  1. Looks pretty good. We could always spice it up with a couple bookcases, maybe a statue instead of the plain altar they hand, etc. Otherwise, it all looks pretty good so far.
  2. I agree that there should be a death penalty for those who kill. If you kill, then you should be killed in return. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" meaning, if you kill, you want to be killed...maybe...probably not REALLY but that's the basics of it. Also, "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" kind of thing, but as a "life for a life" thing. So, yeah, I think there should be a death penalty for murderers. Also, as a later note, I'm not sure what all religions believe in hell, but Satanism and Christianity are two of them.
  3. I use copyrighted music in my game, so, yeah, it should be fine, so long as you give credit to the original designer of the music.
  4. Interesting. I think I look the normal look better then the purple outfit you gave him, but otherwise, it looks pretty good ^^ Although, I didn't see much different between the first and second images
  5. Looks pretty cool so far. I'm not a big fan of the strand popping out (always thought that was really dumb) so I like the flat hair better.
  6. Well, the music may not be exact...but if you go here you can download midis people made from the game's music. http://vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/n64/index-gr.html Just look for Quest 64
  7. Yeah...I have this problem too...I wonder what's wrong...I figured it was my internet...I dunno, though...
  8. well, while I'm busy, here's an image of Brian (the main character). If you can make him a little older and make a character set for him, that would help out a bit. You can make it in multiple styles if you want, and we can determine what looks the best from there? http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/8067/questn64fn4.jpg Also...I'm not a fan of that one hair sticking up...so could you make his hair flat instead?
  9. meh...kind of my fault for starting it, then not having the time to work on it at all >< I've been getting 40 hours at work...which means that I don't have much time to myself...oddly enough...you have less time in a day working 3rd shift then you do any other shift (I know this from experience)
  10. Ahh, that makes sense, well, whenever you get the chance, I'm still waiting and all so ^^ On another note, I can't do much more website updating until I can get access to the main site, so for now, the overhaul is done, but I'll be doing more when I get more access.
  11. No offense...but I think you do look like Harry Potter (I actually thought you were purposefully dressed as him at first, but then I noticed you weren't >>). I don't have any pics of me, though...so I can't help ^^"
  12. Just some random pictures to introduce the photography forum! My cats Alex and Mandie together My cat Dasher My sister's cat My sword! (Yes, it's a real replica of the Master Sword from Legend of Zelda) My Teddy Bear! I never sleep without him! My cat Tiger. This one is really mine. It's my favorite of the cats.
  13. Well...if we were go to with RMVX style sprites, it would be smarter to use RMVX for the game...I don't really see a point otherwise...Now, I would like to use RMXP for it, and I would really prefer to keep the RMXP RTP style (not graphics, just style of graphics) to the character sets and tilesets. I think if we worked hard enough on it, we could do it that way better. As for the use of RMXP RTP graphics...I would like to steer away from that as much as possible. If we could make completely "original" graphics, that would be way better. I would really love to see a completely "original" game in at least the graphics. It would be nice to see a fully original game, but I doubt that will happen first game. Maybe, if we get one out, we'll get more involved, which will allow us to do more then before.
