  1. ^ O.o you dont program a range effect for changing the encounter? thats the easy way to fix that problem xD, just plan the save zone
  2. well, not trying to spoil some things for my game, but I'm doing a mix of both =/. Creatures in the forest, that are likely to give mid to little problem are random -- and so are hidden bandits. but there are also some common NPCs that spawn in different locations on the map depending on the time of day and MAYBE 1 or 2... or 3 random variable gens. --- remember, this is YOUR game... sometimes the player just has to deal with what you decide. You cant make EVERYONE happy... and since (most likely) this is gonna be a given free game, might as well make yourself happy ;) -Zen

    input name process, for which actor you want. afterwards the name is stored for that actor's actor ID to call it, "Show Text" \n[#], thats your name is it not? # represents the actor's ID soooo lets say if i did a name input for actor1 and typed "Zen" it would look like "Zen, thats your name is it not?"
  4. it can be updated to a VAST TMS if you used a variable input. but other than that nice work on making it work =D and thx 4 sharing.
  5. O.o yes the system is done... but im always looking on ways to improve. the system just variable after variable after variable. And a few switches such as titles and when it comes to local news, and or the opinion of a resident, the stored data for the condition of the kingdom. tho, I really just got a turn around on most of these, i still wanna say thanks xD. i was going to script the AI system, but I want to stick to the skeleton of my game programming style guide. and im doing custom scripts and scripts learning all for the next game project, while i do DLC for this game on the side =]. but thanks guys -- and suggestions are still nice ^^
  6. Humanity is in itself a contradiction... People say who are we to play god? well we're only playing god if you believe in god. Who says its a god's choice to decide death anyway? Logically thinking, an eye for an eye is what should be given in terms of a life taken in vein. If they killed painfully, they should die painfully. To take life should give you the right to lose one. Everything is subjective, and will never come to a 100% agreement. It depends on how vengeful, sinful, thoughtful, caring, disregarding you are. plain and simple... but by logic If every life is the same, if you take one away, you should give yours. Balance.

  9. nuh uh xD, wolves take you back =3, but you're robbed by the people/thing that defeated you.
  10. Tested and they work for me O_o -also the HUD now has a working Stamina indicator. It works like the energy for the day. if it reaches 0, you'll have only 1 hour to rest or restore it before you pass out. passing out will send you into a Inn or rest spot. after you've been robbed lol... Will be recruiting for a team soon =](was supposed to be 2days ago, but I wanted to get more done on my own.)

  12. Thanks! That makes me want to throw off more shackles! =] another little hint. Since its known that you have the option to build your own empire during the Young Adult (last life stage), well you can recruit certain people. For instance, you can recruit a Denon to travel with you. This allows you to access the forging in ANY INN. -- Basically some characters come with perks for traveling with you. But if They're not in your party, you can still access their services at your empire. ---think im ready to start recruiting too off to the recruiting section i go xD

  14. sorry dude, im busy with a biggy of my own =/ but i have been looking into a server like concept though. I plan on dissecting Blizz online system to connect it to a C# self-made server. my game itself isnt online, but it'll be under a "Planet Zen" gaming server so players can send mail and check awards. and also get msgs from CZZC staff. basically its a virtual console with a network kinda like PSN lol. hopefully this can give you some idea -- if you've not already started =] ^_^ i will be keeping tabs on your game man.
  15. *UPDATE* -Added Race Sections also I would like to fill you guys in on some not "so so" secret Dev plans. since the game trys to focus on a balance, Potions are not always your best bet. Health is recovered through sleeping and eating meals or snacks. Potions, are an experimental breakthrough in alchemy that only trained alchemist can create. The less experienced alchemist you go to, the more side-effects a potion may have. Becarfule when using them. for a spoiler, a standard hp potion will regain 30hp but give you a state of Defense down. also there is an alchemy system being developed, but its not going to be complex. -- yet The IDEA right now is to later release called, "Look mom, I'm a scientist now!" which allows you to train in the art of alchemy and learn how to make things with specific items on the go. other DLC includes the same with cooking. --- Also there's a dilemma... the world that LoD takes place is... HUGE... so I'm personally trying to decide how many countries and provinces to add for the official release, and what to add in later DLC... I hope to have your comments and thoughts on this =].
  16. oooooo dude i just got goosebumps! this game looks smexy, unique art is always a + no matter what lol. looking forward to it =]. question, just random. Any particular reason you chose to do this in VX? (im thinking because the cutesy art works well with chibi sprites =D) but im just really curious.

Funny lol, I have a lesbian and a gay in my game =o -- Im not gay myself, but my project is a very BIG, open, sandbox like rpg. as such its only logical to have some LGBT content. there's more besides two, but only two are of main interest with content. besides, it opens up to more players who fall under that category lol.

Thats true... not to sound like a secret non-white thing here, but do you guys realize that the only people who can truly be called "Americans" are Natives? -- Nearly every race was brought here or kicked out by force, except the whites (again no racist intended). and when coming to "Independence Day", It should mean freedom of everyone... not just America -- for which they would say only "True Americans" (whites) represent America. so RKO, I agree with you mate... and its not a race thing (for the last time lolz)
  20. cool, i know i got a friend working on a linux os as well, named Fuzion or something. all i can say it looks sleek, new, and modern. hope you guys finish on schedule (but what project ever does xD) good luck, lookin forward to seeing more =3
  21. ok so I've created my own little set-up, not hard but can get complicated. its basically a checker to see what shall the NPC say next. anyway these are all the exterior variables that the system checks. (* means possible, havnt decided yet) -Time of Day *-Weather -What Day -Title of player -Fame of Player -player conversation stats how should i set these up for the logical check? I think if I go with Conv.Stats first it can decide from the start the main base of "Nice/Mean" response, and then go to fame and ect. =]

Updated with more info on the features and added screenshots of the HUD in dev. --I've still gotta add the day indicator --Still gotta add the lamp icon for when a dark area is lit --Need to add Town indicator and ect. as an extra, i plan to release a sneak peek of the intro as the actual game file to certain people. I need input on how the rough sketch looks.
