When I visit the forums and site, everything is much smaller than it used to be. I was wondering is this happening with everyone or is it just my computer? Here's an example:

I myself lack motivation for this forum. I tried really hard to make it active and used every idea i could think of, so that means I'm out of the game in terms of improving the site. Any suggestions of course, I'll be sure to take a look at. I'm also on my last year of highschool and need to study hard to make it to university for next year. Unfortunately I'm almost 18 as well which is depressing, but at least I can buy alcohol once I'm 18 to cure that depression :P . Unlike many schools in other countries(I think I'm the only New Zealander on the site), at this time of the year we are nearing final exams. I work on weekends and pretty late too which sucks all the time I have out of the weekend. I'm off my computer a lot, and i love it. There's also the matter of the forums fonts that are all small for some reason. I have no idea what it is, or if it's just my computer, but everything is smaller. Not that that's an excuse to be inactive, but does anyone see that? Wyzrd and Arkbennett have also become somewhat inactive, and they sparked up the forums quite a bit. I think its a chain reaction though. A community cannot be sparked up if it does not exist. The website is pretty much dead and finished. It was a big idea of mine and I had big ideas for it. Unfortunately with it only being me trying to add content into all those sections, it was never going to work out. Users very very rarely post their own content. I can say that the website is dead and will remain as it is now. Perhaps RMXP Unlimited is coming to an end. Perhaps not. I can't see a day into the future for this forum, but with my lack of motivation there will not be too many changes. Emily_Konichi, here is your opportunity to step in, if you please. I trust anything you do with this forum will be a good decision. Maybe this forum has been kept going longer than it should...I had kept this forum running because of the staff members here. Maybe a makeover is in order? New skin new sections and everything. We have obtained 2000 members and 8000 posts so we have a good start of perhaps a new RMXP Unlimited. The forum belongs to the community, right? This is your forum, so what do you want? There are no limitations here.

Welcome to RMXP Unlimited, Dreadist. You would be surprised at how much you can learn from the RMVX help file, it contains a lot of useful information about RGSS.

I think topics like these are interesting. When you think about inventions you may take something such as a computer for granted. When I think of how we got to how we are today, it is truly amazing. Go out into a forest or some other uncivilized place, and with the sticks and stones around you, build a computer.

Well, the link is working fine. Are you talking about your article on our site? http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/index.php/rmx...t-hero-v10.html It sometimes comes up with that error message when a Publisher goes into your article to edit it, but exits the page without saving. This makes it think someone is in the process of editing it. So to fix this I went into your article and saved it. Hopefully that will allow you to edit it. One of the features of our website is that everything it stored locally. This is because of how unreliable other sites are, so all downloads are stored on our site. Also your Article is just advertising, no offense. It may be a featured game of RRR, but if you don't update that article, we don't need it here.

Welcome to the new RMXP Unlimited everyone. Over the past two days, isaacsol and myself have been working on moving RMXP Unlimited to a new server. Sorry about the downtime over more downtime, but it was necessary to move the forums and site to a new server. I am particularly pleased with the move as now the site does not rely on my activity(as some of you know from the host we just moved from). I would like to thank isaacsol for offering to host our site. As I told him before, he is ensuring the future of RMXP Unlimited by allowing us to be hosted on his server. As I'm typing this not all is finished uploading. If not all seems as it should be now, it should be fixed up soon, don't worry.

That would be because you registered the day after I got it back it up :P I see that, it's not looking too bad so far. I'll give you a PM in the next couple of days about that. No I didn't email everyone. That would probably cause most of our 2000 members to spam our emails so if we ever had an important update a lot of people wouldn't get the message. Besides it was only about 5 days of downtime, if they haven't noticed the place is back up, they are not very active anyway. The forum is about to undergo even more downtime as we are moving servers. Isaacsol has kindly offered to host our site so we will be moving shortly. This will cause one or two days of downtime due to the nameservers of our domain. I'll make an announcement once we move about that.

I had been planning on removing the old chatroom actually because it was not being used. If we had an IRC channel, would anyone here use it?

