My official "Dyte game Series" topic
OverlordMao replied to OverlordMao's topic in Early in Development
Its not going to be possible to get screen shots up yet, since I only really started work on the game itself. I'm still missing an important thing resource-wise before I can actually begin making the game itself. I don't suppose anyone reading this post could make a RMVX character sprite of the following pic, it would help the game greatly. <--- The "Cybernetic Dragon" -
I'm sure some of you know that I'm working on a game called "RMVX: Dyte's Curse," but recently I've been running a few things over in my head. Dyte's Curse runs somewhat fast to have it be the first game in the series, but just slow enough to be the last one. Dyte's Curse has been moved to be the last game of my RMVX game making, unless I feel like making another game series. With that out of the way, this topic is going to keep everyone on RMXP Unlimited updated on how the game series is going. :alright: (In advance: I'm sorry if I multi-post, but it will be required if no one posts before the time of the next game update) Now, for the current plans to the !First! game of the Dyte game series, which I call. "RMVX: Cybernetic Dyte" (working title) Plot: It has been 1000 years since machines have been banned from the world. Blamed as the "root of all evil," once great machines have been burned down into which have been re-crafted into weapons to deal with the monsters that have begun to reappear. However, a small girl by the name of Beryl finds what appears to be a wounded Cybernetic Dragon. The dragon is discovered by soldiers, captured, and taken away from where Beryl finds it. She then spends the rest of her life trying to find the dragon and set it free before anything happens to it. This was 50 years ago... Today, three students are thrown into an adventure as they attempt to find their missing master and learn if they have what it takes to be Town Guardians. They will go through countless dangers, many puzzles, and even take down some of the most evil enemies in the world. Among their journey, they find Dyte the Prophet, who warns them of a coming doom to the world as someone attempts to revive the Lost Art of Transmutation. ~~Characters (Known so far)~~~ Name: Beryl Age: ??? Gender: Female Height: ??? Weight: ??? Background: The young girl who found the Cybernetic Dragon and has devoted her life to finding it. Last seen heading West 50 years ago. Name: Edge Age: 17 Gender: Male Height: 177.8 cm Weight: 72.7 kg Background: A young swordsman with dreams of becoming a Town Guardian. Has never seen his parents and has always considered his master as his father, as he provided him with food, shelter, and wisdom. Name: Erza Age: 16 Gender: Female Height: 170.2 cm Weight: Secret~ Background: A competent Heavy Knight, she is often seen practicing using her Rapier, a weapon quick enough to make up for her naturally low speed. She is calm, caring, but doesn't like long walks on beaches (sorry). In fact, she can't swim! Those that anger her are often found either in a Hospital bed, in an Inn unconscious, or somewhere inside of a really big ditch. Warning: NEVER, under any circumstance, get Erza angry without a Death Wish. You can make is slow and painful or quick and painless. Name: Sihuen Age: 94 Gender: Female Height: 137.2 cm Weight: 40.8 kg Background: Although she may be an elf, she is not as connected to nature as most other elves are. She will often use her healing skills on those in need of it and use a Holy skills to smite those who endanger her, her friends, or nature on purpose. [/CurrentGameInfo] The problems I'm facing right now are finding sprites for the "Cybernetic Dragon" and a better name for the game to use as the Final Title. If you think you can help me with the sprite issue, send me a PM so I can go over what it looks like in more details. Anything you want to know about the game, series-wise, ask me here. Otherwise, this topic wouldn't have much going on and would be boring. :sweatdrop:

No, not really. I remember watching a little of the NT warrior series once, but that was a LONG time ago. Know where I can watch the whole Megaman Series online? I'm to busy to look myself.
-
I've always been a fan of the Battle Network series games. I tried playing Megaman X and Megaman Zero, but their really hard for me. :sweatdrop: For those who don't know, or would like a description of the Megaman Battle Network series games, I can only best describe it as such. But be warned, it does include spoilers.

How does the player keep track of what to do?
OverlordMao posted a topic in General Game Development
This has bugged me often before, How does any game player remember what to do to continue a game? What I mean is, you play any game and get deep into the story line, stop for several days (for unknown reasons :shifty: ), the goes back to playing said game and is in the middle of a confusing puzzle. How do they remember what to do for the puzzle? Of course, the puzzle can be replaced with anything for the game, but the point still stands. How is any game you make going to deal with this kind of a game problem, 'cause whenever I hit this problem I normally just restart the game, losing all items and levels I spent several hours trying to get. :sweatdrop: -
I'd try for an Atelier game. It can be done without jumping, but would require a ton of work for a synthesis script, getting character sprites of Mana and all different types of characters, and... a ton of other kinds of work. X_X But ya, if I had all of that, I'd try for something close to Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana.

I'm not sure if I'm going to try and get the game or not (I've heard mixed things about it), but I just have to ask, What does it mean to "Mod" your PSP? The PSP I got came with other stuff since I bought it in a box like the one This Link. (Well, it was that game or some Guitar Hero game or something like that. It probably would be sitting in a corner gathering dust if I got it (Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days is what I'm spending countless hours playing right now. Countless if it didn't count them for me, anyway)) So, if you read all of that and forgot the question, What does it mean to "Mod" your PSP?

