Necroposting in this topic, to keep it alive. For those who have noticed, yes, there's flowers and grass in the cave. The cave has connection to both sun and water, but I haven't made a sun-beam fog for the waterfall yet.

I used to the VX version of the game. However, after getting annoyed of the VX systems and graphics, I quited it, and remade it in XP instead.

This is my project i've been working on for awhile now.This project is a revival of the old version of Rose Memories, back in October. Sadly, the old version is lost. I decided to post it here to get some comments on it, so I know what I can work on to make it even better. Story "Humans are so cruel? We haven't done anything....yet. Why is people so scared? Because we are different? Because we are blessed by Mother Athera? I actually see that as an honor. How should we be able to accept them, when they can't accept us? It's just a matter of time, before everything turns into chaos" For many generations, people gifted with magia was pointed out as freaks. They got the nickname "Magians", mostly because of their gift. One day, they had en ought. The Magians decided to immigrate to a land, were they could live in peace. Their Goddess, Athera, decided to help them find a home. She found a piece of land, deep into the mountains. There's she created their home. Nocturne. The Secret Garden of Nocturne.. The birthplace of magia. The birthplace of those gifted with it. All of them, born from one seed. A seed from the Rose tree. The Rose Tree contains all magic in the world. The fire, and warms the garden with the sun. The water, which cools it down. The Earth and the wind, that gives the life and energy for the garden. All these types..All this magia.. Is gathered in the Rose Tree. The centrum of Nocturne. Until they came... Rose is one of the bravest warriors in Nocturne. Born with the gift of magia, she lives in Nocturne, like all other Magians. She lives there with her younger sister, Christy. One night, the elder of Nocturne, Morghad, tells all the villagers the story of the creation of Nocturne. After this story, Rose began to think of her existence. Why do Magians exist? Why were they separated from the humans? Humans and Magians? It makes no sense. One night. Rose and Christy wakes up after hearing an explotion outside their house. Rose heads out to see what's going on, only to find out that Nocturne is in flames. The humans has attacked Nocturne. They kill the Nocturne soldiers, and takes the towns people to the human world. Rose heads into the Nocturne mansion, to find Morghad surrounded by flames. In front of her, two men stands. The Prince of Braskan, and his loyal servant, Brask. When Rose tries to cut them down, some kind of magic paralyzes her, and she can't move. Suddenly, Christy, who has followed Rose, enters the room, and tries to save her sister. Christy suddenly gains Brask attention, and he stands in front of Christy. After some minutes, he says "You are the one we seek." And as fast as they came, the humans vanished, along with Christy. The spell that paralyzed Rose suddenly disappeared. Morghad has cured Rose with his last powers. He tells Rose to stop Brask and his evil plans of using the Magians to dominate the human world, until it's to late. He tells her that there should be a teleport somewhere in the praying room, taking her to the human world. That was his last world before the flames killed him. Rose must now find her sister, and stop Brask and the Braskan Empire, before it's to late. Characters Playable Characters: Rose Theron Age: 24 Race: Magian Speciality: Healing Magia Rose personality is a bit different. She like to speak up, and when no one agrees with her, she needs to hear the agruments of why they don't agree with her. Basicly, she's very persistent, but is still very intelligent. This combination could lead to some problems sometimes. But also, deep under this persistent personality, she's kind, and trustfull. If someone is in need, she will be the first one there to help. Chirsty Theron: Age:19 Race: Magian Soeciality: Destroying Magia Christy is the oppisite to her sister. She's Irresolute, and very quiet type. This often leads to small arguments with her sister, since she can't speak up, and tell what she thinks, rather then think what other thinks. But like her sister, Christ is very Intelligence, and loved by Morghad, the Head Minister Of Nocturne. Adam Corush Age:26 Race: Human Speciality: Sword Tech Adam used to be a member in a cult of assasins. However, he left the clut, to seek service from kingsand revenged lords. Lately, he has served the Braskan empire, but is still not loyal to the Empire.He's only loyal to them who deserves his service. Adam is also the quiet type. however, unlike Chirsty,Adam actully speak up when he dosen't agree with others. Altough, he often lacks in intelligence. Micka Dustfeather Age:18 Race: Bruskan Speciality: Burglar Tech Micka lives near the Sacroz Mountains, which Legends says links to Nocturne. Her people, the Bruskans, used to back up the Magians, but was forced too flee from the humans, because of this. Unlike other humans, her Race, The Bruskans, has dark skin, and is used to live in dangerous nature, like deserts and swamps. Mickas personality is goffy and happy. She rather joke around then being serius in conversation, which basicly means that it's impossibal to have a serius conversation with her. Un-Playable Characters: Morghad Age: A bit over 50. Race: Magian Morghad is the Head Minister of Nocturne. He's also one of the few who knows the location of the Rose Tree. Morghad teaches the Magains everything they need to know. Evil Characters: Brask(Temporary Name) Age:30 Race:Unknown Brask used to live in Nocturne, but was banished, becuase his evil intations. There's not so much info about Brask. Most Magians says that he isn't Magain, and isn't human. His race is unknown. After Brask got banished, he was taken care of by the old Emperor of Braskan, who was still unknown of Brasks powers. Brask was later caught in the act by the emperors evil son, Aristomenus, The Prince Of Braskan. Together, they decided to overthrown toe old Emperor, and give the power to Aristomenus. Brask is pure evil, and extremly intelligence. His knowledge of magic is often used in the wrong way, and leads to many ends if lives. Aristomenus Age:29 Race:Human. The Prince Of Braskan. As a child, he was often ignored by his father, becuase his father saw Aristomenus brother as the real succesor. Raged in jealusy, Aristomenus killed his brother while hunting, and gave the body to the wild animals. Devistated by his sons death, the emperor never became himself again, and gave much of the power to Aristomenus, who later overthrown his father. Aristomenus is very jealus and evil, and never really felt the true love. He has never been loved in his whole life, and it has effected both his personality and ego. These out-of-control spirits, spreaded around the world, in form of spirits. These spirites contains evil creatures, called monsters. Typical spirit encounter: When you get contact of these kind of spirits, you will be throwed into combat. There are 6 kinds of spirits: White Purple Yellow Green Red Black All these spirits has different combat levels: Purple Spirit = Easy Combat. Yellow Spirit = Medium Green Spirit = Hard Red Spirit = Challenge Black Spirit = Deadly And the white one is special. If you encounter one, it's a possibility that he will give you something special. The white ones is friendly, but shy. It's a bit hard to find these spirits. Mouse Control: When you move the mouse pointer over a character, you will see this icon. If you then click on the character, a conversation will start. :) At the meantime, if you don't want to use the mouse, it's just to move the cursor to the upper right corner, and ignore it, since I don't think it's possible to turn off the mouse during game. I just saw that I haven't posted here since January, so I decided to drop by. why I dissapered in the first place? Well, personal life took over. Mostly it was driver licence, work and that my moms cancer returned(She's fine now, so don't worry about it) Anyway, for those who don't know who I am, Im Black Shadow a.k.a The Shadow. I used to be Moderator here, but during that my personal life took over, I decided to resign. I have been working on my game Rose Memories since then, and it's doing pretty fine. Well, I just wanted to say hi.