Yeah, sorry it took so long to get back up. Longest downtime we've had since last year. You're on there, right? I'm sure i've seen you there before. The posting is not so much a problem. Stuff like this is people messing up at their end, not mine. I was a bit worried though since the backup modification has been broken for over a month. But I backed up as soon as I could. I've been thinking about getting a paid host. But I'm unsure about it. That is a generous offer, but I don't know what I could give you in return. It would let me stay off my computer as long as I wanted to, which is never a bad thing. If you're serious, you can PM me. Actually I had been thinking about putting ads on the site. Not for my benefit or even the sites benefit. We have a nice little operation set up here. Due to the free hosting, the cost of running the site is at $0(apart from the money already gone into it). We could donate all the money earned somewhere. Though I'm not sure how much we would generate, but we average 1000 page views a day. Just an idea.

Sorry for the recent downtime everyone. I think it lasted about 5 days, which is quite a long time. The reason it took me so long to get the site back was because my computer broke the same day the site went down. It was actually my hard drive which caused my computer to not work, so I formatted the hard drive containing Windows which was surprising the wrong one, so I formatted another one(I have 5) and that luckily worked. Time for an upgrade I think :P The problem with the site another Host screw up. No fault of our own. It didn't help I couldn't get on until a number of days after, but I started work on getting the site back up 6 hours, which was a stressful mess, but we're back now. Things like this cannot be helped, but fortunately we lost no data. Welcome back everyone.

Yeah, I can't argue, I know very little on the subject. Though, English Manga? I'm pretty sure the only English manga was translated from Japanese. Unless the English creator wanted to write manga so made it read from left to right. Anyhow it doesn't make sense to me.

Actually it is the fault of that website's creator. It has nothing to do with Firefox. I too could make a website for IE only. It's more of a trick than a flaw of Firefox. A web designer has to make a site compatible with all popular browsers.

I'd disagree with that. What is stronger, graphite or diamond? Both are made of exactly the same stuff, just arranged differently. If the question is which do you prefer using, the majority of us who cannot script would vote for eventing. That would mean this poll is pointless. The question is which is best. Leon, you can do both well, so what you do more with? Could you make a system from events which is more advanced than a system from scripting?

So you plan to write this Japanese? Strangely, I know the hiragana and katakana syllabus and don't know two words of japanese. I take it you actually know how to speak japanese? I think you should write some more of the story for us to read :D

Oh, then why did you put RMXP in the title? Sort of gives the impression it involves RPG Maker :lol: So you just want to do a Manga or a comic? For the argument of creating "Manga", it is read from right to left as that is how the Japanese read and that is why it is called Manga(being japanese). So really you cannot make Manga unless it is in japanese or reads right to left. And to create english manga that reads right to left would just be silly. I'm not a fan of Manga or Anime at all, or comics, so I'm out of this one ;) I take it you want this topic moved back?

I'm using this as my default browser now, thanks Wyz ^_^ I was browsing isaacsol's site and noticed the menu effects working much much better. Same with our site. Before they would kind of freeze and the animation would sortof skip. Perhaps they were designed for IE because they work fine in that. This version is much better.

Moved to RPG Maker Discussion. That story kind of reminds me of Harry Potter with the parents being murdered and him surviving. I think the idea of an RMXP Manga is good. Though it would sort of have to stick to the theme of RPG Maker XP(like arshes graphics, etc.) otherwise it's just another comic on an RMXP forum. Also, doesn't manga have to be Japanese for it to be called manga? Another similar topic mentioned an animated type thing. You would think animation is a lot harder than drawing comics, but using graphics from RMXP, it's much easier. If there are no artists to do this, then perhaps that is an alternative. Or at least would could trial both. What do you think?

What are you talking about exactly? The newest version, RPG Maker VX, just come out this year.

Firefox is the best bowser in my opinion. And it's the most popular browser to view this forum with 54& of users viewing it in Firefox. I'll be checking this one out. Hopefully there are improvements with this new version because the previous one is giving me a few problems.

Would language count as an invention? Imagine communication by grunting and hand signs. Nothing much at all would run without that.

Scripting vs Eventing. Classic discussion. Which is the best? RGSS Scripts or Eventing. I started this topic because of the surprising poll votes on the website. Eventing is on 60.7% and Scripting only 39.3%. It seems eventing is more popular by 20%. Really? Vote away and don't forget to justify your votes with a reply. I'm interested to see if the poll here will differ from the poll from the website.
