  1. Happy 21st !

    Have a great day :)

  2. From first appearances, this issue seems to be taken care of. There was some issue with the tags, which is strange because it's completely default. But the code tags now seem to stop wrapping within one another. I'll leave this topic open for reports of misbehaving code BBCode.
  3. We do not need a global mod for now, and generally more established members in the community get the job. No offense of course, I'm sure we can find something for you :) Ok I'll PM you soon. Great :) I think at this stage what I'm going to do is setup a staff section, write some introductory topics and stuff regarding the points I made in the first post. And hopefully we'll go from there. This topic is still open of course for community discussion. The members interested in becoming staff should receive a PM within the next few days, sooner if I can find time... I'm also going to try and create our own moderator control panel for our local mods. This will basically make it easier for you to moderate your forums, and any local mod can use it. I wonder if I can create an alert that picks up necro-posting... :)
  4. The screenshot definitely looks good. Glad we're in there too :) I'm glad you're considering joomla. That way, I can help you write some components :D I'm getting very familiar with the joomla framework, and getting there with IPB. If you're considering user integration of these, then send me a PM :)
  5. Don't forget to vote in the poll! Hey guys, In approximately 5 hours I am going to change the theme to a new one I have been working on. This is going to be a trial period for approximately 1 day. After the day is up, I will open up a poll for what members think about the theme. The theme is both the site and forums. However, the forum skin is pretty much in a "draft" stage. It takes a very long time to skin every section. So the reason I have decided to do a trial period is because I don't have a lot of time, and I'm not going to be completing the skin if it's no going to be used. I have far too much study to do and don't want to waste any time. So there will be a lot of flaws and uncompleted sections, so please do not judge the skin by these as they will be changed if the skin is liked. The sections that are likely to be uncompleted during the trial period: -Various colors in topic/forum view -All of the member profiles -Settings pages -Applications(blogs/downloads/gallery, etc. are untested) -The header (where the logo goes, ill probably do a quick one for the trial) And also note that the links in the forums menu may not work. In the final release, this will be fixed, but it is not so simple to do. This topic will be closed for the duration of the trial period, and opened again for voting. So you may post until then.
  6. Happy Bday :D Doing anything special?
  7. What position were you interested in? I actually havne't seen you post too must, although I can see you are quite active, which is good. I have yet to setup the tutorials section. What I'm planning is a forum per engine for tutorials, and then move our current tutorials in there. We currently have 3 sections...which is just confusing for newcomers. I'm not sure if you would have too much to do, but I can't see why we can't give it a go. Hmm yeah. But if you need motivation to post more, perhaps you have lost interest? There are tons of topics in the wrong sections in the Gave Development category, and I think that some of the mods miss them because they use the recent posts hook in the sidebar or one of the "New Content" links to find the posts.
  8. Good work guys, glad there was no flaming. The Hooded Man should have been warned for his necro post, yes. But I guess the mods just missed it, which of course can happen. At any rate, Black Shadow has been inactive for a long long time, though I think he visits on rare occasions. But I think this topic should be closed regardless. :) [closed]
  9. Cool, thanks for posting? Any chance of more in the same style?
  10. Hey guys, its not a chatroom. Just be careful not to go offtopic. Welcome to RMXPUnlimited Phelix.
  11. Welcome to RMXPUnlimited. Hope you enjoy your stay :alright:
  12. Hey everyone, Today I'm going to talk to you about a goal which I consider very important: building a solid staff team. There was a period of time not so long ago where the staff team remained the same for more than a year, perhaps longer. Over that time staff became inactive, and slowly our team broke down. At this point, few of us are active, and there is next to no communication between what team we do have. Normally this isn't something that should be announced publicly, but it is an appropriate introduction. In the past I was reluctant to let too many members become staff, because I was afraid that the majority of active members would be staff members. The main motivation for this topic is the lack of production on the site. I'm talking about the site itself, projects, resources, everything. I want to increase growth, and for that I think we need a solid staff team as a base. Alight, lets get into it. I want to build a solid staff team, so obviously I'm looking for a decent few members. At the top of the list, you must be able to communicate with the rest of the staff team. I am looking to create a real team for RMXPUnlimited, so communication is essential. Other attributes that are essential: -leadership -maturity -enjoyment in working on a website -activity -teamwork(sub category of communication) In addition, we do need to build on RPG Maker VX, and possibly the other engines if possible. Therefore the following positions are available: -Director of RPG Maker XP -Director of RPG Maker VX You may be wondering what are the jobs of these positions. While I have a good idea of the tasks these positions require, I'm not going to specify them. The members who can think of these for themselves I'm sure will suit the job. There are also the following positions: -Global Moderator(1) -Game Development Moderators(2 local mods) -Tutorial Moderators -Downloads Manager Moderator -Gallery Moderator There are a ton of positions here relative to the activity of the site, but I'm sure not all of these will be fulled. Although I have come up with these positions based on what I think we need. There are currently 6 members who can moderate globally, but by my count, only 2/3 actively moderate. I am also wanting to bring the staff section, which worked so well on RMXPUltimate. The staff section is a forum where ideas of the staff are discussed, a place to encourage communication. Hopefully this will help the growth of the site. This topic is also for open discussion for everyone, and I'm interested in what everyone has to say regarding this topic. These are just my ideas alone, so if you guys have any idea of your own, I'd like to hear them.
  13. There is a way to find me by searching Marked, but I think I'll keep it a secret :) This must have took you ages.... but its good info. Hopefully we can increase in the future. I know a few SEO tricks, but we definitely need more content to get higher in the searches.
  14. The old old rmxp.org/rmxp.net used to be quite strict I think. I think that some large forums get overwhelmed with huge amount of topics in the wrong section, or off-topic against the rules topics. These forums will need to get more moderators to deal with it, and essentially it can be like dealing with spam-bots. Therefore they need incentives to control the behaviors of posting members so they don't have to deal with all the nonsense. Not everyone sees it this way, but all the topics on a forum are content of that website. To illustrate what I said, this forum has few posters, therefore making it strict would kill it entirely. I'm sure the forums would not purposely diminish their own activity. However, posting "Goodbye, shove off, etc" is just bad management.
  15. The index (im assuming of the website) may be slow because of a high number of queries as we're trying to display as much new content as possible. Try disabling the user panel (which will be upgraded soon). At the moment I'm allocating all the time I'm willing to spend on the site toward a new look, as well as another reshaping of the forum structure. Loading time is far down the list because we have bigger things to worry about. I think the community is weaker than ever, and I want to rebuild everything. There have been no changes to the core coding of the messenger system, so for now it can't be helped. Though I will do my best to code efficiently where i do, and keep the software up to date.
  16. 3 votes...where the hell is everyone? Pol, there is no point in starting any events without anyone to participate. There is a major lack of "community" here. How frustrating.
  17. Hmm... so what have you decided? I see you have since made a topic trying to find old underground members. Are you proceeding with both sites?

