I really like the color changing!

I think you shouldn't ask us indecisive people to make decisions... ~glares~ That said. I don't really have a preference between GDU and RMU in abbreviated forms. For the long forms I like RPG Maker Unlimited better than Game Dev Unlimited, but only because I prefer the increased number of syllables. If It was between RPG Maker Unlimited and Game Development Unlimited, I'd be either or. To me Dev (or Devs) is supposed to be in specific reference to the developer people.

New to this site, and RPG Maker in general

Welcome!! -
In case anyone noticed I haven't been around the last couple weeks, RL issues decided to jump out and bite me over the holidays. Most of my creative energy has been buried in the recess of "it should be there somewhere..." I know I have a few things I had promised to work on, and I will, but it won't be as soon as I would have liked. The Christmas game contest: I had to give up on (obviously), though I might try to finish up the game I started at some point, just to let people have a fun 10-min time waster. The anime sprites: still in progress. I am determined to get at least the basic front standing pose (for each char) done this weekend. I will be trying to be around more, just have to find the mental capacity to do so.

Welcome! Don't worry about the torches, we pyros only use them to light things that are pretty when burning.

Are you wanting the battlers turned into portraits or the sprites? If it's just a matter of resizing I can do that for you.

Is the purple area swamp-like or beach-like? You could transition from the beach area to an inland grassy area with swampy puddles, or have an estuary type area. Then you can do a more swampy area with little bits of the purple fog, then bigger patches of purple fog and finally your thick fog.

Welcome to the forums! -
I play several different games, usually going on a spree for a few weeks on one and then setting it aside for another. I'll probably get a few more in over Christmas vacation. Everquest II Geneforge Aveyond Dragon Age Rift

I might be able to help you, but not immediately. I'll see what I can put together in a few weeks.

I'll give it a try! -
See if any of these will work for you for the dragon ball z. You will have to create an account and log in to see the images. http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58388

Since I have photoshop (which allows me to do whatever graphics editing I feel necessary) I don't really have issues with the in-engine part. Especially since I figured out that when I edit one of my custom tilesets, I can upload it and rewrite the previous, keeping all the passabilities I've previously set (instead of deleting the custom tileset to replace it and losing my passabilities).

Intro posts are likely to get much more attention when you fill them with more information, so tell us about yourself: What platform do you work with? What directed you to us?

Script to compare actors stats/parameters for a challenge system?
phionabrie replied to neiljwd's question in Support
I don't think you would have to create/store all 150 variables. As I understand the way the engine works, when you have your party fighting one of the other characters, you aren't fighting the actual 'actor' but an enemy version of that actor. That being the case, you shouldn't have to specify individual actors. Just specify that the $game_party.actor[@actor_id] traits have to be higher than the $game_troup.enemy[@enemy_id] traits. The engine should fill in the id with whichever actors/enemies are in the party and/or event. And if you're worried about the lack of specification causing it to use the system for all battles, not just certain ones, add a condition to where if __ is on, the script will apply, but if __ is off it wont. (Disclaimer: I'm still learning RGSS so the code specifics may not be 100% accurate.) -

You might have to do a little trouble shooting. Looking at the VX Ace even page, make sure Event #1 (the conversation) has a statement in the comments area (right side) that says something along the lines of @>Control Switches: [number] = ON or @>Control Variables: [number] = amount. After whatever your key line is in the conversation. Then for your Event #2 (the door), page 1 needs to have one of the Conditions (left side) boxes checked. The condition checked for page 1 must NOT equal the condition set in Event #1. That will be your locked/closed door. Page 2 needs to also have one of the Conditions boxes checked, but the page 2 condition = event 1 condition settings. If you have no conditions set for page 1 then page 1 will always be active, no matter what conditions you have set for the other page. If you want the door to close/lock again after you enter, just create another page/event that resets the switch/variable to what it was before the conversation.

Check the drivers for your soundcard. Make sure not out of date or corrupted.

It would be fairly easy to create a ripple effect. Just use a water tile in character format, with a different ripple pattern for each position (up, right, left, down). Then, in your event you can set move route to make it turn, thus rippling, when the event occurs. There are several water tiles though (ocean 1-4, cave of water, etc...) so if you need someone to create your graphic you need to be more specific.
-
The easiest way to do that is to have the conversation event turn on a switch or add to a variable. Then when you create the next event, set the switch or variable as a condition for the event to be able to trigger.