OverlordMao replied to Marked's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
Voted for the Smiles. Not sure if its important, but I would have voted for the mellow sprite ( ) if it was blinking every so often. Just saying... -
O.O I saw it happen! (Didn't feel like editing the last post, so I can see it happen again!)
-
I'm not sure what it is I'm looking for... X_X
-
...I have no idea whats going on here. Mind if I join in?
-
Its not the New Year for me yet, but Happy New Year to All! My resolution... to finish my game I recently bought, Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days. ...Maybe I could think of a different resolution if I tried, I still have a few hours left to figure out a better resolution.

I voted. By the way, random question here but... what if this comes out as a tie?

Ok, redid the download link *again* so that its on 2shared.com This should work...
-
I'm going to try the direct file for the game (not the .zip file, the .exe file). Cross your fingers and hope this works. Edit: Demo updated to .exe file. Try the download now.

You'll need to use/install something called Winrar, I think... Not sure where I got the version I have, maybe Polraudio can help.

Dyte's Curse ~~Storyline~~ Nothing specific, as of yet. Only thing known at the end of the demo (soon to be released), is that you (the main character) have amnisea. ~~Main Characters~~ Name: Blake Age: 17 Gender: Male Description: Currently has amnisea. Dyte "gives" Blake a cure for amnisea that, according to Dyte, will work in about 1 year. (It's also implied that hes to save the world, but don't they mostly do that anyway?) Name: Katherine Age: 16 Gender: Female Description: Your average, snot-nose brat of a princess, who gets just about whatever she wants, except when it comes down to marriage. Her father, the king (Duh!), wants Katherine to follow the ancient tradition of the small town known as Snow Point Villa (known as such only because its the highest location in the world to allow civilization) that has any princess be wed to the knight of the King's choice, then hand over all power to the new king, all at the age of 16. (Guess what happens next?) Name: Dyte Age: ???? Gender: Male Description: The only person on the world to have lives for millions of years. Its unknown how he can live for so long, but some have guessed that he has discovered how to craft the Elixir of Life. He knows all there is about the world, so anything newly discovered by normal people, he may know all there is about it (only one thing has escaped him, but no one knows what it is). ~~Credits~~ (Several script creators have been forgotten, so this is based off of whatever info I have from the scripts. This is basicly just a large list of names or other stuff for the people I know about for the scripts) Yanfly Engine RD Mr. Anonymous Enu (http://rpgex.sakura.ne.jp/home/) Kylock Mr. Bubble Shu Synthesize And everyone at RMXP Unlimited. (Yes, even those who are minor people who rarely ever post anything important) ~~Scripts~~ Sideview Battle System A ton of KGC Scripts Light Effects VX Regen Defend Aditional Scripts by Yanfly Engine (This Site ( http://pockethouse.wordpress.com/vx/ )) ~~Other Stuff~~ I got most of the stuff over a year~ish time ago, so I can really say I know what most of the stuff in the game is anymore, or where I got it from. ~~Demo~~ First Demo: (Christmas Release) Demo Release 1 (Now on 2shared.com and in .exe format) Well, heres my game. Sorry, no screen shots so far. I will update this post when a new demo is prepared. The first release shouldn't take you that long to play through, but gives a small amount of info for the game itself. :dragoninsane:

I was really hopping not to have an animation running... it would require more work then I really feel like putting in, since I would have to first decide how many frames, then make the animation, then resize each frame so it fits the size requirement to make it seem like the rock IS on fire... Well, thats a lot for me to work on if I would try and work on the rock with the animation. I can bare with four frames of animation if it saves me time and a space I could use for another animation. :B):
-
I'm looking for a RMVX sprite of a rock... thats on fire! Sort of... 1st, this is going to be used in my game, and it would be nice to have this sprite sooner rather than after Christmas. I need 4 different rocks. One that's on fire, one that is burnt, one that has a note on it, and one that's also on fire, but the fire is blue! Thanks in advance. :dragonwant:
-
Just to get everyone ready, I'm planning on releasing a demo of my game near Christmas day. Its going to be incomplete at the moment, since I'm still trying to find a sprite for the game. I will be setting up a topic asking for the sprite, though, even though it might just be easier to ask for the sprite here...

Its the holidays. Thats about it... no wait! Sorry, I've been feeling somewhat random today. Main thing here, what are you plans for the holidays? (Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, or whatever you celebrate!) Since I'm not able to leave the city (for undisclosed reasons (I'm only 17!)), I'm staying home with my family and my grandparents who drove all the way here yesterday! (Well, today's yesterday, anyway). :) So, I ask again. What are your plans for the holiday season of 2009?

The Year 2012, Real or Fraudulant?

The Year 2012, Real or Fraudulant?
OverlordMao replied to formlesstree4's topic in Debate and Mature Discussion
A polar shift seems highly impossible, I don't see how that could even be possible. And I'm sure scientists are going to find some kind of rocket (not a nuke) to shoot at Planet X, if it were to hit us. However, do believe something BIG might happen on that day. The Mayans might have hoped to have survived that long for some ceremony or something, I don't know anything about Maya culture. It could also be the time when I finish school (...maybe '>>). Anything can happen, and that can include nothing. Still, why did the calender end then? Were they forced to stop the calender at that day? So many questions... wait, thats only two. ...What was I talking about again? I think I'll just end the post here. :P