    Your Help

Moved to The Cafe. Shadow wolf should be over at CA, he returned a few months ago i think. DerVVulfman and Punk and both at http://rmvxp.com/.
  19. I agree, you should work on your VGSHub idea. You even sound like that is the one you want to do anyway. The only thing different this time would be that you would have the name RMXPUnderground, which was quite popular. But then again, it had members like Constance, Sephirothspawn and Shadow wolf.
  20. It will be released soon I hope.
  21. I tried it in both my account and a member account, and it works. The category does not contain a disclaimer in the settings, to that screen really shouldn't appear... This is a strange one. I suspect some skin error. This has destroyed the blogs, so I have enabled the ability to use the default skin which you can select at the bottom of the forum.
  22. Glad you like it :) I wasn't sure how it was going to be received, and was considering using a live demo for users to have a proper look. Though it's not even at that stage yet. I'm trying to skin this thoroughly, so it's going to take some time yet.
  23. Hey guys, Today I'm going to post a screenshot of the forum skin I have been working on. It's based off of the new site skin, which I did not make. Features of the forum skin: -uses sprites and the same images from the site(which means faster loading) -uses a menu derived from the database, and is the same for both site and forum -breadcrumbs system is integrated(not shown on the site screenshot) So I'm going to post the forum screenshot first, followed by the site screenshot for comparison. I'm not sure how much you guys are going to look it by just looking at one image, but we'll see how it goes. Sorry if the images stretch the page: Forum Website

    Netik

How about "lol, you guys fail when it comes to eyeing a more professional layout.". Not everyone is going to see it as a joke even if you include the lol, I didn't exactly interpret it that way. It's not good posting etiquette, and i wouldn't be surprised if the first few posters stopped posting in your topics. Anyway, lets get back on topic.
