hey friends, So I know there is a topic about how to make your screen look like it's night time. But, I want to make it so that the lamps hanging on the walls of my building light up, and create an ambient sort of light. I know it can be done, I've seen it before, I just have no idea how to do it. Any clues? I'm guessing its some sort of special event, and considering I just learned how to use fog yesterday (hah..), I wouldn't know where to look. Thanks! ~Joe

I finished it :D. PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you.

Thanks Maph, lol. I guess I just need some help with all the technical stuff. Even looking at the tutorials here are confusing. Now that school is over, I really want to spend some time working on my game. About 95% of my mapping for the demo is complete, but after that I'm completely lost :(

I've already started the battle theme :). And it 's pretty kick-ass, I wont lie.

I could be of some help there :)

Thanks Wyz :) Soundtrack added! Feel free to check it out :)

So, first off, hey everyone :P. I know I kinda peaced out, it was really dumb of me. I was just really, really busy with school. anyway, now that finals are (almost) over, I really want to start up this project again, and hopefully be done with the demo this summer. I've added some new screenshots and I might post the songs on here in a bit as well (it's a great soundtrack ;)). However, I am in need of some BASIC tutorial stuff. I can't even make a cut scene. I'm horrible. And my maps kinda suck too, lol. So, I'd love any recommendation for a great beginner tutorial that goes over literally everything. Comments, as always, are welcome :)

how do you drown a blonde? Put a scratch-n-sniff sticker on the bottom of the pool. What do you get when you put a tray of blondes in the freezer? Frosted flakes!

What do you look for in an RmXP game?
BiddyPocket replied to Leon's topic in General Game Development
Music and Sound - a definite. I doubt the final fantasy series would have been as popular had the music sucked. Thus is why I am here, to provide original scores to make it better :). Always a plus, I say. Storyline - has to be good and NOT cliche. People who make games have trouble making it innovative, and it adds hugely to the game's overall performance. Mapping - again, a definite. If the maps are boring/not done correctly, then no one is going to want to play it. Houses should be small, fields should be large, and it should all look realistic. In-Depth Characters - shouldn't be so in-depth that it takes away from the storyline, but everyone who's there should have a reason for being there, and not just because they want to "join the adventure." I hate when characters like that come along, just to add extra options for a lineup. I'd rather have 4 or 5 solid, interesting, and unique characters then 20 lame ones. -
what's a toblerone? 1,000 jellybeans :)

I agree. 1,000 virgins is quite a lot. 1,000 shares of Microsoft :)

Why would you need 1000 PS3s? :P 1000 assorted tubs of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.....and 1000 treadmills x_x

HAHAHA!!! That's amazing...hence, why I do not text.

Maph, the two pieces are very much doable - I'll have them for ya ASAP :). Also, I did not forget about the project - I'd still love to help! I'm going to PM you about it. Expect the pieces fairly soon :).

Hey friends, so I've decided that I want to buy an online domain to host my music on. But, I have no idea of how to go about doing so. I image there are billions of hosting sites out there, and that most of them are probably crap... I'm looking for just a sturdy and secure site, one that wont shut down, and that is provided by a notable company. I'm willing to pay some money, but not much. I'm looking for upwards of 3GB of hosting space. ' Any suggestions?

hey there Donline, First things first...welcome! Secondly, this is only the place to post your greetings, not your demos and such. You can post that under the "Projects & Teams" section. Also, there are guidelines that must be followed in order to post your projects, so I would take a look at the rules before posting there as well. But, nonetheless, welcome aboard!

yeah, then it would be like a REAL wikipedia, which people change all the time :P. I think submitting stuff to Ark, though, would be a good idea, and he can change it. Feel free to write about me and my composing, Ark! :)
