  2. Been a while! School + travels + new hobbies have been crazy. I was auditing chemistry and a little calc over the summer, which took most of my time. I found myself in Pennsylvania for a good while as well (Gettysburg was groovy, let me live in the museum forever). I'm also suddenly an admin of a Marvel/DC roleplaying site, so that's another thing. Last year of high school, too! Which means college upcoming. I haven't started apps yet. RIP. But I've managed to finally get control of my schedule! So hello to all you nerds again, I'll be back to bother y'all.
  3. I totally remember you, even if we just talked briefly (if at all? I'm sure I did direct a comment here and there at you). Anywho, welcome back!
  4. I remember coming to this site in 2012? 2013? I've known about it even before I had an account. I'm glad that the community is still alive, watching the site grow in the last few years has been awesome... let alone the past 10 years, which I wasn't here for. :D
  5. Everyone is saying that it's improved in every way except mapping. How much more improved is the eventing, out of curiosity?
  6. *squints at date of last posted* *contemplates consequences of necroposting* ... eh. I'd really like to revive this thread, though, so have a map. No, seriously, this thread seems super cool. I'd like to have more recent members see and maybe get interested in this kind of discussion. :D
  7. This looks amazing. "X"actly what I need to make uploading faster and easier. ;D (such puns) Thanks, Pol!
  8. Updating post! 14 February 2016. Been a long time, but I added two or three new drawings into the main post. Have a looksie! I think I've improved a ton, actually. Then again, it's been months--if I didn't improve, I'd probably be doomed to bad drawings forever lol.
  9. Struggling against having a crush on the ten dollar founding father

  10. I loved Inglourious Basterds. I've been meaning to watch Pulp Fiction soon, too. Anyone know if it's any good?
  11. So, I'm making a new game and it's supposed to take place entirely in a wasteland. I was just curious--do you guys know any good exterior tilesets for this sort of setting? Something that's not as plain and ugly as the desert tileset, but something with variety and objects like cliffs, trees, rubble, etc. This is my first time attempting a game with a more barren atmosphere, and I'm not sure how to approach mapping this new sort of environment. Any tips/suggestions?
  12. what programming language does this site run on anyway?

I liked Tony even when I put Loki as my icon. Iron Man was always my favourite MCU character. :)

Of course this site uses a lot of javascript, but it's only on the front-end. Javascript runs in the browser and therefore us public to all, whereas php runs on the server and spits out HTML (and js or links to js) to the browser. Although JS can used server-side too.

  13. Hmm, I think some flowers and similar things would be nice. I see a lot of grey, green, and reddish-orange--some nice flowers with a variety of colour would help to mix that up a bit. MV does let you import custom tiles/tilesets, right? (What am I kidding, if they didn't then there'd be hell for sure.) ... why is cloud shadow not a thing in MV.
  14. recreating Ace Attorney in RPG Maker is easy, they said. It's a good idea, they said.

  15. I only recently realised (about a couple weeks ago?) that you could save by clicking anywhere on the page after you edit. I personally got attached to that way of saving after a while of doing it, but young me would've probably appreciated a manual save button.
  16. I just wing it. Mostly, I let the player pick up various/miscellaenous items from chests, if they choose to explore and go through the trouble of solving puzzles. To me, what's the point of looking for the stuff if you can buy a ton of it in the store? I mean, it's free, but it's not interesting for me. :P Though you can overlap items if you like, there's no rule against that. Since my game is set up to be *cough cough* realistic *cough not really*, you can go around and pick up things that are easily picked up in real-life places. For example, in a cafe, the player can pick up a pastry that has some HP, but the pastry's not sold/found anywhere else in the game. I just tend to go with the flow and let the player pick up different things. They probably won't care one way or another as long as it can heal them, unless you're so random or ridiculous that you somehow get people to complain about that kind of thing.
  17. I watched Devilman: The Birth and Devilman: The Demon Bird this Thanksgiving holiday with my cousins. Such good movies. <3

  19. I want to toss two scripts together to make one functional script. I've been messing around in both, but it's clear that I won't be able to do it with my skill level (which is Level 0). I don't know if a script like the one I want is possible to make, but I figure I might as well get some feedback from people and see. ^That would be Scene_Item, but I changed the name to Court_Record. And then this: This is Moghunter's picture gallery script, which allows you to call a scene that lets you view pictures. You can zoom in too, but I took that function out. It still makes the confirm SE when you press the zoom keys, but I'll figure remove that later. What I want to be able to do is have one whole script that works like Scene_Item, but with the graphics of the second script. That way, when you click on the item, it shows an image displaying the item description and picture. Ideally, there would be a way to select the item from the menu as well and call a common event from there by pressing another button (other than Enter or C). I don't know if a script like this is possible, but please let me know how I'd go about it! I'm trying to figure out what I can do with this, or else I might just go and create an evented picture system that allows me to do something similar. Thanks to everyone in advance! ~Kitsuki

    Your Pics

y'know what would make this CV fire, if you edit yourself in Paint and add a bowler hat and a dank mustache ... I just woke up, my brain not functional--I swear when I turn in my college apps the only skills and talents listed will be "dank memes", "swag moneeey" and "immature Paint 'photoshopping'" In all seriousness. You're looking snazzy! It's a lovely photo. Even without the mustache and hat. (Everyone posting on this thread will now receive the mustache/hat treatment, post your pic at your own risk.)
  21. Nice post, Pol. Agree with pretty much everything. One of the problems with people starting with RPG Maker (even with more experienced users) is that they don't think about the environment they're creating. Which creates a lot of the empty feeling/atmosphere, as well as lack of immersion, I get when I playing newcomers' games. Something that helps me is looking at pictures or floor plans of real, existing buildings. I would suggest doing that for nature too, but that's above my pay grade--it was always more of Germany's thing. So not sure if for nature it helps. But floor plans are amazing. <3 I kind of disagree. Maybe it's because I play games where the creator doesn't care to add anything, but if I don't get text then I automatically assume I'm not getting much from the game. So I stop looking at all. But I see your point... I guess for me it depends on if you overdo it. I don't want ten pages of text when a pot fails to give me some gold.
  22. Ooh, law. That sounds interesting. Maybe you can finally dig up all the info on piracy you wondered about. What field of law, though? I actually don't know how hard it would be to do the filtering (always bugs me when I ask for things and I don't know how hard they'll be to accomplish P:), so... pass on that. There weren't many scripts at a time until RPG Maker MV came out, anywho. There is a problem with blogs, though. On some game pages I'm not seeing the blogs that people post--they're right there in the Activity Log, but as I was trying to look at Ardi's new blog, it came up blank below the game page's banner. Here: http://www.gdunlimited.net/games/wonders-war/blog/11921/ardaceuss-deviantart-gallery Not sure if it's only me, but yeah P: Screenshot in case it's just me: EDIT: whoops, no it's not just me. Bob posted about it in Status. I'm using Google Chrome, so it's not just him and Firefox.
  23. Hello! Nice to meet you! Have a great time at GDU, and remember to always have fun making your games!!
