  1. Well that is a good question. Personally, my favourite kind of thing to fight is all the enemies in Undertale... You don't even know bruh. Those enemies are pretty awesome, their movesets match their personality and environment. It was fun to fight them because their attacks were creative, and they offered different ways to win the battle. Mostly I just love monsters with lots of flexibility, challenge, and a bit of personality. While this is not applicable in most cases to most games, I really enjoy when I can fight monsters like this. In my own game, I prefer to have animals in the non-civilized environments, mythological creatures in de-civilized areas, and humanoids in civilized areas, so like I'll put foxes and wolves in a forest, undead and wraiths in a dark castle, and bandits in a hideout. When creating their stats, I try to make it realistic as possible, like if there are scorpions and desert tortoises in a desert, I'll make the scorpion more of a weak thing, but blocks attacks and has a high counter rate, and a strong attack with poison effect, while leaving them super weak to magic, and the tortoise would be like a tank, and have high stats overall and a lot of resistances to elements, while having a low attack rate. To make each one a bit unique, you can blind the scorpion, lowering its chance to counter and block, then bombard it with physical attacks, or you can use magic to fight the scorpion though it is not as effective as physical attacks, or you can burn the scorpion to death and defend from its attacks. For the tortoise, you can use mech magic to hurt it super effectively, or you can confuse another target to attack the tortoise, or even just use abilities that ignore defences like gambling or techniques. But in the earlier parts of the game, I don't give as many choices on how to fight the enemies, for you are still collecting party members who all have different movesets, and ways to fight. I try to give as much choice as soon as the opportunity arises. Another thing I do is make sure that the enemies make sense themselves, and try to stay as realistic to what they would actually do in real life. Like I'm not going to make an angry bird use a rocket launcher and a Fashran Boggart summon a dragon from another dimension... or a Sinnous Saint use elemental magic... or a fire hydrant use incinerate (yes, these are all monsters in my game... I'm not joking). One more enemy I should mention, boss monsters. There are many different ways to present a boss monster, but one standard that should be for all boss monsters is to allow preparation for most monsters, unless you are deliberately tying to surprise the player with a battle. Like if you are trying to buildup a spider boss, you can use characters to show a fear of spiders, and have webs getting more intense as you delve further into the place where spiders be lurking. Or if you are trying to make like a super powerful scary undead who will show up at the end of a dungeon, you can use lighting and music buildup to get the player in the mood for the boss battle. And for the bosses themselves, you may want to make it some sense on how to beat it. Like you can leave how to beat it in the level, or you can have an exposure to how to beat it after a certain amount of time, or just have the player use their own logic or tactics. Try not to make it too blatantly obvious unless if you kind of slip it to the player, or do it in a humourous manner. Another thing I should say is the music, try to make it fit as best as possible, and if you can, you can play the theme of the boss later into the battle if you want to have a bit of silence or a buildup. The best example I know of: (Spoiler, do no open if you don't want to spoil Undertale. Play Undertale, or be a little spoiled kid and open this before opening.) Well that was a long opinion.
  2. I mean like you have that blue progress bar in the games section to tell the world how much complete our games are, and you could just switch that for these cards no? Or something besides the cards which gives a viewer insight into what is done on the game mostly.
  3. Well one: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/index.php?app=arcade it is $00P4H lonely there and two: That hot dog bit is making me laugh so much. My family thinks I became a horse. You also have VX Ace and GCH??? That is like unheard of on this website for like nobody else I know owns just those two in particular besides me... so like, whoopie!!!! The only thing that could make you even more awesome is if you are a fan of Undertale. I wish it became more known that GCH is (in my opinion) the best method of creating characters for RPG maker games, cause I don't hear or see much talk about it.
  4. Considering that you look like you know what you are doing so far on this, and you know exactly what people are going to say to you... I'm just going to stick to: "Hello, and welcome to da club." But yeah, we can help you with whatever you need, whether it be game related or not, or if you just want to have a random conversation about how evil hot dogs actually are, we'll be more than happy to chat. Also we have a lonely Arcade somewhere on this site that no one uses anymore. Have fun!
