  1. hmmm....are you sure? My rpg maker doesn't play a SE for missing. Which battle system are you using? EDIT: I am pretty sure the hit/miss sound effects are controlled by the individual animation of that attack
  2. I think you might be over thinking the solution. In order for a sprite to have through enabled, you have to enable it no? So why not, wherever in your events you enable "through", turn on a switch. If that switch is on, through is enabled.

  6. Sometimes, the answer is simpler than one may think. You can copy and paste tileset entries in the database. When doing this, it actually copies over all flags and settings. Also, in case anyone was wondering, you can copy over any entity in RPG Maker with this method

  8. If you are using photoshop, I wouldn't even bother with making a "transparent" color. If you add the alpha channel yourself in photoshop, and just make background 0% alpha (transparent), then you do not even need to import the picture. Copy + paste right to the folder and it will work. When you choose a color in the import tool, all the tool does is take every pixel with that color and sets the alpha to 0 for you, in case you do not have a tool/image editor that supports alpha channels.
  9. Usually that means the picture you are importing already has an alpha transparency channel. Try using the images and see if the "transparent color" is actually transparent in-game.

  13. So, basically, you want the battle system to strictly set the order of action based on the battler with the highest agility, to the battler with the lowest agility? I can take a look. EDIT: Apparently, RPG Maker does order the characters by greatest speed to least speed....however for WHATEVER reason, they mess with the speed before sorting the battlers (they add a random number to each battlers speed ... lol). if you just add this snippet of code, somewhere AFTER Game_Battler1,2,3 It should fix that. class Game_Battler #-------------------------------------------------------------------------- # * Determine Action Speed #-------------------------------------------------------------------------- def make_action_speed @current_action.speed = agi end end
  14. Merged topics. I hope I did that right...first time I've ever had to merge topics...xD If Enterbrain does not upgrade to the Ruby 1.9.x interpreter, I b mad bro. There would be no excuse not to, Ruby is free, open source and can natively/directly interface with C. On the website that stardust posted, it stated RGSS3 would be faster at processing, which to me sounds like they have upgraded the interpreter, as the major fix from (I have probably stated this a lot already lol) 1.8.x to 1.9.x was processing speed. but anyways, can I say for the 1000th time I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR OFFICIAL INFO ON RGSS3????
  15. Well then, it seems like you have a bad case of the microsoft windows. Right click on My Computer > Properties Then click (in the left panel) "Device Manager" Look for "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" Make sure you have something listed...if it is listed, and recognized, try updating your drivers. If it's not listed, or not recognized (either missing, or has a question mark for an icon) then we have probably found the issue and can go from there.

  22. Scanned with Panda Cloud, no results either. I think this one is safe to call a false positive. The largest downside with some anti-viruses, are that their virus libraries/databases rely on user collected data, and can lead to incorrect information being stored. Or, some software works with a system that may seem "malicious" to an anti-virus, even if it isn't actually doing anything malicious. Nonetheless, you were definitely right in bringing it to our attention, thank you.
  23. Yea Jon Bon is right. I have only seen popular fan games get cease and desist letters. Besides, if you played a terrible fangame/knockoff/remake, would that make you dislike the original anymore? or the company that made the original? No, because it wasn't their creation. And besides, if the game is bad, what are the chances that it would get big enough for the original creator to care? Or even find out about it? And like Jon Bon said, if the project is gathering large amounts of traffic, it can be seen as a threat by the original creator. The creator does not lose reputation if someone makes a bad fangame, but they probably will if someone makes a fangame BETTER than the original.
  24. No, as it is now, it cannot access the scripts of encrypted games. It loads the scripts game from the .rvproj/.rxproj file, and an encrypted archive does not have these files. Mind you, there are easier ways to get scripts/resources from an encrypted archive anyways. RPG Maker Xp/VX doesn't really have that great of an encryption function tbh.
