Now... this will be judged on the mapping.. not the masterful events of Arkbennett, right? I mean... me being a scripter not allowed to script; and yet he an eventer allowed to event... seems slightly in his favor if based off of events.
-
Alright, How about 1 quote and 1 picture every 3 days? They will NOT be associated with eachother.
-
Now now, let us not google. Honor above all else.

i exhausted it. unfortunately, i ended up ill, then food poisoning, then ill again during. kinda sucked.

I am hoping to win merely to explore the RGSS2 system in it and learn how to more effectively script. Not to mention debug it and make it more like XP
-
Good luck, Ark. Oh, did anyone tell you that I'm entered?

For instance, with the Call Script command, I can hit any script in the database; ergo, I can write one that would trigger to do ANYTHING. But smaller examples would be casting shadows from a fire; cause weather effects to change randomly without taking up RAM, stuff like that.
-
What would I do with scripts? Apparently you don't know me too well. heh heh heh... I've done everything from randomized weather to a Real Time based script; etc. Even have fun with shadows. A map is a work of art, not a plane for which the player to walk across. It is something to be valued as one of the larger parts of games.

Here as of late, I have been playing Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. For all you who like Castlevania games; this one will give you the challenge you seek.
-
2 questions: 1: Are we allowed custom auto-tiles? 2: Are we allowed scripts?
-
Can the pen of the writer be a decent bed-fellow for the writer? Every human has the natural instinct to aprocriate, ergo, it would be better suited not to stay single. I would highly recommend getting a little more of a social life. Believe you me, no amount of words, or games, or anything could replace the love of my life. (No, Ark, not even a guppy or marlin.) In essence, you should atleast try, for you may find something you are missing.

He isn't kidding.

RMXP Unlimited Productions Presents Final Destiny
Leon replied to EmilyAnnCoons's topic in Forum Project: 2009
I recommend a cutscene setup like in the Fire Emblem series. Takes up minimal memory, and it is fairly easy to do. In addition, you don't NEED a script to do it. -
If you need help, you came ot the right place. I'm not sure if we can help with every little detail of game making, but we do have our own little... abilities. Some can create with graphics, help with stories, or even script in RGSS.

Dang, this forum has grown a lot. O_o

Update the Training Center...
Leon replied to fother0's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
I'm going to be reopening the Scripting Training Center hopefully soon. Life has just gotten busy for me between teaching in a Preschool, keeping a girlfriend and maintaining a house... life sure is fun! -
Blizzard makes some great scripts, but if you are using that syntax above, it is only natural to have some errors in the 'Script...' command. Reason being it reads those as 2 separate lines unless it is entered all at once. (if that makes sense). To remedy this, try this command using the 'Script...': a = $game_actors a[xxx].disable_for_party = true this snippet sets $game_actors to the variable a, and allows you to call upon those methods like normal.

All of these are great answers/suggestions. Can I give it a stab? To insert a new script, right-click any area in the script editor on the list on the right-hand side to add a new script. It is HIGHLY recommended that you add this new script above Main, and under all other default scripts. (to do this, you do as Emily mentioned, right-click on main and insert). Next, be certain to note any and all changes you make, especially if you are just learning to script. Ad for learning to script, check out the tutorial section, and the 'class' sessions on the site. I have a good jump on tutorials there and can answer any questions you have.

All of us seem busy with our own projects. I was just curious as to what exactly everyone is working on? At the moment, I've been hitting a bunch of database items hard.

For all of you interested in Cryptozoology, in the Blue Ridge Mountains on Aug 13th, 2008, a police officer and former prison guard claimed to have found a Bigfoot carcass. Even though this is the report, skeptics claim it to be another hoax. Well, only time will tell with this new carcass, as they will be performing DNA and other tests on the creature. If it is a hoax, it will be told so pretty quick. Until then, the question remains: Does Bigfoot, and other mythical creatures exist?