(Since the VX section dosen't have a tutorial section, I will post it here. If any Staff want to move it somewhere else, you are free to do that) Here's is my fist VX mapping tutorial. This time, will show you how you can make a simple village, with the blocky RTP tileset. First, let's make a map that's 30X30 First hint comes here. I've seen some village maps that has a fence surrounding the whole village. That's extremly ugly. Sure, you can have fences, but my suggestion is to just have it in the entry of the village. You see these tileset pieces? These are hte one you should use. The grass parts for a forest village, and the desert ones for a desert village, and ect. We are going to make a grass village. Paste grass on the whole map. Then, decided where to put the entrance. I will put it in the upper left corner. Also, put trees outside the fence, so it looks more natural. Here's how far we have come now. See these parts? Using that part make it looks more realistic. Trees close eacheter is more natural and realistic. Now, the small entrance is done. Let's see how we can make a house. Here's an exampel Houses in VX is tricky. Trying to make the non-symetrical will only end up in faluire. The houses is just meant to be square, sad enought. Take a look on what I have done. Be creative. A fence surrounding the house makes it more private. Also, add detailed nature. Remember, nature is random, so don't put trees on a straight line. Also, take a close look on this. It may look wierd when you put the door there now, but you won't see it in game. This is very important if you want to make a door event, such as the quick door event. When you enter the door without something like this, you will walk straight into the wall. So remember that. Well, we are far from done yet. Let's mae a town square, should we? Remember, a town square can be symmetrical, since it's created by humans, but the nature must still be random surrounding the square. You can also have a small river crossing the village. Don't make it to straight, It will look ugly, and non-realistic. Also, use your imagination. Use your creative. With those skills, you can create amazing maps, even with VX:P Hope you learned something today.

That tileset id more for a small forest town, rather as a huge town, as you intent to making(At least, it looks like that) Try to think more forest in that map. More grass and nature, and less rock paths and stuff.

Here's some VX RTP edits I have done. First of all, I would like some critism. Are they bad?Good?Awdul?Amazing? Something I can change? Post it here.
