This is so tough! I can see at least 3 members who deserve to win, each for their own reasons. In creating the new RGSS sections I browsed the scripts request and support forum and went through some topics individually. There is a stand-out member within those topics, and my vote goes to that member. Goodluck everyone!

Good work, squidgy. I see you have uploaded the autotiles to the gallery too, that is the proper way to submit finished resources.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone else have anything to say?

Hmm not too sure about that Joey. I have a fresh water tank and that needs cleaned(according to the instructions) once a month. Why a sea anemone? You should just put it in a cup 'o sea water

We have a new RGSS Scripts section with its own category, divided per engine. It looks something like this: It's a rather large section, and I'm a bit worried the RGSS2 section in particular may remain empty for a while. Though its a necessary step for being more VX orientated. At least, this should avoid confusion with anything RGSS in terms of where to post. This has been up for at least a week, but in the middle of making it I lost internet again I had to stop for a while. It took so long to separate each XP topic from the VX, even with prefixing. Tutorials System The tutorials forum may be hidden away in the support forum, but I'm encouraging everyone to keep writing tutorials. The new tutorial system that we are going to use works as follows: When a member submits a tutorial to the tutorials forum, we considering it for moving to the tutorials mod which is has nice categorization. Some topics have already been 'tutorialized', which is what a specified group can do with any topic. The new tutorials section though I would like to be strict with what can go in there. A few ground rules are: 1. Good presentation, easy to read, clear, reasonable English 2. Unique, not a double up of an existing tutorial. So, once a tutorial is written on something, that is the official tutorial for that subject. Although it can be replaced 3. Only tutorials from topics that members post on RMXPUnlimited. (exclusive) I am thinking of setting up a staff group to select these tutorials, although it would be one member. Perhaps that is something for the future. Oh, and one last thing. We have a news module that displays the latest 5 news topics: I made a topic a while ago about syncing RMXPUnlimited announcements. Since I have decided not to continue that, because of course the website does not use the same forum bbcode, and with very little activity in the blogs, it was all a lot of effort for very little. Im thinking of removing the website announcements and replacing it with content, but only time will tell with what is going to be done with it. Usually I wouldn't announce website updates, as there will be a million and 1 of them, but this one I did nearly from scratch.

Those are brilliant, Chief. Definitely pro. I've had a tablet for years and my drawings look like I've drawn drunk. Did you use photoshop?

The Year 2012, Real or Fraudulant?
Marked replied to formlesstree4's topic in Debate and Mature Discussion
Well Chief, apparently the Mayans got a lot of things right. So people are more willing to believe in their theories. You know what the problem with humans is, we believe what we're told. Watch a documentary, read a book, listen to the government, church people, we believe it. All of it. I once heard as a little school kid(like 11) one of my teachers say that every smoke takes 1 day off your life. Bullshit miss. I called her out on it, and she said it was a fact. Show me the scientific experiment for that one. Global warming, conveniently changed to 'climate change' may or may not exist. More likely not, because we just don't know whats going to happen. That's my theory and it satisfies my curiosity. It is impossible to predict the future, we don't know what's going to happen and us humans are obviously along for the ride like all the other animals. At least I am confident that in my life time, the planet will be here. -
Yep, I discovered that not too long after getting RMXP. I think Polraudio made a topic about it too. You can use each individual tile from the autotile image.

I moved this topic to RGSS1 Script Support on the assumption you're using RPG Maker XP. Your topic is so unclear and poorly presented that I don't think it is a serious topic. Could you please edit your topic and be more specific with what you need help with.

A couple of weeks ago I started developing a page for Indie Game Maker, also known as Action Game Maker. At first glimpse, I personally don't like the engine but I want to get a community opinion on it. The page I started to develop is here: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/index.php/igm.html This was created with info from these two sites: http://tkool.jp/products/IGMAKER/ http://indiegamemaker.org/ I obviously stopped work on the page, and now considering whether to continue. There's a poll above, or reply below. There's also a sample game on the Enterbrain site(2nd link in this post), but I haven't tested it yet.

Lammorra! Merry Christmas! Thanks so much for dropping by. It's a shame your computer broke down, I hope you can retrieve your files and maybe stay for a little while longer :)

For us in the Australasia region Christmas is long over, but I thought there's no harm in posting this as I think the majority of users are celebrating Christmas at the moment. And for those in the US who don't know, Christmas in Australasia is in summer, and its HOT.

