What the fu.... o_o what's with all these strong adults theme i'm hearing...

Hey everyone who's new to the fourms. Sometime ago Game Dev Unlimited Administrator Polraudio did this topic to post real life pictures of yourself. we had fun in doing this topic. If you guys want to join in do so by posting your picture :) Be aware that I am necro posting and as a Mod i cannot break the rules. You clearly need to have confidence in your game no matter what. I think your biggest error was to release the game unstable and untested. Now i'm not trying to lower your moral but it's mostly the truth. maybe you don't have 100+ downloads because it has a lot of bugs. well let me tell you one thing. in every game that has been created has at least one bug, one bug won't kill your experience. Gamers like me like to abuse bugs because they're ether funny to abuse or if your really bored with the game. Of course if they're Online game glitches/bugs i don't abuse them because it could be a game changing experience. back on topic. don't give up Bob if your going to develop a squeal you need to have awareness in your coding if you don't want any errors. We developers don't know what's limit. You may want to ask someone to make you a patch system for rpg maker xp before you start that way you can patch your game without having to re-upload your game. ACE has such feature and works fine for me. i tend not to have bugs because i am aware of what my have and has. Yeah man i'll download it today and test it out tomorrow.

Me too! I have been working with Unity for quite a while. back in 2009. I liked RPG maker because i needed to learn the basics of game development. and now that i know a lot i'm moving on to Unity. But i wanted to do a very special project before i move on to it. I'm making a Horror game called Repercussions Link:http://www.gdunlimited.net/games/repercussions Not much is in it right now but when i have a huge progress i will have my job done. oh and feel free to post your game project here at GDU. We have the tools, you have the game and imagination.

Well bob it looks like it's my turn to play the game and give you feedback. the game demo you gave me months ago was really good and of course laggy. the cut-scenes felt that it could be more longer and interesting. lets see if you really did do something with the game

Welcome to Game Dev Unlimited diagostimo. We definitely need people like you that does tutorials about your knowledge. I am using RPG maker and Unity as soon as I fully dominate its features. if you need any help with topics like locking them or pinning them on the tutorial section. Don't be shy and ask me. :)

You do have a good point there. Still i think we should go easy on Mark. He already said that he doesn't know about any game engine besides RPG MAKER. Sure RPG MAKER isn't powerful and it still limits the user in many ways. but the rpg maker series are decent game engines especially XP. But on today standards developers are looking for game engines to make money now a days and copy the gaming industry. Which for me is a good start but my only complaint is that many developers now a days don't really care about innovating the industry which saddens me. There are few developers that do such things. Anyway back on topic. I think we should have our doors open to the game engine Unity since most of us are quitting on rpg maker and moving on to Unity which is a really powerful engine (feature wise) and people are starting to use it for it's flexibility. Anyone agrees?

He isn't lying. I don't know if I can talk about our admin's condition. I won't say anything to respect it. To be honest I think we have a lot of good members at Gdu and we still have. If I was a average member and never see activity I would definitely leave. However I think our staff is just lazy to post topics. Same goes to members. No one replys because they're lazy. Since bob and me are global mods we should keep the fourms more active and fun. Make sure that the staff is there for new members.

Update #2 Hello everyone! My name is Omar and i recently developing a horror game repercussions. before i start i like to say to everyone at Game development Unlimited for making repercussions a popular game and making it to the top five. We may not have much games available at the moment but for me, it's an accomplishment. on today's update we will talk about the in-game lighting. I am using Khas Awsome Lighting effect for ACE. which is nothing new and probably many people are already using it. it's a good lighting effect and people don't seem to understand the power of it. I well the lantern and flicker and makes everything even more scarier! and i have a few ideas with these light effects. Now i want to make a horror game feel scary, unsafe, scary. I'm adding footstep sound effects yup what could be a game without sound effects? most of them have dynamic sound range so you won't be hearing one for a really long distance. i am using each region to represent a SE. and i have some footsteps sounds to sound differently. if the player walks on concrete it will sound like your avatar is walking on concrete. if your avatar is walking on mud the footsteps will change to a more mushy icky sound effect... Each region is using a different sound effect. Last but not least the title screen It's not much right now. the options are pixelated and the title isn't displaying. also that background isn't fitting. it's all in it's time.. but i have good ideas to make it appealing. Wow a lot of people use VX. for me i personally like XP because of it's mapping. i may sound like a hypocrite for using Ace but i wanted to do something different things on Ace, VX isn't that bad but the mapping is more limited than it's predecessor and successor. making it a limited basic engine.
