  1. ahh, well not hardware specifically no, that comes under something they aim to test
  2. Wiki paste: What they are: They are all demos within the Demoscene. Demos reached their peak in popularity during the years of Amiga and Accommodore 64. Demos aimed to push the boundaires of current hardware and show off what the team could pull off in real time. There has been some outstanding demos released, some of which whent further than what was thought possible. This is also when chiptunes where at a high! Today demoscene isn't as popular, but still active with some spectacular releases broadening peoples imagination and huge inspirations. It is an art form, as you may notice in the video below and even back in the days amazing pixel art was drawn. Just watch the videos and hopefully you too will see the ebauty they hold. This below is by called The Butterfly Effect by ASD, one of my favourite groups. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vF-eVnqq-bw&list=FL7UPdpeGZIsYCafQvc3KtTQ&index=4&feature=plpp_video Download: http://www.pouet.net...php?which=57350 This is isnane... Using atoms and points they make an entire fully 3D world. Much better detail than polygons don't you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON4N0yGz4n8 Download: http://www.pouet.net...php?which=54603 Another one by them, love the music It kills many many computers...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grqb1aIa_4s Download: http://www.pouet.net...php?which=55558 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8cygiOJWKk Download: http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=57608 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVpjs8ENPRI Download: http://www.pouet.net...php?which=56859 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjGt2JlkUJk Download: http://www.pouet.net...php?which=25774 Here is a great website with many demos on there, have a look at the top 10! http://www.pouet.net/index.php Remember these ar ALL done in real time, so keep in mind if you try to run these, be sure you have a powerfull computer otherwise some won't even load Original Post:

  7. last year around this time I was at home enjoying myself along with depression, worry, pressure and feeling crap. My career path at uni was in a critical state, my choices wheren't great, people around me seemed to either conciously or subconciously control me and make decisions for me and social life whent to a low. This year right now, I'm at home, unemployed, huge optimism, happy, life falling back into good standing, motivated, ambitious, doing what I love most (art and creativity), better social life, more enthusiastic, even had a week intern at job and generally far bloody better. My plans are huge for this year, I know I probably wont achieve them 100% in 1 year but there's so much stuff I want to do as they were hindered for the last 2 years+, mainly to do with my career in games development.
  8. thanks :) I'll try it out when i go on linux next

  11. Is there any programs similar to TeamViewer but to connect from Windows to Ubuntu 11.10?
  12. Lillium is amazing, I love it and love the series!
  13. Warning! The video below may cause mind shattering
  14. What are your favourite minecraft mods? can be any at all, give your choice(s) and reasoning behind it :) My favs are: Too Many Itmes - Soooo handy, it used to be amazing for smp servers when Creative Mode wasn't released. I still prefer it to the Creative menu and tend to stay in SP but use TMI mod. Single Player Commands - Crazy helpfull for terraforming with World Edit cmds and general efficiency. I can fly around and move at any speed I wish with ease.
  15. good to see more people are entering!
  16. yeah I dug around and found this "The unknown whereabouts of Mama and Papa is necessary for this series to be soo good." the boy in the image is called Ao so, looks like we won't be seeing any of Eureka or Renton..., which might just ruin the new series, hopefully it turns out good!
  17. I'm in! I'll try and have a good go when it starts :)
  18. is it a new series then? or just airing the series on tv? if it's new, then this is the most shocking thing ever! I thought they where never going to make a new series, sooo excited if it is new!!! =DDDD
  19. Thank you very much! Everything is still in early stages, so that's why i'm trying different art approaches
  20. I'll vote for Kell version 2.0
  21. As I promised, the Friday update is today and so I have fresh stuff to share! Not much I'm afraid but it's something (at least for a weeks work anyway). Before I get started, I'd like tos ay that no updates will be held untill mid-January 2012! This will be noted in the first post. Update: So, this week has been exciting! Two new team members have been accepted into BurningFossil helping work on Lumis One who we all know very well , new character designs have been created in draft form (so nothing amazing), new level designs, marketing ideas and a few other minor details. As the game has just re-opened, anything is subject to heavily change over time, I've currently set down a specific style for Lumis, one which I intend to keep familiar with. 23/12/2011 Images: Compare the two below, the looks changes quite a bit. what do you think? Click for full size This one below is a drastic change in art style! But I adore the intricate details involved, a lot of time spent on it Even though they are only objects and isn't a full piece. Happy Christmas Holidays and all have a good New Year! Cya in mid January
  22. To The Moon won Directors Choice for best SinglePlayer title on IOTY 2011 over at IndieDB

  23. ahh eyah that does sound like the best way, I do my artwork in a simialr manner. Start off with big abstract shapes, then erase and add details, I think when I level design I over think stuff and become overwhelmed then lose track of everything
