Ok, i have officially decided on a name for the game im working on. I'll say what it is latter, but its going to be a survival-ish horror game (although, im useing that term loosely. theres only so much one can do with a 2-d engine, though i have played a game where someone pulled off the survival horror theme quite nicely). It is enspired in part but RE game play, but will not be an actual shooter, and instead a traditional turnbased battler with guns and ammo and malee weapons and such. Other then that, im still just working on the gameplay aspects as i go... Now for the reason im makeing this post. Im trying to figure out how i can make sertain special peices of equipment (a sort of accessory, im calling them "Gear".) that when equiped would add a new command during battle that could even contain other learnable abbilitys. Im intending this to allow a player to customize its characters for certain situations. Like a Character could be equiped with an item called "First Aid Kit" and would be able to serve the purpose of a healer that has far better useage than just useing items (is any of this confuseing?) Im still looking around and tinkering with RMVXA to see if i can figgure it out myself, but if anybody knows how i might be able to do this, please kindly post. Thanks

This is a sample of a map i made useing some tiles from the RTP that i edited useing gimp. I mostly recolored or shaded them, but i did a clever thing (or what i think was clever) with the Auto tile Tables in the one called My Object Tiles .png. Try it out. I worked really hard on these, man my eyes really hurt.... But im getting better and better at useing gimp. Also, the tile edits are free to use if you like, no need for credit, i do this just for the fun of it. Also, tell me what you think of the map i made, plz. Thanks :-D

@ Kellessdee- LOL!! OMG!!! I didint know CAVE STORY was free on the internet! I played the demo of it on the wii, it was awesom!!! I had planed to buy it at some point on my 3ds, i still might but now i can play it on my computer! thanks alot for telling me that. Also, i have tried to make my own graphics in the past, actually i was working on graphics for a RE (Resident Evil) remake with another member a few months back (we never got finished, i was beginning to feel overwelmed. Also i lost track of the other member.) Everything i made was from scratch, and aside from the tiles being a bit clunky, i thought it looked pretty good. Sprites is where i fail big, they always look out of place. @ Jon Bon- Thank you Jon Bon, i really appreciate that. Thanks yall! Ive got lots, LOTS, of ideas when it comes to stories for a game. As far as gameplay goes, i think i could make a decent classic rpg like FF4 or something. Though i plan to make it better than that. But actually....all ive really gotton done is some tiles edited....so its all still pretty much in my head. :.( . I have game creation block.... @ Moonpearl, Justabox21- If you dont mind shareing, whats sort of game play does your curent project have? Just a general turnbased rpg?

Under advicery, I post this question. I wanted to know how many of you use the RTP to make your games? I often get overwelmed because i feel like unless i make my own resources from scratch, my game (should i ever get one completed) will not make the cut. Im ok at editing the rtp, but i still find myself disatisfied. Also, im very intrested in parallax mapping, and from the tutorials ive read i think i have a good idea of how it works, the only thing im haveing trouble with that at the moment is that i keep reading that theres a scrip thats needed to do parallax maps, but no one (thats i know of) has made one for VX ace yet.

....smart phones in general i think are over rated. They are nice to have....but then they do eventually get old. I like the iphone over droid.

yeah, i know i must have lost track of somthing somewhere. lol But i what was up with the all water map? thats only happend to once before.....i couldent build anything in survival mode.....

O-M-GOSH!!! I just saw HEROBRINE!!!!.....lol, i really did but i think it was just the mod i installed earlier.....but...actually...now that i think about it, no i didint.....hmmm. I just generated a new world, but i spawned on an island in the middle of a huge ocean.....i had too many items on so i switched to creative mode so i could fly....but i only found a few other very small islands. Anyway, i spawned a map so i could get a good idea of where i was and where the islands were, but then the next thing i know im turning a little to the right AND THERS HEROBRINE ON AN ISLAND!!!..... I honestly dont know what that was about, i remember downloading a mod for Herobrine but i never installed it..... 0.0 .....at least i dont remeber if i did..... and have any of you ever spawned in a totally aquatic world (save for a few island) before? I think all these stories about herobrine are a bit intresting, lol. What do yall think? Oh, and by the way, i just saw him and X-ed the heck off as fast as i could, lol :P . PS- I think it was a mod.....but before i generated that world i KNOW i forced an update....dont mods get eraced when you do that? And also, i downloaded a few different herobrine mods....but i dont remember installing any previously. LOL, maybe i just lost track, it sure freaked me out!! ROFL. Anyway, just wanted to post something i thought was intresting.

Im looking for a tutorial on Parallax Mapping in VXACE, ive found alot of them (including a script thats needed for it to work) for VX but the script wont work with VXACE, will it? Anyway, i need help with this on VXACE. I link to one would be much appreciated. Thanks. :)
