Weeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllll As a ghost, I'd have to say that I like more ethereal beings such as spectres and ghasts. What did you expect.

Whenever I listen to the music I make, I always think 2 things, 1: Why is it always so creepy? 2: How the hell did I make that/what drugs am I on?

Ardi's Soundcloud + Music for Wonder's War
Ardaceus replied to Ardaceus's topic in Resource Showcase & Critique
Got 3 new tracks + 1, one of which, you can use in your own game! 07 - Tale of the Wind https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/07-tale-of-the-wind A story lost in the wind, waiting to be found. 14 - Silence https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/don-14-ardaceus-silence Prelude to insanity. Free to use - Desolation https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/desolation I was just playing around for sounds, and I thought this soundscape sounded cool, I might do more things like these as I have another one like this in production. But feel free to download this scape if you would want to use it in any of your projects, just say that I made it in the credits and everything is cool ;). 03 Remix - Creepy Crawlers (Bit Mix) https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/creepy-crawlers-bit-mix I tried to remix this song, but none really made it quite as good as the first time around, but when I was playing around, I discovered that different instruments being used made something pretty cool. -
I know you can play movies in VX Ace, but I don't think it's an option in XP from what I know. Though if you can't, just show pictures frame by frame, with sound effects and a soundtrack, and maybe some voicing, depends on how far you wish to go.

3000pxls2?!?! woah okay, well then. Besides that being a really huge canvas that I don't even work on due to sheer massiveness, it would be far easier to shrink that to a size that can actually fit on most screens. What I would suggest to do is to resize the game using that script (if it works) to a size that can be of the same size as your title screen, like 800x800, 1000x1000, 600x600, but I would go for 700x700 for the fact that it would probably run and look best. So you'll want to try changing your title screen to different sizes until you get one that has good resolution for your canvases, cause 500x500 pixels = 250000 pxls, and 3000x3000 pxls = 9 MILLION pxls. Do you know how many 9 MILLION pxls is? like, 9 times the amount that a 1000x1000 has at 1 million. And I'm pretty sure that no painting needs more than a 600x600 scale to be beautiful and smooth perfectly. So just resize your image till you find a relating zone where it still captures the beauty of your pic, but doesn't create chunkiness.

Maybe have a moderator checking in on the incomplete games every now and then to check out the games that are complete and playable and let them prosper in a section that contains only games that are all of the following: Complete. Have a few videos and/or picture showing/promoting the game. Have a working download link. Actually good games that are not like Jake's Quest or such atrocities that are on that level of game design. Then to have a section dedicated to works in progress and demo available games, like Wonder's War, Machine Made, and Prophet Sword. Which would have to follow these rules: Must have content to show. Must be updated every now and then. Must have an active developer on this website. *Not cancelled. Cause I see a few games on here that don't have much content, are not updated, have a long gone developer, or were cancelled. *For cancelled games maybe, we can leave them in a section called "The Forgotten Bunch" that is comprised of incomplete games where the creator of the site can still be found, or plans to return, to take back the game into production. And that's all I can think for rules of game pages besides that they should all only have content relating to your game and nothing else like the personal life of the developer, as there is other places for that such as the profile page and blogging. Now when on the forums, I think that the main rules are: No profane language. No getting too far off topic. An easy to understand title. Putting the topic in the right section. No overuse of pictures unless if it pertains to the main point of the post. No spam. No insults or put-downs. No one liners unless if it's spam'o'rama or if you can actually help greatly with one line like a link. Honest opinions. Nothing dirty. That's all I think should be rules for this website. I'm pretty sure that there are more out there that are good for this site.

We actually have a script for that on GDU: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/7024-custom-resolution/

Well I do know about the game you're talking about, so I'll say what I imagined: A sky blue river with the protagonist rowing from a harbour pier across to a dock on the other side that is quite long, the harbour was made of stone and light brown wood and had a little canal on the inside that led into the river. The river reflected the clouds in the sky from it's clarity, and all that could be heard was the seagulls in the sky and the rushing water. Once across, he came to a dock where it was made entirely of dark looking wood, and it had much more larger ships everywhere which came from the sea.

It's a chill chat where you can chill and talk about anything you want. Like a live version of the cafe forum.
-
I think admin chat is the term used between a channel used by higher officials on a server who communicate to discuss issues in private away from the public eye, and to solve problems like glitches and syntax errors on the website.

Yo person who I saw in chat for 20 seconds as a guest.

Happy New Years as well from this ghost! I had a pretty good year, just lost all my friends for one really good ghostfriend, but it was worth it as we match really well. And also it's my birthday technically tomorrow, and I'm pulling out a 24 hour working period to try and finish my game's demo for my birthday. But hey, it's been a lot of fun making this game and also being on this website :). So yee. And also @Nisage "Welcome back to GDU even though I don't know who you are!"

Windows 10 IS Microsoft's last chance?
Ardaceus replied to GraveBusta's topic in Computers, Internet and Tech Talk
Two things 1. I completely agree to that. 2. Do you mean AVG or Avast? Cause https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AV_Security_Suite -
Except playing really bad RPG Maker games.