  14. The sound of drums is heard as several figures walk through a long hallway. On each side, there are several commoners standing, in a line, waving to them. Some look afraid, others said, and others seemed happy for what was coming. "You deserve this!" a man in the crowd shouted. "No one deserves this!" a woman, standing next to the man, shouted before clobbering the man over the head with a basket that was in her hands. Large, double doors opened at the end of the hallway, and there, on the other side, was darkness. As the figures entered the darkness, torches lit, as if by magic, and they now found themselves in a large room, circular in design. A mighty throne lied at one end, while a round table lied in the center, surrounded by chairs, each with a man clad in a blue tunic sitting there. In the throne sat the King, though he looked more like a war king then a noble king. He wore a suit of armor that covered his body, and his crown as a mighty helmet that covered most of his face. "Welcome," the King spoke. "Mercenaries from around the world, I have called each of you here for a single reason. As you know, I have promised you all great wealth in return for a simple task." "We know of this," a warrior spoke. "But you haven't told us what, just that you needed the best, and that the riches granted would be beyond our imaginations." "Aye, that is true," the King spoke. "Now that you are here, I shall convey your task to you. You must go to the Woods of Fardinia, and find the Book of Eleshra that lies within the Temple of Gaia in the center of the woods. Return the book to me, and you will be rewarded." "The Book of Eleshra? Are you nuts?" a mage shouted. "Those woods are cursed, and that book is cursed!" "And I am giving you riches beyond imagination! Is that not reason enough to go after it?" "No," the warrior spoke up. "There is no money great enough to cause me to enter those woods." "Nor I," the mage spoke. "Is that so?" a female voice asked, and the two turned. The woman beyond them pulled off the hood of her cloak, revealing her dark hair and skin, along with her blood-red eyes. They noticed next, her long ears, and as she dropped the cloak to the ground, they noticed her robe was similar to what one would expect a Drak-shal to wear. Blood red in color, symbolizing their hate for their blood brothers, the High Elves, and how they were forced into self imposed exile. Bone-white lining flowed throughout the robe, and the woman smirked. "I would go there." "You also follow the magic of demons," the warrior spat. "Demons?" the woman asked, her eyes seemed to glow brightly. "Demons?!" she shouted. Her hands grabbed the warrior and mage, and they screamed as they felt their life forced sucked right out of them. Their skin melted, and their clothes fell off, leaving nothing but their skeletons. The girl laughed. "If I serve demons, then you do as well." The skeletons gave a bow. "Mistress Ranawen," they spoke and the girl laughed loudly, then turned. "Oh, but even with the undead at my side, I could still use help." She turned behind here at the other mercenaries. "Anyone else interested in joining me? I promise I won't kill any of you if you do." She giggled with an almost insane giggle. (And now, to those who are RPing introduce your characters ^^)
  15. now that I have the time to respond... The main thing is...I'd love to do a remake of an old game, but it wouldn't be smart to make a remake of a game that hasn't been transferred over to America...reason why is because, if it's not translated into english...I don't know many of us who could play it, understand what is going on, and then be able to remake it. For a remake, I basically just chose (back when we were voting before) the game I knew the best that would probably be the best remake (Also, I own it, so at any point, I could play through it and check it out again). Yeah, there's a lot of good games out there, but if we want to become known for game making (and there's the important part right there) we should make something fairly well known. Quest64 (or Holy Magic Century as it is known as everywhere other then in America) is fairly well known from what I've heard. On top of that, due to its...rather poor graphics at that time...I don't think turning it into a 2D rendered game would ruin much, if anything at all (the game played like a 2D game anyway >>). Now, another idea COULD be to make a game based off of something else (an anime, cartoon, etc.) in which case I know a few we could make (I even have the character graphics for one of them) but I don't know if anyone else here would be interested in that. A final idea could be to simply try an original idea again. Now, to do that, we would have to really work hard, and unfortunately...I don't mean to sound mean, but we've tried the original ideas twice (or was it 3 times) now, and they all flopped. This is why I figured that maybe we should go with a remake, since all of the attempts at original ideas flopped. I didn't close Final Destiny because it had been 4 months and not gotten much of anywhere...I closed it because it had been like...10 days I think...and no one had even bothered to answer the question you had posted up for people to respond to. That told me that no one was interested, and thus, I closed it down. I think what we will do is this: I'll probably close this topic down in a day or so (whenever I am the time to do all of this) and open yet another "game idea" topic. This time, however, when it goes to vote, I may make it so that, if you don't have an interest in working on the game or have the ability to do so, then you can't vote (rather...make it a rule, cause I can't actually do that). I think the main problem was, we had people voting because they wanted to see it done, not because they wanted to do it. Unless, of course, people just want to try to work on this project and give it a shot, then, if it falls under, then we try again...but I'm kind of tired of "Oh, it fell under, let's try something else" and no one wanting to get involved...Which is kind of why I don't want to open a new topic for voting and what not...I'd rather just either do or die with one last try, and if it doesn't work, just shut it down, instead of trying to go through a whole, big, long, 3 month thing just to fail again...
