Yup, I'm sure it does. I personally use photoshop. The money is for paying people who are skilled with those programs.

Well that relates solely to software. How about resources? There has to be a reasonably high standard of resources which probably includes completely custom works. If there was a very well coordinated team who knew exactly what they needed and wanted, they could pay to have their ideas come to life. I think the challenging part is selling and making a profit from the games.

I actually really like this idea.. I just think pulling it off is going to be insanely hard. I think we should setup a website immediately to get attention. Maybe the currency should be USD? I think that will make the business side smoother. Even my currency is NZD so I'm not being a bias US citizen here :P As I told you I am a finance student but sadly at the current point in time I haven't been too far into it to offer advice or anything like that... But one thing I did notice as a difficulty is that they have to give 15% of their profits. At the very minimum this requires some accounting on the part of the game makers. Profits are total revenue minus costs. So for example, if you sell your game for $10 and sell 100 copies then you made $1,000. Lets say it costs you $500 to make the game. Revenue is $1,000 and profit is $500. As I stated before I think that making profits in todays market is very very difficult.. And how do we know how much revenue they made? They could say well, we made negative profits so we can't give you anything back for your investment. They could potentially make up the costs.. for example, I paid a spriter this much, etc, which further decreases profit. Perhaps we could lower the percentage and take part of the revenue? So its almost a guaranteed return. I had an idea. How about also help to sell the games also? You could set up a site (or part of the main site) a section for promoting and selling the games online. But this could kill the sites reputation. The games would have to be worth the money... and you can already get some nice free games out there.

Awesome, I'll check it out. As for that error, I can probably fix it. It is odd that you have had that error, because its a joomla news component that simply uses IPB's tables, but I wrote it myself. I havent opened up the files but looks really obvious. The preg replace error comes because it has no data to work with. The foreach error is the same, I suspect a change in the tables column name because it seems to not be returning any data from the query. I think I'll do that now since I got a few moments to kill. I need to study... :( EDIT: I was half right. I tried rewriting IPBs bbcode system, and they removed a column in that particular table which caused the bbcode parsing function to screw up the main body of text. Works now :)

Ah yes, those categories technically do not have any images in them, just images, so I don't think that is an error. If you go into the category you can see all of the albums with images. I just rebuilt all the images, when you clicked into them, they wouldn't show up. This is a tiny bit embarrassing but, where do you add a new album? :unsure: I'm not used to this new system yet... :sweatdrop: There is a limit of 4 albums for members but I see that you have only made 3. That sounds good, what is the URL of your site? I'm glad someone brought up a new theme in this topic :) I think that I've pretty much fixed all the errors that I've been seeing. The database error logs have returned to normal (there are always a few random mysql errors each day). I take that some images arn't showing up for you? Are you using opera? The banner shows up but in opera (i think it was opera that i saw this) the flash animation doesn't come up, you have to manually play it. Which is lame.

What do you mean? Another member to help fix the errors? I'm flat out with uni work but the weekends coming up and hopefully I'll get some things fixed. I was working on a major cleanup that would fix it but I've changed my mind because it will probably take a whole day, which I dont have. Did you click the browse button? Hey guys, You may notice that when you goto the board index you get an error. It only says its an error down the bottom, but the banner disappears and the text goes blue, etc. We actually had this error once before and it is discussed in this topic: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/topic/5297-upgrade/ Just to let you all know that I am working on fixing it. I did forget how exactly I fixed it last time so it won't be fixed immediately. Secondly there are range of theme issues across the board and this theme has become obsolete it terms of the software (as the software is upgraded, the skins HTML sometimes needs upgraded accordingly). But I have decided that I want a new look, and this time I think we're going for a fixed layout. That means that the forums and sites width are only a certain length (probably around 960px). So if you have a massive resolution you would see the site in the middle of the page, but its far more efficient. If it were fluid (stretched across your whole page) then you would lose your line when you read posts and things because your eyes have to jump so far back. However a new theme will take some time because its a huge investment. It takes so much time and is so tedious to come up with. I have to skin the forums and site to look identical. If you guys would like to discuss design aspects for the site, please feel free to do so here :) I do have one design that I made a while back that I showed the staff, I may post it here to see if you guys like it. I think you mean the design rather than layout. Yes of course it's possible. I've been thinking about a new theme but it's not high on the priority list right now.. Also I'm not the best original designer

Straight into it then :) Pretty advanced for the first lesson. Despite the couple of years of played around in RMXP, I don't think I ever actually used common events. Looking forward to the next one :)
