  1. It could be true that there are too many forums. Really, I only really expanded on the social forums when I redesigned the site (other then adding in the ability for game makers of other kinds to come as well). I'm thinking, though, of merging the lifestyle ones...I never did understand having the different lifestyle forums, and I was mainly just following a template from another active site. Kind of the whole "If it worked for them, maybe it will work for us" thing. The biggest problem, though, with the redesign was that I had a few other ideas to implement that are impossible with IPB, and we don't have the people and resources to shift to PHPBB and redesign the site to add in the other content. In all honesty, though, the forums for sociality are all the same as what we had before. I really didn't add anything new at all, just expanded it out. I literally pulled the cafe forums out and renamed them (though, I didn't originally plan that, and thus moved all the topics into one forum...so it doesn't look like I did that...). But, I dunno, I was just trying to spark activity. We had it for a moment when people heard we were redesigning the site, but I think the fact that all we did was shift the forums a little wasn't enough for people, and they left again. If we could get some AGS, Game Maker, and some of those other game making programs to know about us and come here to post resources and stuff, we'd have a big jump in activity to be certain...but that would all be on the advertising groups job...which...do we even have anyone in there anymore?
  2. When you run the script and export your characters out, you then have to copy the export file into the next game. From there, you run an import in the next game. That help? Also, as I said earlier, it's supposed to be more "Quest for Glory/AD&D" style...I've never played Golden Sun before.
  3. Read my newest novelizations of the Zelda games. They all have Link as a girl =D That'll help you out a bit, and if I could find an artist, I could make it even more obvious by having someone make it into a webcomic. And...shouldn't this go in game discussion? o.O

  6. Try pushing on the door until it opens. If you push on it, then walk more to the left or right, eventually you'll hit that spot where it will open.
  7. hehe, yeah, eventually, when you run into one of the doors, it will open. It's one thing that will be fixed in the remake for sure. No more confusing doors, yay! lol And, yeah, you should try to make another one. In either case, those are all too small. They are only 480x360 and I need 640x480 Literally no other size will work. It's part of the script.
  8. Well, the last one is more of what I'm looking for. I just need a logo to display is all, basically. But the image has to be 640x480 in order to work.   9. Ok, so, this just came to me. I realized that, if we're going to work on this together, and we were going to make it known that RMXP Unlimited pulled together to make it, then we need a 640x480 logo to display in the game. I have a script for a splash screen at the beginning to show logos, I just need a logo for RMXP Unlimited. So, anyone think they are up to the task?   10. True, it's just the way it was being said, it sounded like you could only win once, since there was also a "member of the year" that is composed of the winners of the months, and someone said "that way there are 12 chances and 12 votes"
  11. Sounds like a good idea. We could just have one category "Member of the Month" for the one person that is the most active, posts the most, contributes the most, etc. I think that, with our current amount of activity, if we do multiple categories, we'll run out of members to award by the end of the year :P
  12. Umm...unfortunately, I don't have much until I can get maps made up and eventing done...which requires tilesets, and I haven't seen our tileset maker in a while. I recommend getting a copy of Quest64 and looking over the spells in the game (use a gameshark for max elements if needed) and see if you can make similar animations. I still have no idea what battle system we are using, but if I don't get anyone to tell me, I might go with an ABS...I'm not sure how well the RTAB would work in the game, and I know the DBS won't work at all for what we need.
  13. Umm...well, it would be nice if they were close to the original. I have no problem with modifying them up, but we should maintain a level where the music is recognizable and the players go "Yeah, that's <whatever>, all right." As for original tracks, maybe something for minigames would be nice. The game had no side quests or minigames, so we'll probably need music for those. As for battle system acronyms: ABS = Action Battle System DBS = Default Battle System (the one that comes with RMXP) CBS = Custom Battle System RTAB = Real Time Action Battle System (Think Final Fantasy except 10) TBS = Tactical Battle System And that's all the ones I know.
  14. Hehe, don't worry, it's not too late as long as it's still open. What we need right now are graphics and things...Oh, and as to the things you reported...I would guess the fire SE was probably from the sword you were using. I copied over the animation, but I forgot the attack sound. The island does, in fact, say "HAEL" because it was designed to be read up-down and then left-right. This will probably be changed in a later version when I get graphics. As it stands, I may move the "Tutorial Islands" into the Monastery, as there are 6 unused rooms in there which would work great for the islands. Most of the other reports on Tutorial Islands you made involved the battle system. Truth is, I have no idea if it will be changed or not. The battle system the tutorial is speaking of is the RTAB system in my crystals of chaos game (the islands came from there). Whether we will continue to use the RTAB, the DBS (the one currently in the game), or a CBS, I do not know, that has yet to be decided. This project needs people skilled in the following areas: Scripting Mapping Plotting side quests Making animations Making music Voice Acting (still unknown) So, if you have skills in any of those, please let us know and we'll see what we can get your help doing ^^

For are never unguarded." The bones from before now rose from the ground, swirling around her and forming a sort of barrier. "We are both Commanders of Death, and are skilled at killing, but we have always beaten you." She snapped her fingers once more, and the bones around her seemed to dissolve into dust, which also seemed to vanish. (Also, a question, Mao, you have Setih signed up, but you are using Aidsoar. I just now noticed this, and was curious about it. I don't mind if Aidsoar is another character, but please sign up with him if he is. If he's not, then one of the two (the application or the RP posts) should be changed to avoid confusion of later on members.)
  16. (well, your character looks good, and I have no problem if you join. Only reason I haven't continued the RP was because I was waiting on aya, but I dunno if she will post now or not. The only complaint I have is the unknowns. I don't really like to accept "unknowns" because of the fact that the RP playing that character usually tends to pull a trick that isn't acceptable in the RP. So, I'd prefer it if you changed those, but otherwise, it's fine.)
  17. To all those working on the project at this time, behold, I have uploaded the first demo. It shows 2 new features not previously found in Quest64: Character Selection and the Tutorial Islands. I'd like a little feedback on it. Do you think the character selection works well with the game? Also, do you like the idea of the Tutorial Islands? Keep in mind that the Tutorial Islands are directly copied from an old game, and will be modified when we get the new battle and menu systems. Also, the monastery guy hits a loop, so quit there.   19. Hey, Leon! Want to make a game, huh? Then come help out with the RMXP Unlimited project :P I know we could use a hand with the scripting part of the process, and you're good at that. I'm working on some stuff right now for the game, actually.
  20. Unfortunately, we need graphics before anything can be done...and it seems we don't have anyone willing to help out with that. I'll work on some makeshift levels and post them up, but I'll be using the RMXP RTP. Just give me a day or so...fighting a sickness that the entire family seems to have right now.
  21. As a side note for now: The chances of switching to PHPBB are looking slimmer. I've been working with it a little, and I'm having not sure how to transfer the IPB database to the PHPBB database (it doesn't help that I have no access to that IPB database...but it turns out neither does Marked). The other thing is that there are no mods for making avatars like I was imagining, we'd have to write our own mod, so we'd need someone who knows PHP and whatever...in which case, we could probably do it with IPB because of that. The only reason I really considered PHPBB for that was because I thought someone already had a mod for it.

  23. PHPBB testing has begun! Also, I have uploaded more avatars to the avatar gallery. More avatars may come, but it is currently unknown. For now, though, I have uploaded 7 new galleries: Animals, Disney, El Goonish Shive (its a webcomic), Flags, Looking for Group (Another webcomic), Star Wars, and Video Games (they range from Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Sonic the Hedgehog, Final Fantasy, and a few other random ones).
