limit) can post and thats like signing the partition. I'll have a radio button saying that by posting here you agreeing to submit a vote in favor of the partition. We'll aim for 200,000 and then send it off to enterbrain, which I think wouldn't be too hard to get them to actually see it. :D Shall we?

How about: 'Your websites'. And yes Franklin thanks for reminding me. I set a 5 post limit. I'm kind of against that sort of thing. If a member came here to post a website that members would find useful, I wouldn't be against that at all. But I think there is some sort of filter needed, so for now its at 5 posts. :)

I was surprised to learn that I drive past a game making company nearly everyday on my way to uni. I really didn't think there would be any in my city. This site has a few companies in various places around the world... I hope some of you can find a company near you :) http://www.gamedevmap.com/

I think there's evidence in the graph to support your statement there Franklin. RMXP killed 2k3, but (it appears) half of us went to VX and the other half stayed with XP. A new engine is definitely needed to spike interest. The graph does suggest RPG Maker is at an all time low. We started in '06, so I'm not surprised new sites can't really enter the market (unless anyone knows of any up and coming RPG Maker sites?)

I jumped onto Google Trends today to compare the RPG Makers over the years. Here's the graph I ended up with: Key RPG Maker XP RPG Maker VX RPG Maker 2003 RPG Maker 2000 There are several interesting things we can observe from the graph. First of all, RMVX and RMXP are more or less tied in popularity and have been pretty much since the release of VX. The most popular RPG Maker of these was RPG Maker 2003. Also what I thought was quite interesting is since the release of RPG Maker VX, the overall graph starts to slope downwards and it appears the RPG Maker popularity is at an all time low. The height of the RPG Maker XP graph is 2006 is nearly 3 times higher than now. However, the overall popularity should be the area under both graphs, so really even though we're seeing really now numbers, because neither engine is dominant, the overal popularity of both engines or more like RPG Maker XP's popularity in 2007.

I am strongly against it. But if it happened in PM, did it really happen at all? That's something to think about.
