Have you got anything done in RMXP yet? Or is this stuff the plan for the game?

We used to have the All-in-one or ultimate tilesets here. The problem was when I tried uploading to the Gallery, it scaled the image. That's happened with every tileset, that's a problem I need to fix. We have a mapping tutorial on the site which is great for mapping forests. I'll give you both links. No, google is correct. It's just the exact opposite of what he means. :) Welcome to the forums. You can achieve moderness with the RTP tilesets, depending on what exactly you're trying to create. We can get you some military tilesets though. The RPG Maker XP demo game is a military game, so they have got some tilesets you can use. Well, that would be giving members moderation abilities. Even changing the title of a topic is considered a mod ability. Everytime a member would change a title, that would go in our moderator logs. Also there can be some troublesome members. For example, a certain member who disappeared some time ago deleted all the content from all his topics. I saw at least 200 entries in the moderator logs of the posts he edited/cleared. Leon should remember that. Any member can actually do this, but the point is that if every member were to change their topic titles or close their topics then it can get confusing and especially annoying when topics get closed when they shouldn't be. And some members do not even know the basic functions of a forum when they register here. If you really really need a topic closed or a topic title change, then just PM one of the admins or mods. I like your sig by the way, that guy should have a fan club or something.

No. Just kidding. I think we may have had some rules about it a while back(we've been around for a while so i dont remember). But since your competition has not been closed, I think it's safe to say that you can.

Background sounds will probably not be judged. But you're using common events for background sound? It's one map, just use the map properties. I hope background music will not be judged, just the appearance of the map. That way it's only the mapping skill that is being judged and not gameplay or anything else.

Rules on autotiles? Or is it using everything as default for that tilesest? This is a seriously hard task. You'd be crazy to use this tileset with those dimensions in an actual game. It's impossible to map with those few tiles.

I don't know if you know this, but an RMXP Unlimited project has been attempted twice before. No default RTP maps? I don't mean to offend you of cut you down, but that will almost definitely cause this project to fail. RTP is your friend, you may not like it, but the great thing about it is it exists. Unless of course you have non-rtp tilesets in surplus. I think you should use RTP where you're missing the custom stuff. If you try and go all out original you're going to get a lot of pressure and the poor artists will have to work their asses off(if there are any). I've never got the idea of substitute resources through Emily's head. But, you can use resources that are not 100% what you are looking for and change them later. Don't let lack of resources halt progress. Post it :)

Yup sure do. Have any other members got anything they'd like to contribute? Over the next couple of days, hopefully, I'll release the Link Directory(at the moment only users logged into the website can see it, and most people on the site are guests), and it should have a lot more links.

Firstly we'll start with the website. A couple of weeks ago I made an announcement to try and encourage users to upload their projects. It could have gone better, but at least there was some response, and not none at all. On the front page of the website is a paragraph to try and encourage new visitors to the site to upload and create articles for their projects. It says(links won't show up): Changes to the website is of course development of the Link Directory. Nisage has helped out quite a bit, hopefully more users will do so as well. If you know of any sites that have some good stuff, then please post the link in the Link Directory topic. Another change(which I should have mentioned above) is the Projects categories on the website. Before there were Completed Games, Demos Games and Games in Development. Ark asked me before about the differences in the last two, and now I'm seeing what he was getting at. Demo Games is gone and Games in Development has take its place. That leaves us, more simply, with games that are finished and games that are not. This has been the case with a lot of IPB forums and as a result IPB have released a spambot prevention system. I actually knew about this a day or two before the spambots hit us, so I'm sorry about not getting to it sooner. Emily PMed me about it which made me try to solved the problem. I'm a bit skeptic about whether or not the system is going to work or not because I didnt see much change on the registration page, but there have been no spam bots posting since the system was installed. If they do get past the system, I have another method of stopping them. I'm pretty confident we can stop them either way. Lastly, as in the title, I have a Blogs question. Before I started this little project(The RMXP Unlimited Blog, yes its a project) I had a thought that it could be used by all staff members. I'll explain this idea: I'll get a banned spambot account and rename something like Community Blog and give all the staff members the password(mods and teachers, but not reviewers). That way all the staff can post entries with their own updates and RMXP Unlimited related updates. The reason for this idea is that(as posted in the last entry), I'm on holiday at the moment(from school that is) so I have a bit of free time. In a weeks time I start my last term of highschool and have little or not time for this forum, because I will be forcing myself not to get distracted and not come online at all. I tend to do that. So the question is: Would a community blog be a good idea and would you use it? Or would you prefer me to post all the entries with you guys just commenting?

Thanks. Yeah it is bigger and that's on purpose. I originally posted the same sized version but then realized that the two images looked too identical. This is actually not traced, it was redrawn with the original as a reference. Except I copied the shape exactly so it ended up being pointless. I won't be doing any more. When I'm bored I open up Flash or Photoshop and try to make a battler or something(this happens twice a year, oddly). I think actually have redone most if not all of the database like this. You'll find some in our gallery. I don't hate to redraw them, but I don't have the time at the moment and I uninstalled flash recently. I'm also an awful artist which somewhat demotivates me. :lol:

Nice work, very good. Thanks to you we've got a new section, Youtube Channels. I also added RPG Maker Games. Of course I know about rpgm.org, they're a good affiliate of ours. I think they are more popular than us now as well. I added the site under RPG Maker Games. As for the last two, we have rmxp.org in the list and we are RMXP Unlimited so there isn't a need to add those. The link directory is for sites that have a strength in an area of the RPG Makers. Our site for example probably wouldnt be added to a link directory because we "try" and have everything. I have seen us in a links directory for scripts though. So we would not add topics to the link directory. Keep them coming if you can(that goes for everyone) :)

I think we'll scratch the review side of it. Perhaps just one sentence describing the website? Sakari Infinity for example could be something like "A large collection of fantastic mp3s created by their community". Could you do something like that? Thank you very much, just what we are looking for. :D Please keep posting link if you think they will be beneficial to the community.

Chief and I were developing a Link Directory a couple of months ago, but it sorta didn't get made. I'd like to try and finish it with some help from you guys. We are building a Link Directory(see it Here) with websites that fall into the following categories: RMXP Communities RGSS Scripts RPG Maker Resources Audio Resources So if you know of a website with a particular strength in one or more of the above areas, or you think would just be beneficial to other member, then please post it below and help us create a useful links directory.

These most of you should know of course, Dubealex's famous RGSS and Ruby Tutorials. I thought about whether I should be "copying" these to our website, whether or not it is the right thing to do considering they are not our Tutorials. I had a feeling you would have left a comment here Wyz, and thanks for commenting. I'm going to try and get a thing going where the community does contribute their ideas here and hopefully we will see them implemented on the forum. I'm on my last ever school holidays and since I just turned 18 this month, I'd think that the time I have now is going to be the last couple of weeks where I do have a lot of free time. So I can use it to get some cool stuff happening on the forum and website(which you will see soon). I had been meaning to change from those old post icons for a long time, but I wanted them to look good and not so plain. I went hunting for some new stuff for photoshop and found some good resources. The problem with these at the moment though is what would a member do if their post concerned both RMXP and VX? Well I'll think about adding some more in later. I was also thinking about adding different kinds of post icons that say things like "Wow!" or "New!". Would anyone want post icons like that?

If you made a CD, I'd buy it.
