Mine would be Dubealex's AMS. By the way guys, the UMS in the scripts archive is not the latest version. I don't touch content that says not too, so we may not host the latest version.

Well, thank you all for your replies. I must admit that I was not expecting so many, but its great to see some nice discussion and ideas. It is clear that the majority of you want to keep the resources, but there is also a hint that this results from doubt we could ever produce enough to be a serious site, as leon put it. So my decision is to have a differentiation of exclusive RMXPUnlimited content/resources, although i am unsure how to do it at the moment. It's very tricky to do and not duplicate sections, although that almost seems inevitable. I must admit that I have been having doubts about how to move forward and apply my 2010 topic. I havent even turned my computer on in 2 days(using my brothers laptop now). I have pretty much lost interest in rpg maker and that makes me an ineffective admin..perhaps I am subconsciously foreshadowing something here. I think that perhaps the ultimate goal of any RPG Maker website (which aims to include all aspects of the game making process) is to assist in the production of RPG Maker projects, make them better, motivate and inspire them and consequently, to make them. Therefor, this forum: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index.php?showforum=18 , must remain active.

It may be useful to check the following link, this guy has the same issue as you: http://www.hbgames.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19797&p=240895#p240895 And please don't double post or post "anyone??", its rather impolite to ask for help in that manner.

On extending from the exclusive content I mentioned before in the topic RMXPUnlimited in 2010, I had an idea to remove all content that is from other websites(such as scripts, tutorials) and resources made by authors not from RMXPUnlimited. This will effectively remove most content that we currently have, but where I really want to this to take effect is in the gallery. Members albums and then categories from XP/VX is extremely contradictory. Having the categories as well as albums promotes members uploading any random resources on the internet where the author is lost, and it also may create confusion on where to upload resources. So what I really would like to do is move all those resources into a single category and lock it away(though members can still use them) and have two main categories per engine. One is for edits and recolors of RTP, the other original resources. Only authors may upload their own files. Similarly, the tutorials on the website removed and replaced with tutorials made by RMXPUnlimited. This will decrease traffic a lot of course, but i think it can be beneficial for us. Please discuss :)

Flash is not going to happen, I actually did a 6hour course in flash intros, but not everyone runs flash. And there are a lot of complications with different versions of flash. And I want to appeal to everyone. Okay, so you don't like the black or the text links. I'm going to work on a new design today, but in the mean time keep the ideas coming. What do think of the checkboxes at the top-right? Do what I really want? A mascot, or mascots. For example, http://rpgm.org/ We spell it grey but its pronounced the same. We also spell color as colour.

Read this: Dated 16 November 2007, two years ago to the week. This is the topic from the last time I come as admin here, and ironically, just after hebi left. Hmm..this annoys me, a lot. What the hell have i done the past 2 years. Anyway, Hebi and I discussed this and we've decided to have the domain forward to this one, and we will remain at rmxpunlimited.net. However if anyone has any ideas about what we can do with the domain instead of simply forwarding here, please offer your suggestions.

This idea is Kiriashi's and I thought I would have a go and try it. The front page is a single page which is accessed at the base url(rmxpunlimited.net). For example, sites where they have intros, usually flash animations. So if this idea is applied there will be a page accessible as described above, and the main site is displayed at rmxpunlimited.net. This idea is primarily for new users that stumble on the site through search engines, and access rmxpunlimited.net(as opposed to rmxpunlimited.net/index.php). It is also to promote the RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX homepages. My idea for the site and supporting multiple engines is to have homepages for each engine and design as if they were the main homepage for a single site supporting a single engine. So hopefully all VX users will being their navigation from the VX homepage, similarly for XP, and the actual homepage is like a portal for the forums(tons of member/forum info, announcements etc.) Alright, so this topic is for creating that front page. I have already started a design. But I'd like some ideas from the members to develop a nice front page. In creating the one below, my computer crashed 5 times and i gave up at what you're going to see. My computer really cant handle photoshop, dreamweaver and firefox all at the same time. Current design/base design: http://rmxpunlimited.net/m/ I don't really like it, at least not how the links are displayed. Also, the VX and XP characters are supposed to be aligned to the very edges and bottom of the page. But, well, havnet figured that out yet

Situation sprites? Any particular action in mind, or character? We do have a download which has a lot of these...but i think you'll find them similar to the ones on the link you supplied. Here it is: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=23 Though I uploaded that pack, I dont condone the use of it because they dont have the authors of the sprites. So dont use it :)

The main site seems to act different only different browsers, and it seems unfortunately some IE users are going to miss out. I have no plans in changing software at all and as for themes, I am extremely particular with them. However it seems odd software that is extremely popular would cause problems on ther popular browsers. It sounds like the issue may be host related, I can't see it being anything else at the moment. As this is out of my jurisdiction(so to speak), perhaps you may want to contact isaacsol about this. It runs fine for me too by the way, which is a pain. Things that run well for me are really hard to fix for others.