  5. Why don't we have these things on our websites instead of just a blue line?
  6. Well that explains what happened to my blog page.
  7. I don't understand hallucinations, I have never seen a hallucination in my life while awake. The only time supernatural things happen in my life is when I'm dreaming, and I have a scene in the dream that ends up becoming reality, which has happened quite a bit to me. Can someone explain what it was like during a hallucination because I really don't understand?
  8. ... ... ... ... ... ... You need to buy this game like right now as you are reading this.
  9. I can plan ahead my sleep habits, and use my knowledge of my mind to a bit of advantage. I have a few tricks to staying awake that can help me accomplish the goal. I have no problem staying awake for over 64 hours, but it requires me to always be busy, have no source of sound, not be in a comfortable place, have 3L of Pop/Soda whatev, and to be alone. The longest I've gone using this method was on a huge HTML project I had to code a multiple pathway story for a cool 140% on my final exam project. That was 65 hours of no sleep, though I failed when I decided to lay down in my bed, and I instantly hit paradise, and went to a coma for 8 hours.
  10. So I recently just got into playing a game called "Undertale", mostly because of how popular it has become in the video game industry world... because of Homestuck... and because of all the posts I receive on Facebook about Sans and his brilliant bad puns. But really, this is the best game I have ever played. I have no complaints about this game other than besides that there wasn't enough TEMMIE!!!!! It has my favourite bosses of all time, and kept me really emotional at points with how good it got you into the game through the 4th wall at many points. And that finale(s) was just astounding. But if you want to know what was my favourite moment, just My entire Ghosty life has built up to this.
  11. Cool to see old users coming back, it would be super cool if like everyone came back. But we got Noob Saibot, what else can one ask for?
  12. OOOoooooooooooooooooo OoO Very nice! This was something I have been looking forward to for a while.
  13. Found something, when you use the quick uploader, it is fine the first time around, but if you click outside the box it gives you to upload, then click the quick uploader a second time while on the same page, it doesn't work. So that's a thing that can be fixed.
  14. Hello there, I see that you also have VXAce as your platform... It is also my preferred platform, as I like making custom sprites for the program. So if you ever need Chibi sprites, perhaps we could join in for some
  15. I never really thought of that as a problem, because when you hover over the button(s) for like, 2 seconds, it tells you what it is.
  16. Usually on the forums, you have to post a demo for your game before people comment on the game, it's not that it's not being noticed, you just need some physical content of the game for someone to experience, then to have the people's thoughts put on it. I would have had my game up a while ago, but I've been really caught up in school work and my personal life to get around to finishing the demo. So I have no reason to complain about not receiving any feedback on my own game page, even though I have screenshots and blogs.
  17. That picture reminded me so much of Homestuck... More than it should have...
  18. Oh wait Marked, I need this.......... ANIMATED/GIF PROFILE PICTURES/ICONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Welcome to GDU! It's cool that you have experience in RPG Maker, and are making your own game. If you would like, you could post your game's idea and any videos surrounding it or pics in the game page area for people to see and critique. We also have people on this website willing to test your game for any errors and problems. If you would also like to have people help you with your game, there are people all around this website who are willing to listen to requests. Like DoubleX who is a pretty good scripter, we have a lot of reviewers which can help if you find to have problems in your script, and if you are looking for sprite artists, I'm a chibi spriter if you need chibi sprites, or there are mack spriters elsewhere on this site.
  20. Actually, my entire world that Wonder's War takes place came to me in a dream, though the time period was different. My dream took place with me as the main character on Novus 400 years in the future from when Wonder's War took place, and that has become my original story for the plan. Wonder's War is more of a prequel than anything, but from how large the whole timeline is, it is also a sequel. It has become my most treasured dream, for it pretty much is a basis for all of my ideas. I won't talk about it though because spoilers.
  21. I'm looking forward to new options in the games section.
  22. Boo!!! . . . Did the resident ghost scare you?
  23. Well as far as you know of me, I'm a long dark brown haired green eyed pale skinned emo w/glasses motha capricorner. Which I said that I'm either one of these two pics I love my white hoodie. Such comfie.... But since then, I've changed my hair a bit. So here's as close as I can get to myself: And yes, I do have yellow headphones. I would also put them on the male version, but MV character generator thinks it's funny... And yes, I did spend a whole hour carefully recolouring my hair to dark brown since the MV character generator thinks it's funny to have more pink colours than brown hair colours...