  16. We have to do testing with PHPBB before we can consider switching, so I really can't say about that one. I have some plans, but I'm waiting for Marked to contact me...he said he had a way for me to test out PHPBB, but he hasn't said anything further...
  17. well, I suppose it is true that we would probably be better off making an original idea...the main problem is...we tried an original idea and got nobody involved. So, I figured we'd try something that wasn't completely original, and that people knew already. Every time we've tried an original idea (we've done it...what...3 times?) and it hasn't worked. That's why I wanted to try something that 1. I knew a lot better then any original idea (even my own ideas) and 2. Could be known well enough that others might know it. If no one really likes this idea, we can try another...I'm just worried about an original idea is all...yeah, it's nice...but we've failed at it everytime. If we make a good remake, we might be able to get more people interested...that's how AGDI worked...they remade King's Quest 1 and 2, then did Quest for Glory 2 because their crew increased massively over the course of the three games...but eh -shrugs-
  18. @aya: We'll be starting in a bit. I wanna see if others join, but if not, we'll start. @Overlord: I have no idea, sorry.
  19. Dragon-men can usually live like elves. Several hundred years. It's something from their dragon cousins (since they were once formed from dragons). They just lost their dragon immortality when they were turned into Dragon-men. In this case, it's a chat RP. Basically, we each post a few lines of text to describe what we do and so on. We try to create a story, basically. That help any? Also, anyone else want to sign up?
  20. It's true that only 5 people voted on this game, but the votes were 12 (or was it 11?) for the Final Destiny, 5 for this, and 5 for pokemon, followed by 2s and 1s for everything else. I have no current interest in working on a pokemon game, thus, I am going with the other one that had 5 votes. I'm working as leader this time to see if we can get some more people involved, as well as getting stuff done. If I can't do it...then it just means we don't really have the support to work on a whole-forum project. Quest 64 was an okay game, yes, I'll give you that. But what made Quest 64 only okay instead of good was some of the systems. I want to use a new battle system, and the monsters and bosses will be much better. I think the main thing that really hurt the game was...no work was put into it. If we beef the game up, add some nice monsters instead of dumb ones (All the monsters were dumb in that game). Change some of the storyline, fix up a few things here and there, we should be able to get a much better game out if it. It's like Quest for Glory 2...the game was okay, but when AGDI remade it, they fixed all of the stuff that made it bad, then added stuff to make it better. In the end, QFG2VGA was WAY better and is definitely worth playing. QFG2EGA (the old version) was horrible. We can do the same with Quest 64 if we work together. I think we can turn an okay game into a really good game.
  21. Looks good aya. Guess I should post mine, eh? ^^" Character Name: Ranawen Elendil Age: 165 Race: Dark Elf Class: Necromancer Description: This but with blue skin Bio: She was born to a very noble home of Dark Elves. They rose her as such, and she became a rather snotty-nosed, stubborn person due to her upbringing. She was the very essence of the "spoiled-little rich kid." That is, until one day when a raid of High Elves attacked her city, slaughtering all that lived there. It was by mere chance that on that particular day, she had been off at a school outside of the city borders, and upon her return, she found her family and friends slaughtered. At that point, she felt the power well up within her, and she cast her first bone spell, resurrecting an army of undead from the remains around her. She led them out to gain revenge, and destroyed the High Elf Outpost the raid had come from. She was now consumed by blood and revenge, and since that day, she has spent day-after-day wandering the world with her powers of Necromancy. She seeks nothing more then to kill those of the Forces of Light. She would love to see every human, every Dragon-man, and especially every High Elf dead.
  22. Yay! It's been...4018 years since anyone experienced a year 2009 (I'm talking about 2009 BC :P). Have people ever stopped to think about that? We're lucky enough to be alive to be one of 2 generations that will ever experience this year. The first being the one who lived in BC, and the second being this one.
  23. ZOMG! Zeriab has returned?! hehe, jk. Anyway, looks good ^^
  24. Sounds good, isaacsol, send it over and I'll check it out. Marked may need to install it (I don't have access to the site itself, yet), but it should work for what we need.