I like that idea kiriashi. Im pretty sure i know how to do it too. If I create an index.html page, then that will displayed at www.rmxpunlimited.net/, and the website will only be viewed at www.rmxpunlimited.net/index.php. The extra index.php is not an issue as we will change all the links to the homepage to include it. I actually really like that idea.. And of course members will be able to submit into every section. However, first I must work on integrating softwares and then I must create the components which allow members to submit content into our CCK which i will use to design our RM sections. Unfortunately, this is months of work. It is just me, and I'm not exactly your average php expert. Though this doesn't stop me, at least not yet.

Right, that is what i was getting at with this:

Exclusive? We would be very greatful, and goodluck with this engine. I hope you keep us updated. If you do indeed make it RMXPUnlimited exclusive, I will certainly make it well known here. Well I have decided only to Support RMXP and above as our main engines. I don't think we could really attracted a decent amount of 2k and 2k3 users. Yes I agree about looking inactive with too many supported engines with their own forums. As for your scripting, well I hope you can continue to develop your skills. You seem to be looking for sort of mentor, correct? Other than that, I have sound some nice resources which may be of some assistance. I agree, I have been looking for a new design or base design which i will work from. The main reason i haven't done this yet is that the javascript is broken and I've been on support forums and trying to fix this. There is one issue with updates, projects and other such relevant content as you mentioned. There is a division of the site into RMXP and RMVX, so two different groups of members will be looking at different parts of the site. My idea is to have a completely forum-orientated homepage, with separate RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX homepages(which you can see by clicking RMXP or RMVX in the mainmenu of the site), and this is where all the featured projects, latest scripts, etc. will be displayed. This way those target groups are only, mainly, exposed to the content that is relative to them. The only problem is getting them to the respective homepage, but enormous shiny graphics should take care of that.... Do you understand that? I would draw you a diagram which could explain it in a second, but it would take my old computer at least 5 minutes just to open photoshop... Thanks, I designed the archive myself :) excluding the typography. That 'bar' is called the Main Menu, and I like it at the top.... there is no way my awesome menus would work if the menu was vertical. Would be better if javascript was working :P

I'm not sure why you are posting in a topic rather than a PM to myself, but since you did I suppose we will have this discussion here. As I have told you more than once before over the last few days with the tutorials application: And then yesterday: I really do not understand this Hebi, and I am unsure why you would not discuss with this with me before you went and bought something with your own money that could only possibly be used by this community. It simply does not make sense to me... You cannot expect me to use anything that you purchase out of the blue, even if it seems something that may be beneficial for the website. I don't know if you have owned a site for as long as I have, we have used this domain since February 2008, coming up 2 years. The longer a domain has been active, the more valuable it is. Recently I changed the URLs of the website as I announced, however I had to change them back. The 4 days that the URLs were changed on the website(excluding forums), there were 5 times less visitors and pageviews. It killed our traffic. Approximately 65% of traffic is from search engines, if we changed domains this will kill our traffic. Changing the URLs of the website was bad enough, but this would also change the urls of the forums. We would be starting again in terms of search engine indexing, our main source of traffic. Buying this with out telling me is placing an obligation on me that I am very uncomfortable with. We don't even know each other that well, apart from being acquainted since 2007, so I am not sure why exactly why you would do this for us. Changing domain name is a very large, administrative decision. Not one made just because the option is there. The name chosen by you seems to be one of interpretation of my announcement topic, and you will noticed that this is a switch from one engine orientation to another. As you can see user preferences change and it is risky to contain the name of an engine in the domain name where you support other domains, therefore it may be best to exclude the name of any engine from the domain. However whether or not this would help RMXPUnlimited, at the moment, doesn't come into the equation, more principle. Do you understand what I am saying? Other members, feel free to give your opinions also. I feel bad about the saying this, because you have paid from your own pocket. Although there is where obligation comes in. Whether the members of RMXPUnlimited want to switch is undecided, and i have put a lot of thought into this post, but is it possible to refund and get your money back?

Is there a way to report people who send spam PMs?
Marked replied to Unka Josh's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
You seem to be addressing me alot in forum posts... you can just PM me. Well this was an old issue where bots were PMing everyone on the forums. Oh, this reminds me, i really should run a query to remove all of those PMs from the database. I am aware of this modification, but we don't need it. We solved this issue by using that captcha system(which was new at the time) to stop the bots registering. Besides, there are ways around this without installing a mod. Personally I dont want every member having to type in a message to send a PM. At times of low activity, the last thing we need is to make it more difficult to communicate on the forum. Topic Locked, otherwise send me a PM. -
Awesome. It was due to the 'maintenance' earlier today was taking so long that I didn't want to have the forums down for more than 3 hours. It's likely a required file was being uploaded at the time you got the error. Topic Closed.

lol Hebi I remember those images from '07 when you used them on this forum.

