A suggestion for the 'SP' (script points)
Arkbennett replied to Leon's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
Whoa, I totally missed this topic. Sorry for the abscence guys! lol. Anyhow. First off, this is one of the best ideas to hit RMXP. It could significantly get this site going. However, I disagree with posting and getting SP points. I think they should be awarded through contests, or other contributions like uploading files to the resources database. There is another issue I have, and it is contests. It's hard to explain what I'm trying to say, but I feel like people won't take creating them into thought and will just spam them, either that, or jack up the SP reward. I'm really not pointing at any members, I'm just pointing at human nature. I almost wanna say we should get contests approved by the admins and or staff. If we were bigger, we could have a "council" type situation who could vote on this matters. But I'm not suggesting this, just commenting on a possible "Cheat the system" situation people might use. Oh, and instead of an admin who gives out points to winners by going through every single topic, the host of the contest should PM the Admin and make him aware of a new contest and the winners. I'm not trying to make the admin appear "lazy" or anything. I just know the admins have their own lives, and they can't be browsing the forum through every topic all day. Especially when the forum is getting bigger and bigger. -

I wish I could give this a go. But I'll be gone for thanksgiving. Perhaps when I get back. -
Script Points. A way for him to track how many script points each member has. You can use them to get Leon to make a script for you 'n stuff. Great idea btw Leon.

Yeah. Why do you have four, and I don't have mine?

Bans Kiriashi for saying "Yep!".

I do. I don't own the game, nor have I played it. But my friend got it. He kept falling behind level wise though.
-
Chea. I would. I'm gonna add more shit this weekend.
-
lol yeah. I didn't realized they were restored. lol. And I'm glad you've decided that. I was gonna ask you to update the history once you got back.

Welcome back dude. Your the third returning member this past week.

The first one is familiar but I can't recall the quote. The second one, I have a hunch. But...

With all due respect polraudio, you should spend much more than 30 minutes to make a good looking map. 30 minutes makes an adequate map, I feel. I think to make a really good map, you should at least devote an hour to and hour and a half. Maybe less if it's a small map. But that's just my opinion.

lol. I'm sorry, I've been playing R2 and COD:WaW online a lot, so I hardly get on. But I do get on the forums around 4-5 times a day, so send me a message when you need me. I'm sure to get on.

Most/Least favorite parts of making a game.
Arkbennett replied to Leon's topic in General Game Development
My favorite is brainstorming ideas and writing them down. The imagining it. My least favorite part is realizing it won't be as great as I imagined and finding resources. -
Supe Pirate, don't forget I'm here for you on VX Chronicles!
-
I'll check it out when I get home. School computer doesn't allow certain pictures for some odd reason.
-
Yo! I remember why you left, it's because we got into a divorce and you couldn't handle the akwardness. So you left me and took the kids. SO welcome back! ...What happened to the kids...?

That's always good to hear that your improving your game. As far as the benchs go, you can do whatever you want. You've heard feedback.
-
Don't get offended. Ratty is a little aggressive - yes. But what he says is true. I don't see why that bench should be there, especially if it were a busy street. The cave map is poor - I know of know cave that goes as straight as that and has a perfect 90 degree bend. Not only that, but the cave ceiling has its corners missing. This should be remedied. The tilesets may not look like much, but with an artistic mind and some time. You could make them look great. Don't rush into making the game. Take some time; good maps usually take an hour or so to make.