Merry Christmas everyone from me and the RMXPUnlimited staff. Have a great day, drive safe if you're doing so, and bare talking to the relatives :P

Membership rapid increase and inactivity
Marked replied to FranklinX's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
I had made the entire site accessible to guests apart from the downloads manager, due to bandwidth. Enabling guest downloads will stop the leech-registrations, but it will not increase posts. Think about it, the leeching members are a statistic and database space. And perhaps a bit disheartening to staff members who work on the site. I'm not too worried about the leeching members who register for that purpose. The increase in pageviews as a result are probably more beneficial. What we must think about in topics like these are, how can we get people interested and posting ? Leeching is coming, downloading and leaving. Asking for help is in no way leeching. To be honest, we want to help as many people as we can :) In fact I encourage you to find something you cannot do, just so we can help you with it. I have been away a lot lately and my laptop is currently disassembled so I'm doing nothing at the moment. In my 2010 topic I talked about what im doing to change rmxpunlimited, and I will be continuing to do so for a while to come. Every admin cannot continue forever, I've been going for 3 years, and at the moment I cannot see anybody at the moment who would take my place. I dont want a 3 year project to die, so of course it makes sense for someone to continue when I go. About the posting, the biggest issue I see is a forum structure disaster. It's something I'm not good at, and im looking for the best, most efficient/productive way to present the rmxpunlimited forums. Personally I have to make a tradeoff. With the limited time I have to be here, do I learn how to create a better website(such as continuing the development of my script submission component), or do I get better in RMXP and learn RMVX and create systems/content for the site? -
With scripts, there are many meant exclusively for where they're are posted. And I think the reason for this is that people redistribute the scripts without any credit at all, which prompts the original author to say, well, how can I protect my work? So they add a terms and conditions section stating that the script is not to be redistributed. Where it does not say this though, the rule of redistribution with full credits is followed. These are the rules I have followed in creating the scripts archive, and a few of them I have contacted the author(such as GubiDs battle system). With sprites and battlers, it's even harder to give credit. They're just images. And yes there are some who say not to redistribute. Example: http://fayforest.sakura.ne.jp/sozai/english.html . If an image is posted without credits once, each time its redistributed from that source it goes uncredited. So, this is a problem and I am against the redistribution of graphical resources without credit. Every time such is posted we ask for credits. I did upload the character pack in the downloads manager, and this is a perfect example of what is wrong with redistribution. I have been around a long while, my values have changed since then. But in the pack, the authors are lost forever. Someone come up without distributing charactersets with 'tabs' containing credits, and they needed cropping to be used. But it got the point across. Example:

Formless, will this break our planned team-up?

This is the toughest one yet...

I'm reasonably satisfied with the nominees at the moment. I can't think of anyone else who should be up here, a slow month indeed.

Possible the biggest RMVX Icon Set
Marked replied to Tomo2000's topic in Resource Showcase & Critique
Nice find tomo. A project would have a tough time not finding the icon they want, although I can't see any game needing as many icons. Also some conflicting styles in there. You should upload this to the Gallery(with the credits, of course) so the image gets views when topic dies. -
I'm waiting for a newer version of the downloads manager to be released which will be much more stable, especially with uploading. Hopefully then, everyone will use it.

Really disappointed I missed this one. For personal reasons I was busy all of last week and staying away from home for several days. It didn't help I only have RMXP on my old computer which has no internet, and my current one disassembled to fix it. Sorry Leon.

To be honest, I don't know a whole lot about torrents. But I know how they work. If you're asking permission to upload torrents to the downloads manager, then the answer would be no. If you want to attach or post them in your topics, then that's fine. But people will obviously prefer direct download links over torrents, and if you really cannot upload them to the downloads manager, then its your choice what you do. What kind of files are you looking to share? Projects or resources or something? And what size are they? No, above all you should use the downloads manager. Only when you the downloads manager doesn't work for you for some reason should you turn to a hosting website. Mediafire may delete the files or close down before us. If we close down first, we no longer need to host the files. Either way, its much more convenient and safe to upload the files onto RMXPUnlimited.
-
I haven't been on too many hosts, but unless they are a stable and proper host there is no reason to limit upload size. This is a guess, but I think the php upload function has a default of 2mb where it isn't elsewhere defined. If defined in the htacess file, you can set it to whatever. Which I have done. The max upload size for the project categories has been increased, thanks for making the topic.
