  1. Thanks! Crimson, I used to have a DA many moons ago...but I don't now lol but I might in the future. I think I didn't like how categories were managed in DA. At the moment I am working on a Tumblr for my art and stuff. The link is in my sig. There's little to nothing on it at this time, though. Franklin, On the contrary I am currently attending Academy of Art University. In fact, if it wasn't for the classes I took earlier this year (my first year) I wouldn't of made anything like these because before the class I never touched charcoal before as a medium. If you remember my earlier thread I had some 'portraits' I did from a while back but they don't look nearly as good as the one here because I was inexperienced lol. Plus realism isn't exactly my strong suit lol.
  2. Hmm, well, before we began the assignment we had to bring a high-quality black and white photo of an actor/actress. I decided to do an actor from the older generations because, well, black and white photos of them are easier to find. While brainstorming Vincent Price was one of the listed choices because I remembered him from House of Haunted Hill, Edward Scissorhands and as the narrator for Thriller. I chose him because I think he's cool, that's all.
  3. lol "The Derpy" I'll be honest It's not the first time someone mistook it as me pinning a cloth to a canvas..lol. Really, though, when I started these I really wasn't sure how they'd turn out because I've never touched charcoal as a drawing medium before taking that class :| but I have been drawing with a pencil for a long time so I guess that helps :P Or maybe I'm pretty good with my hands (LADIES...;)). Thanks a lot, guys!
  4. Hello, earlier (well, way earlier) I had a topic that showed a drapery drawing in progress. Well, here is the finished piece! Also, I did a portrait of Vincent Price. They were both for school and they took a long time. Both were done entirely with charcoal. Here they are! The drapery: Vincent Price portrait:
  5. Thank the lord! Been trying to log in for the past month. Password recovery wasn't sending emails and just now the password popped in my head.

  6. It's one of my homework/class work assignments for school. It's not complete, but I like how it's going so far. This is done completely with charcoal. Well, here it is!
  7. I still play. 80 hours in and I still feel like I haven't done anything. I'm a level 72 Nord werewolf melee user. Yeah I have (as well as others most likely) killed a lot of dragons, but just when I need them to unlock shouts I can't find them anywhere lol. My guy is named Ragnar, after Ragnar Lodbrok (He's a (if not the most) legendary Viking in real life) :3 It's quite a transition from Oblivion 'cause It feels like so much has changed, even the controls feel a bit different, but once you start playing more you get used to it. You're actually doing the right thing if you're just running around getting lost - the game is all about exploration. If you get lost, just go with it. The quest markers will always be there in case you need them. Otherwise my advice would be to just pick a direction and go forward. You'll always find something.
  8. The site you are looking for is http://fayforest.sakura.ne.jp/sozai/english.html EDIT: Hmm, it looks like the site's down, too... I do have the faces saved for my own (I don't have any face 'sets', or different expressions for the same face, just one pic for each face). If I'm able to maybe I can email them in an attachment for you? Or better yet, am I able to put these in the resource section for the site? The original site is down and it should be fine as long as I give original credit, right?
  9. In Skyrim's case, I felt that way when I finally decided to actually DO the main quests, and by then I was level 52, but that wasn't what made me feel less accomplished. since I play Elder Scrolls games for exploration and not difficulty. It's just that some of the quests for the Stormcloaks were involved, then it just turned into "take this fort after fighting a couple waves of Imperials." A funny thing I found was after putting the Stormcloaks in control, in the lower level of the Blue Palace in Solitude every Jarl that supported the Imperials are down there, and when you walk down there you get an immediate death glare from all of them. lol. It's weird, though. The Dragonborn and Civil War questlines felt the longest to me. There were only like 6-7 quests for the Companions and College of Winterhold, compared to say Oblivion where the Guilds had enough lengthy quests to be a standalone game (The Mage Guild Recommendation part was ridiculous lol). The Faction quests were really interesting and involved, though, Quality over quantity I'm guessing, lol. Not that it's a detriment to my experience in Skyrim in any way, but it was just something I noticed. I still have the Bard's College, Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild to do...and some of the non-marked side-quests have quite a bit of depth to them. Have you heard of Red Eagle? Or the history of Dragonsreach? I actually fought Olaf One-Eye 'cause apparently I walked right into his tomb while exploring.
  10. True, that and these days you got these kids whose first consoles were the Xbox 360, Ps3 and/or Wii and probably haven't heard of any of the older ones, consoles or games. Hell, I know someone who plays Skyrim but never knew there were any older Elder Scrolls games.
  11. Meanwhile, in The Binding of Isaac...5 Mom kills and 0 deaths. I hope this streak lasts...

