  1. I hear what you're saying and agree for the most part, but I do feel that this time round it will be a big competitor against other platforms. It actually has decent hardware, and hardware that is ready to compete with other next gens (when they come out). We already have ports of popular games which should mean the games that will come out for the other consoles will also come for Wii U making it a competitor that's on the same level as everything else.
  2. Welcome to GDU Tseng! It's always nice to hear that someones game is developing on the right track, and congrats on all those certifications!
  3. I'm currently invading and taking over the 'Latest Posts' feed... >:)

  4. Hey good luck with your grades Franklin, you'll do good! and I'm in no doubt we'll see you again after your done with school :D
  5. I am tempting to pre-order but I'm trying to resist the urge.
  6. Playing other games people have made also interests me, to see how they've pulled it off and I start anylising all aspects of it. I always go by a couple of rules, one of which is that music is one of, if not the, most powerfull feature a game would hold.
  7. In theory it's quite a good idea and I like it, but the fear is if the auther would actually bother to give out appropriate Reps or even if they remember to do so. Say if a new member joins, will they just dissappear as soon as their request is fullfilled/ helped out.
  8. I've composed my first piece of music, I'll let you know that composing audio is not my forte. All feedback welcome, and do keep in mind this is my first finished piece and there will probably be issues. Personally, it begins to give me a headache after a while. I planned on using it in a dark and creepy level in Lumis, but I think it's too harsh on the ears, I'll need to tone it down and possibly incorporate a little beat to it. But I feel I did somewhat attain my original aims of creating an eerie, sadistic and creepy piece of music. Thanks for reading. Here it is: http://soundcloud.com/you/tracks
  9. I'll have to try this one out some time, toorrow should be good. Right now I'm going off to bed.
  10. Of course we missed you, welcome back/ to GDU!
  11. I like my sexy Windows 7 Theme with it's sexy colour scheme and with my sexy vector art.
  12. Oh I didn't even see those tabs! I am terrible at finding things on websites anyway, I spends ages just trying to find a certain tab or phrase.
  13. Most of Facebook users are always out of date.
  14. What get's you motivated or inspired to continue making a game or to create a new one all together? I've often wondered this and thought it would be interesting for others share their side. I have a few things that get me going: music, nature, demoscenes and space. Space to me is almost like a dream, it is so vast, so dense and so msytical that anything could be possible out there. It also inspires me to create new fantastic creatures, environments and emotions to put into my game ideas. These below are some of the stuff that really get me motivated: This is jsut screaming to be made into a game! Especially when you see the potential enemies at 3:05
  15. This one is specifically within Chat. I kept on seeing double posts after around 20-ish minutes of being in the Chat. Had to go to forum index then into Chat to fix it.
  16. "Open condom style!" Yeah, we all heard it before. Hilareous when it first came out, soon became viral.
  17. The only way I can see anyone elses update, is by clicking my own status then selecting to view all updates.
  18. I thought this might come in handy for some people, especially for logo/ icon making for projects. If you find this helpful then be sure to give me a +1 rep, appreciated. What I will cover: Creating a Document Basic pre-made shapes. Basic Lines. Making custom shapes. Fill-colour shapes. Two basic but primary tools are the 'Selection Tool' and 'Direct Selection Tool'. Selection Tool allows you to select anything and move it around. Direct Selection Tool allows you to select an object and then move each individual point. You can adjust curves in lines when using the Arc Tool for example. Creating A Document: So to begin with we need to create a new document. There's a few options you could choose, some standard formats some cusotm to what you need. We will create a standard document, see image below. Leave all these settings as they are, but chnage the 'Width' and 'Height' to whatever resolution you desire. I've elft mine as 1920x1080 as that's my screen resolution. Click 'OK' and you're done. Layers: Layers are one of the most valuable aspects to both Illustrator and Photoshop, they give you freedom to edit seperate layers that contain seperate work so everything sin't merged into one layer. For starters, to show the Layers option either press F7 or click 'Windows' and select the 'Layers' option. Now move to your Panels bar, it should be located to the far right. You 'Layers' tab should be located in this Panel. See image below. That icon of the two squares overlaying each other is the 'Layers' tab. Once clicked a small window should open besides it. At the bottom of this window, there should be three very small icons, the first creates a sub layer (leave it alone for now), the second creates a new layer and the third deletes the selected layer. Placing Shapes: Placeing shapes is as easy as 1-2-98. Click the star icon on the afr left panel. Click and hold down to bring up different shapes. Once selected simply clikc and drag shapes on your document. Custom Lines: Select the line icon on the far left panel, this is the line tool. Simialr to the Shapes tool, click and hold down to bring up more options such as the 'Arc Tool' which allows you to create curved lines. Select the Direct Selection Tool and you can adjust the curves of any curved line. Creating New Shapes: Use the Selection Tool, make sure all lines are touch each other for this to work! Drag and select all lines that you want as a shape, right click and select 'Join'. This now makes the selected lines a shape. Collour Fill Shapes: Select a shape with the Select Tool, click Swatch to the far right panel (If not available select 'Window' at the top and select Swatches). Choose whatever colour you wish and bam! the shape is now coloured. Thanks for reading, I may go over in detail and improve this quick guide at a alater date, right now I'm a little tired but I wnated to get it out. jokes aside, thanks for reading!
  19. Those are pretty accurate and mix strangely well together.
  20. I have zero interest in Tekkit, all those tubes and what not is just not my style looks too over complex. What does it actually benefit for the game? micro blocks hasn't been updated since 1.7.2 release, shame looks really good
  21. I'm already playing a few that I'm happy with, I jsut want to enjoy playing Minecraft again. Don't like Terraria, and making a game will take far too long :P Well I'm working my way back into Lumis but it's too overwhelming
  22. I'm bored of Minecraft and have been for the past few months. Is there anything anyone can suggest that might get me back playing it? Also the new sidways log has got to be the most frustrating and silly feature ever.... I'm a builder, it's all I do in Minecraft and it is so finicky, time wasting and frustrating to place logs in the correct angle.