Try it now?

Kiriashi that is the wrong link. The 'old archive' is there to prevent broken links, and so all of those articles in the link you posted will only redirect to the new archive. Here is the correct link http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/index.php/rmxp/rgss1-scripts/category/full-custom-menu-systems.html I'm not aware of any CMSs which display 4+ characters, but I'll have a look on some other sites.

You want mine? http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/arhes.swf PM me if you want me to make you one... I agree, I would to support all of the makers from RPG Maker XP and onwards. We do not actually focus on RMXP along, but your statement from a members point of view does show how little VX is used here.

In terms of my first post, I don't mean exclusive content in terms of saying: everyone who is active start making exclusive scripts, tutorials etc. We have had this discussion before of course, and I didn't go far. If the members who are on here now do not contribute such content, then they are unlikely to do so in the future. I think this quote helps: But it also goes deeper than just members posting useful content. An example is the step by step walkthrough tutorial that i mentioned in the first post. What I am getting at is you don't have to go and learn scripting for us, if you want to then that is great, but do it for you. I feel like I didn't explain this well, do you understand? I was thinking about moving some of the tutorial from the training center to the website and creating an archive of unique(from each other, not exclusive content) tutorials divided into separate categories so the member goes through them in order and learns what they want. As for my signature, Kiriashi, you need to learn flash. If you want I can make an animation for you from the RTP sprites? I can't do complicated animation though, I gave up flash years ago. I just did a simple one for mine, I was thinking of doing a fight scene between arshes and the first guy from VX.

It's an investment, you work have to work hard to get a decent amount of traffic through. I will admit though it can seem like it's not worth the time let alone money. Good work Hebi Kumo, that sounds like a bargain. Although I hope you checked out all of its features in case they're hiding something.
-
Sure Hebi I'll take a look at it. You could have just PMd me though, unless you intended a discussion?

Yes I was talking about rpgmakervx.net, and by the way, how many other RMVX forums are out there? I dont get out much(on the internet) so I'm not sure, but that site seems to be the only major one around... There are dozens(or were) of RPG Maker XP sites. As for resurrecting RMXP, it can't hurt, but when an engine becomes old or obsolete(which perhaps does not apply here) then it is dead. And to ensure RMXPUnlimited does not die completely, I assume we will fade RMXP out slowly, but only when no one is using it anymore. Which could be years, it has lasted a long time already. Hope you don't mind, i cut your quote. Yes I agree about the members, it has always been the case and I'm fine with some members. All sites with a decent amount of resources will get that, but we need to establish a nice base community. I suppose I could get complicated with it, I seem to develop my own theories..but anyway, 'community' is definitely a goal of 2010. Beautiful imagery. I'm glad you feel welcome here, you have been referred on other sites as RMXPUnlimited's Leon, and you are one of the originals of course. Although I don't want you to feel there is any obligation on you to remain loyal here and restrict your work to this site. However I will be working a lot of the scripts archive, I can do alot with it and hopefully you will see that in months to come. Unlike topics(excluding forum software such as VB which has tags) items in the script archive have meta keywords and descriptions making them search engine friendly, as well as the themes I choose. Also Leon, how you would feel about making money from your scripts? If you don't know what I'm talking about, its in the first post. Would you like to allow ads on the pages with your scripts, and receiving any money that generates? Being a moderator here, as you were before you left, is a big contribution. Just do that, and I'll be way happy :) I'm glad you like the ideas and I will be willing to setup the necessary sections to you and Kiriashi to do what you mentioned in this post. That's fine but it is also, at the moment, a little optimistic. My reasons for the saying that is I think it will be difficult to catch members and get them to participate in something that sounds like a short-term commitment. And I would imagine this will be time consuming and stressful for both of you. But if you can pull it off, you have my support. But in saying its optimistic, I mean, I need to start pulling in some decent traffic. When I changed the URLs mentioned in the other topic, I killed all the pages that lead to the website, most of them will now be 404s. Until all those pages are indexed again, and we've have them since early 2008, traffic is going to be a little bit worse off and its definitely been showing through the last few days. However it will prove beneficial in the long run. Scrive is not really advertised anywhere on the site and not many people know it is exclusive to RMXPUnlimited. I need to work on the website a lot, but I would whoever is in charge of the Scrive(RMXPitare or you, im not sure who it is) to PM me so we can discuss some things, such as more advertising of Scrive. Integration of the Scripts Archive and Scrive are possible, but I have a lot of work to do including learning more php and the sites framework, but I hope we can pull that off. I'm glad you will continuing your VB tutorials, you don't seem very active and I was wondering whether to lock Blackbounds and your forums which would make them read-only forums.
