The other day, I want to the cinema with someone I know to see a movie. As we went in, this person made a comment about the ages of the people who were watching the animated movie that was being shown in the next theatre (How to Train your Dragon). The people going in there were mostly teens, aged between about 12-17. In the opinion of the person accompanying me, these teens going in there were "too old" to watch an animated/children's film. This made me ask myself the question: Is there an "age" where children should not watch shows aimed at children and only watch things that are either non-fictional or more "serious" and "realistic"? Personally I disagree, as just because a film is animated does not mean that it is aimed at very young children. Personally, I stopped watching and playing most kids shows and animated films and games when I was about 12 (I was influenced), but I would like to hear what other people think on whether there should be a "cutoff" point for these types of films. I have added a poll.

I had that as well.

Interesting, I'm non-religous so I didn't know that's where Easter originated from. But, anyway, I do see your point about the Easter Bunny, but I guess it's like all holidays: each one becomes days of untamed brats screaming "I want!" "I want!"

A while back,. I started planning an RPG based on the Time War of Doctor Who with Gary the Duck. I'm not sure if we're still making it, but, over the months I have made three different opening title sequences for the game. Which one do you think is the best? Please vote in the poll. Version 1: Version 2: Version 3: Edit: My youtube channel is "rmxppool" if you want to subscribe.

My reason for the username "Evil Cabbage" is actually quite immature, so I will say two words that will give you a clue: Roast Dinner

I tried... I tried... but at the "AAAAGGGHHH!" I fell over laughing! What was this actually from anyway?

This an app I made on request for Broken Messiah. It takes an input directory, flips all of the images in the directory horizontally and saves these edited images to a specified output folder. Note: I tried uploading the app to the DM, but it was being glitchy for some reason. Also, for some reason I can't download files on the DM. Download Flipin\' Batch!.zip

Hey, I'm just wondering, can anyone point me in the direction of some tutorials that teach you how to edit existing charsets. By that, I mean I want to learn how to create things like running, jumping, attacking and isometric versions of various existing charsets (RTP styled). Are there any tutorials on this, or even better, is therre a program that can make these from existing sprites?

You misunderstand. The original RMXP.Org changed to become HBGames.Org. Shortly after, the domain "RMXP.Org" was purchased by Noise. He then setup an entirely new community seperate from the original RMXP.Org (which is now HBGames.org). I am saying that the new seperate RMXP.Org got hacked.
-
Actually, when RMXP Pool was first starting out (in it's first beta), Noise actually offered to host everything for me and run the site from RMXP.Org . I guess it's a good job that I didn't take that offer. It's still really sad, what happened though. There is a person out there who should be really ashamed of him or herself.
-
Hey guys, I knew for a while that the new RMXP.Org had been hacked, but now it's been shut down. I honestly don't know who in their right mind would want to hack and literally destroy a little online community that's just taking it's baby steps. Some people really need to question what they do with their spare time.

How about being able to "purchase" a larger PM inbox size.

RMXP Pool v2 Beta 2
evil cabbage replied to formlesstree4's topic in Computers, Internet and Tech Talk
Absolutely brilliant Formless! I love the new downloading system and how the screenies are now processed. I can't wait to see how good it will be when themes are available. I will now be releasing this on the RMXP Pool website. -
I use Multimedia Fusion 2 - Developer Version Build R248 with a huge treasure chest of extensions. You can take a look at it here

Hello everyone, I've just had a really cool new idea for an RMXP app; and I would like some critique on this idea. To begin with, this project will be much bigger than one of my normal apps due to the amount of work I'll have to put in and I will still be working on Broken Messiah's request as well. Anyway, the program is called RMXP Lunchbox (please see the end of the post for my reason for that name) and it's basically a program that will guide through creating an RPG completely from start to finish, along with packaging your app, sharing it on RMXP Unlimited and the inclusion of many other helpful utilities. Basically, when you create a new project, it will ask for an RMXP project folder where your game is actually stored. From there, you complete 4 "stages" of making your RMXP game. During these stages, you will be given hints as you go along to help you if you need it (and yes, I will make an option to disable "help".) These four stages are outlined below. 1.) Starting Out A.) Project Info Simple really, just your project's name, author and version. B.)Premise This is a little quiz which asks you some basic questions about your RPG, such as genre, length, target audience and storyline premise. C.) Print this Section This prints your project info and your responses from the premise quiz for your records. 2.)Plan A.) Characters Lets you plan out who your characters are going to be. This will be very similar to my Character Planner App, but it will certainly have new features. I may also include an option for you to import face/battler/character images B.) Settings Lets you plan out your settings. Will work in a similar way to Character Planning. I may also include an option to import a scanned drawing/painting for each location. C.) Storyline Let's you plan your game's storyline. Similar to Storyline Planner, but will include some new features. D.) Major Maps This is an interesting one. This will switch you to a kind of "paint" tool which will allow you to paint rough designs for important places in your game. This part will be linked with part 2B (settings) E.) Print this Section Speaks for itself. 3.) Make A.) Start Editing Launches RMXP for you to start making your game. 4.) Share A.) Package Game Packages your game into a .zip archive and if required adds the RGSS dlls for you and may also check for missing/non-used files. B.) Share on RMXPU! Opens a page in your web browser for you to upload your game to RMXP Unlimited's Download Centre. I have not actually started programming this, but I have made a base for the GUI: I will also try and integrate my other apps in various places and new ones too. Reason for the name being "RMXP Lunchbox": Well, usually in a lunchbox you will have a sandwich, an apple, maybe a chocolate bar. In an RPG, you have characters, a storyline, setting, etc. This is a container for all those things so therefore one could call it an "RMXP Lunchbox". So what do you guys think of this?

What I do, is I use the Anime char generator (available in the dm), rip out the finished char with snipping tool and remove the background with Paint.NET

Actually,I think the movies could work, but they would need to remake the first movie and it would need to be LONGER! As for the Spyro movie, I think if they aim it solely at young children then it might work, but if they try for any higher than ten, they I think it will really flop. Unfortunately, judging by the opening music (which completely drew me in), it sounds like they may be trying to broaden the audience for this movie, which I don't think will work.

It seems to be a trend that every book is being made into a movie nowadays. Now, it seems there is a new trend on the rise: making video games into movies. I know that there have been video games made into movies before, but that's not my point... this is different........ This is no joke; the Spyro the Dragon series is being made into a movie and is apparently due to be released sometime in April (US) and November/December (ROW). Here are a few links to look at: >Internet Movie Database Info Page >Soubdtrack (Opening Credits) Leak on Youtube

I'm not sure if it's really appropriate to post this here, but I have made my first Visual Basic App. I'm actually suprised at how simple VB is. Basically, I followed the web browser tutorial and then added my own bits on. Features: >Web Navigation >Back Button >Forwards Button >"Page Loading" Progress Bar It's here, if anyone is interested in seeing it: <Download Link>