Windows 10 IS Microsoft's last chance?
Ardaceus replied to GraveBusta's topic in Computers, Internet and Tech Talk
Windows 10 is my 2nd bae besides my real life relationships. I have only ever had one problem with Windows 10 and that was just the auto updates without my permission where it decides not to save my work. I fixed that pretty simply as well. What I like most about Windows 8 and 10 is just that they are well organized in terms of finding files, as I have an easy time finding all my files and can organize stuff with a breeze. And it makes it easier when my friends get viruses if they have a Windows 8 or 10 because it is so easy to find that stupid malware that everyone else but me gets. Another good reason why I like 1O is because it is the fastest running system I have ever had. Not even my mac or any computer I've tried has had as fast of speed as my Windows 10. It's hot bananas. I don't think Windows 10 is a bomb in the slightest, mainly because they literally gave out 10 for free, no cost. And I find it the easiest system to use ever. While you might say that Mac is better, those computers are too expensive and they do better when it comes to creation applications like Photoshop and Music Composition. While Linux is not the computer I would like to use, for I am not a psychic computer god of creation that needs the best coding computer when literally all I do is just ask people with a kind and giving attitude for help, and I just don't see it as being used as a leisure computer for playing games and checking social media. Windows 10 is just as unique in it's own experience as it is to Mac and Linux. So yeah, Win 10 is Love, Win 10 is Cortana... who is also the best computer search engine I have ever had, like really, she knows what I want when I want. Sweet. -
Merry Xmas!!... That is all. But besides that, how is your holiday so far? Mine's really green as there is no snow ;_; Is anyone else having a green winter? Also, what did you get and give for Xmas? For Xmas, I got my ghostfriend a squid sweater that says "Runs with Squid"... and it's great. For me, the most expensive gift... and the only gift I got... was a hairdryer.... yay... You can tell I'm having a great Xmas. Must be my age now cause I'm turning 17 in 8 days.

Ardi's Soundcloud + Music for Wonder's War
Ardaceus replied to Ardaceus's topic in Resource Showcase & Critique
I just released 3 more songs for the game! https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus 01 - Greatness Awaits https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/don-01-ardaceus-greatness-awaits Greatness awaits all those who journey. 08 - Wisps https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/don-08-ardaceus-wisps In the mistwoods... they hunt. 13 - Abyss https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus/don-13-ardaceus-abyss It's cold down there. (Abyss is a quiet one, so if you have bad hearing, you might need to turn up your volume...) I'm still playing around with Creepy Crawlers and I am playing with the soundboard for Abyss. -
When I make a shop, I make the most basic rule of all... DON'T LET A COMMON SHOPKEEPER BUY YOUR ITEMS!!! IT IS STUPID, AND THAT IS TOTALLY UNREALISTIC!!! But seriously, the sell feature is really stupid, and quite frankly a few other things, like you go to Joses (Joses is the name of a fast food chain in my game) buy a Grillbur, and then the stupid part comes when you go to the weapon shop across the street, and the super buff weaponsmith buys your Grillbur for 100 (insert currency name), then sells you a sword for 40... Like what even!?!? I balance out all the prices of items in my game, I make sure that things are logical, and that prices add up, like you can go to the Java Good Time Cafe (the name of the first cafe in my game) and you can buy a coffee for 50 â„, while at Joses, you can buy a Grillbur and a Mr. Spritz with fries for 260 â„, then a Sharpsword costs 1220 â„ in comparison, but to acquire a Sharpsword from this city, you need a weapon license from the city to buy weapons so that the government is in control of what weapons are owned by people. Then if you want to buy a hotel room for the night, you'll need to spend 350 â„ for room, service, and breakfast for a room for 5. If you have a condition that is severe and needs tending, you'll have to go to a doctor, who you can pay 200 â„ for a full checkup and cure for condition... BUT! if the character who is getting a checkup has a legal medical card in the area, such as if the high elf goes to a hospital in a high elf region, or if a Danne goes to hospital in a Danne region, you don't have to pay the money because of free health care laws, though if an Ordan goes to a Nozan clinic, you'll have to pay the 200 â„. Then to make some money back, you can go to a trader or visit Mr. Goodz which will both buy your items for a reduced cost, but still for money which is hard to make, and for a reduced price, it ranges from 90% to half of the original price. That is how things work in my game. So really please just use logic when creating your world and make sure the prices balance out, and definitely make sure that each place sells exactly what it should... unless if you are making a game that has weird logic to begin with.

How about horror? That is a popular genre.

How many of you guys use the forum userbar?
Ardaceus replied to Marked's topic in Feedback, Bug Report and Forum Help
Marked, don't do anything, everything is perfectly fine the way it is. The only thing I would like is to be able to see that bar on the home page and on the games page as well. I abuse that bar everyday.... uhhhh.... kindly of course! -
Ardi's Soundcloud + Music for Wonder's War
Ardaceus replied to Ardaceus's topic in Resource Showcase & Critique
I use garageband and audacity mainly. I use audacity for the live recording part of my music making for when I do any saxophone or piano part, or a sound effect. I edit it in Audacity, then I take it into garageband where I add in the good parts by selectively adding in each note at a specific time. The process takes me a while, but I like what I end up with. -
I've started a soundcloud now, and I decided to post some of the music I have made for Wonder's War in it. https://soundcloud.com/ardaceus There are three tracks on my RSS, 02 - Melody of the Musicbox Takes place in the Majorelle Caverns, meant to have an echo feel and sound somewhat like a half broken musicbox. 03 - Creepy Crawlers Is a theme for a boss, can you guess what kind of boss it is for?? 06 - Song of Ether Who is Ether, what is Ether? I didn't post many because I don't want to give away too much of my game and the music that I'm making for it. I have about 7 tracks of the album that they are all a part of, all which is to be only used in my game. So I was wondering what you guys thought of this music, I just want an opinion and how it makes you feel. P.S. I might reupload Creepy Crawlers because I have an idea to make it a lot cooler.
