  1. Yeah, I know of that compatibility issue. So that cannot be it. We've had problems with it since the beginning, its so frustrating. By the way Kage, check out the IPB3.2 teaser, its sweeeet.
  2. You guys may suggestion anything :)
  3. I could upload the file for you, but I do not have a solution for this at the moment. I will go away and post on a support forum, but it would be unusual for one of my topics to get a reply. I usually have to figure out everything myself.
  4. Welcome to RMXPU :alright: Thanks for posting up your scripts. I knew who you were when you joined from rpgmakers, since we're recently affiliated :)
  5. Welcome to RMXPU :alright: Feel free to post any questions you have with the engine.
  6. Can you please post the link to what generator you used? There are 2 generators in the original post.
  7. What is rpg-maker-sources? We a patching tutorial here: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/topic/1134-how-to-make-a-game-patch-just-like-real-games/ If that's what you mean?
  8. Those aren't actually hosting questions. Here's how it goes. You buy and IP.Board license and then download the software. You the upload it via FTP or the file manager in your host (you will figure this out when the time comes). You will then create a MySQL database. Then you run the installer by accessing the installation URL in your browser (this in the IP.Board instructions) and after that is done, you will have a nice fresh IP.Board ready to go. You create your account during the installation process, so you simply login and away you go. Depends. If you upload the files to the root directory then yes. Here, we've uploaded it to /forums so we can have a website, accessible by the base url. Pretty easy. I'd post a screenshot, but you can do this all within the ACP in your browser. You will however want some way of getting your colors in the format #000000 for the CSS. If you know HTML and CSS, its really easy. If you're doing a major overall of the HTML, then theres a dev trick available to you which I'm currently using for my new theme. Nope. You can use it on ANY host with MySQL and file uploads. We started out using IP.Board on free hosting and no domain name.

  10. Moved to Game Making Support.
  11. Hey, just wondering how the site is coming along? There's always room for your stuff here :D

  12. Yeah I would need to get permission first of all from the guy who made that. I'll try and do the robot idea myself (or find an artist willing to help out) and then we should vote, and if the monkey wins then I'd ask for permission to use it.
  13. All of these suggestions will be included in a new profile system, which is going to be rewritten and 'developers' profile. I made a topic yesterday you can post your other suggestions in. As for the things in this topic, I will get to them eventually. I honestly do plan to complete these, but it will take me a long time. Unless someone wants to employ me to do it? :)