  12. I felt that it kind of ended too quickly and abruptly. Maybe one of the 'grand' dlc packs will have an aftermath questline unlocked after finishing the civil war questline, just to tie up loose ends and maybe actually drive out the Thalmor, kind of like Fallout 3's Broken Steel.
  13. Well, one morning my dude woke up in his lonely hut in the outskirts near Solitude and said to himself "Hey, this civil war sucks. I'm going to end it." Then the question remained on whether or not to join the Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion. I've had this problem for about half my playing time, which right now is maybe 40-ish hours. After some time, I joined the Stormcloaks. My overall outlook on the situation showed that both sides have their negatives and positives. At first the Imperials sounded good because looking at the extreme revolt seemed idiotic, especially with the current situation an order and strong, striving government was needed. I almost joined Imperial after talking with Elisif in Solitude (Jarl and future Empress). She seemed to understand the negatives that were seen by those who supported the Stormcloaks and was a very orderly and respectful person. I sided with the Stormcloaks for a few main reasons. The Imperials seemed to be collapsing already, and have sold out and surrendered to the Elves, or the Thalmor, and agreed to remove Talos from everyday worship, a god that was the most famous of Dragonborns. I can understand some of the terms that would be dealt, but also not knowing much of the previous war, I don't see a reason to why the Imperials would have to surrender or give up their name. The failure in that war makes me think that the Imperials are already starting to dissolve. The corruption that's present in the game is well shown as well. I've had a few times where the Imperials would demand money from me as I walk down the road, like bandits, and although all government gains corruption to have the soldiers be disobedient enough to force money from people is a problem. Most importantly, well, to myself at least, when I look at the Stormcloak movement and who they are, I see the American Revolution. Yes, America would have been stable and have more support if we didn't rebel against the British Empire, but we wanted our society to have the rights in which we believed to the core, and to have our society guided by a government that was not even part of our nation useless. The Stormcloaks represent this well. Yes, they're a bit racist, though they will accept others after they trust them, and the Stormcloaks bringing order back to Skyrim will be a difficult one, but I sided with them because they know that they way their nation is being abused by the Imperials is not the way they wish to live, the Jarls are tyrants with way too much power and the Stormcloaks are there to finally bring some equality to the people's needs and wants in their society....Even though Ulfric can come off as a douche sometimes. A question, though, is what will come after this? In the end other nations around Skyrim will see this, and just like the American Revolution will other nations realize that if another nation can do it, so can we?
  14. Barely lol. I taught myself how to read just in case I ever wanted to learn an old score or something, but most of the time I just follow along using GuitarPro or TuxGuitar. Reading sheet is kind of like learning a second language. The bands I mentioned before have really beautiful-sounding keyboards (especially Nightwish) and are just really fun to play. I don't write compositions or anything, all I do is play covers, and knowing that eventually I'll be able to play along to Mask of Sanity or Gethsemane is what keeps me going. I'm not really a musician in that right, I just wanted to learn an instrument and the keyboard sounded fun..well, that and everyone else in my area all played guitar.
  15. I think they become "old school" when they stop manufacturing them. Technically the original xbox is old school, and recently the GBA was declared a "relic" earlier this year. Anyhoo... I recommend you pick up the Zelda Collector's Edition, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (TP much better on GC than the Wii), Eternal Darkness, TimeSplitters 2 and Beyond Good and Evil....and you know, for laughs...Killer 7.
  16. I've played the keyboard for about 4 years now, and I'm self-taught so the learning process is slower than some but better paced for me. It's really fun. My inspirations are Nightwish, Alestorm and Children of Bodom \m/ I can also play some Within Temptation and a few Zelda songs.
  17. Skyrim: Lycanthropy > Vampirism. Suck it, Edward Cullen.

  19. Sorry, don't mean to double-post, but these are pretty recent entries. I should figure out a way to organize all of this :| Scott Pilgrim: Earthworm Jim: The Four Horsemen: Pestilence: War: Famine: Death:
  20. Sweet, reminds me of a Grimm tale for some reason. Or like in old stories the first letter in the story looks all fancy-like.
  21. I hope you don't get overwhelmed easily lol, everyone I talked to gave me a quest of some sort. There's just so much packed in this game, I'm 60 hours in, level 39 and haven't even done the main quest aside from killing my first dragon. I just started pursuing the Dark Brotherhood and through reasons unknown (no spoilers here) I'm a werewolf now. I recently got done doing a Hangover-esque quest and revealed a Vampire conspiracy in a small town.
  22. Forget killing Dragons in Skyrim, I just killed a butterfly. A goddamned butterfly.

  23. Well, went with the whole 'Scandinavian' theme of Skyrim and made a Nord. Still on the Sword and Shield combo but I'm looking into focusing on Destruction spells as well...and hell, while I'm at it I might as well join the Companions. Already fought a few dragons (awesome) annnnnnnd got lost while exploring...then preceded to get one-shot by a Giant.