Haha, that's coz this post is over 4 years old. Haven't I been here too long?! That mod is way old, don't think they upgraded it to the current IPB version. You already sent me a PM about this. If you wouldn't mind, if you reply to that PM (with your affiliation image preferably) and I'll set this up when I log on next. I would do it now but I gotta get some sleep :)
  15. I really like your idea of the main character being the mascot. The game would kinda symbolize the site, every fan of the game would have a pre-existing perception of what the site can offer upon seeing the mascot. The main character of an RPG would definitely make a good, appropriate mascot. However, the idea of a community project intimidates beyond even trying to attempt it. I expressed this in the recent community project topic and didn't go about it the wrong way, and put down the members when I shouldn't have. But maybe this is an opportunity to explain myself. Currently there is a forum hidden away called 'RMXP Unlimited Productions' created by our former root admin, Emily Konochi (who i know for a fact would be willing to come back from the dead to help with this), which contains an archive of our past work on a community project. So I have a little experience with a community project to begin with. Firstly, there needs to be a leader of the project. People always give up, done fulfill their tasks, are assigned too much work, etc. The guy at the top of the hierarchy needs to, in my opinion, be someone 'special'. The leader needs to have a way with words and members, the team should therefore have confidence in their leader and talk to them about any issues they have. On this forum, I would say (from what I've seen so far) kellessdee could do the job (which is why he was promoted) or Kiriashi. Kiriashi pretty much reckons he owns this forum and certainly has the confidence of the members. Talent isn't really a problem. We have Leon who I also think would come back from the dead to help script, and that kid's got talent. But spriting I have an issue with. Ok spriting takes a long time, its therefore a huge investment, and completely custom sprities is just a massive ask. If you leader is demanding that, then in my opinion thats wrong, he needs to allow filler sprites to take the pressure off the spriters. The spriting workload needs to be shared among several very dedicated members. Lack of sprites can kill a project pretty quick. The last thing I'll add is dedication. The leader obviously cannot really disappear from the internet for months at a time. But the members need to commit also. Most of us have school and periods of no time at all or too much time, but your team members have to stick around. Which won't be a problem so long as all is good within management. The more I think about this the more I want to set it up. Which is a dangerous thought to entertain. It also just turned friday 13th D: Currently activity is in a glorious slump, but if we can get some old members back then there's a chance. I can think of about 5 or 6 members who should definitely be on the team...
  16. Ok here's how its gona do down... This guys face and hover circles + This guys body and less dodgy shaped head + This guys illustration style = ??? I shall install flash one of these days and attempt this. Since it hovers, I'm thinking hover animation. Here's an idea, a 2 frame animated gif that shows the rings move only, then use jquery to hover it. That'll work.
  17. Lol, if you corrected all of my typos Kage Kazumi, you would have a task cut out for you. I agree with you about the domain, but I think there are many variables to success. Fortunately, I was also apart of RMXP Underground and knew the admin. By the way, who is HeavenToStone? I believe the creator was Constance. Constance was a popular admin, and they had some well known scripters as staff. Notably SephirothSpawn and Shadow Wolf (who I actually went to same the uni with :P ). Yeah, he knew how to run a site. Those were certainly the good days. In general however, a domain vs no domain, the domain is going to prevail because some people care about that. It is in indication of the quality of the site, that's just basic economics. If the admin is paying money to run their site, doesn't that show a higher level of organization/professionalism? Your site can be successful without a domain name, just perhaps more so with one. Also perhaps you message to GameFreak-001 was better suited for a PM. That topic... it's just disappointing to see.
  18. I just wana say now that if I don't reply to an idea, it doesn't mean I think its a bad one and won't include. The idea of this topic is to create an archive of ideas and let the community be apart of the sites development. I'll come back over this topic if we get some really nice ideas. New profiles is an absolute certainty. I have a few ideas. We need developer profiles, not IPB profiles. We can also have those custom pages (i think what you are talking about was an old IPB mod) which is actually quite easy to make. But I think we also need blogs. I know they're not really used at the moment, but just because something doesn't get too much attention at the current point in time doesn't mean that it won't in the future. At least, I think that is a necessary assumption in moving forward with major developments. Member photo's is a unique idea. What I do want to do is completely reshape how members can interact on the website. Also, I have checked out facebook and twitter integration, and its basically making registration way way faster, so that will be included also. So members can sign up normally, or login using facebook or twitter credentials, but have a username and an account like everyone else. Feature content is also a must :alright: I think I'll set it up so staff members can select what content to feature.
  19. So that's where you've been! I wish I could travel like that. I take it its part of your job though?
  20. Hey guys, Currently I am in the process of creating a theme for the website. But it's gona have tons of features, and that's all I'll say about that. What I would like to do is get some ideas that the community would like to see implemented here. Try to angle them towards game making, but it doesn't really matter, just post whatever ideas you would like to see here. For example, my latest idea (not entirely original) is something called tracked tags. The member adds a tag to their tag cloud, allowing them to see new content that contain those tags.
  21. needs photoshop...grr. Stupid bandwidth limit. Stupid internet crapping out 2 minutes after off-peak, 6 hours before my 9am class. [/rant]

  22. I like the idea of a character from RMXP. But (at the current point in time) the future theme will look similar to this: http://rmxpunlimited.net/gdu/engines/rpg-maker-xp/level-3 I like this style
  23. Here's one that builds on that idea (of course someone else's work)
  24. I knew there was an app. But what is the difference between the mobile theme (which we do have) and the app? I use the mobile theme on my ipod touch and actually made the above post using it.
  25. Yeah, I thought it was inspiring too. That's why I posted it.
